The Night Can Be Deadly

My breath was hitched in my throat as I stared at Iris behind Jesse. She was the only thing that actually needed to survive this. Her and Blossom. "Fine, let the games begin." Jesse chuckles before dropping the rocket launcher and pulling out his gun. "Well, pull the trigger. End it." He chuckles. That being said, I cocked the gun and shot. But he dodged it. Of course. As soon as that was shot, more gunshots fired. The main target was...kill Jesse. The hardest part...Geeks. "GEEK BEHIND YOU!!!!" I screech shooting it in the head as Jack turns around. "IRIS TAKE BLOSSOM AND HIDE!!!!" Erin yells towards Iris. She nods before getting up and running towards Blossom.

"Where the hell did he go?!" Gabe asks as someone shoots at us. But we can't see him. Until I see orange and run towards it. But instead it's just blood. Dried and orange. Screams and shouts are heard until I hear one gunshot and a scream of Mike. My head snaps up and I turn around to see Mike falling to the floor. No....no way in hell. Suddenly, I don't care about Jesse anymore. "MIKE!!!!" Iris screeches as her and Alysha rush to him. He holds onto his side where blood pours out all over his hand. "MIKE NO!!" I yell dropping to my knees in front of him.

The gunshots and screams and shouts stop as everyone surrounds my brother. My little brother. "Mike no." I whine tears already pouring out. "Here." Erin hands me a rag with a shaky hand. I rip Mike's hand away from his side and press down on the wound. Mike lets out a loud screech or yell or whatever you call it. "Tony, Jack, find Jesse. Trap him." I demand. They both nod before running off with their guns. Mike's breathing turns into pants as he gasps for air.
"V- Vic." He pants faster. "It's gonna be okay Mike. Don't worry." I say wiping my eyes. "Vic....."

He whines as he fidgets. "Dont move!" I snap pressing harder. "Alysha...is there an exit wound?" I question. She rolls Mike to the side a bit and bites her lip. "No..." She sobs. "He's not gonna make it!" Jenna sobs. "Don't say that!" Iris sniffs. "Vic....help me." Mike whines softly. "I'm trying! Does anyone have anything that can get the bullet out?" I ask looking around. They all shake their heads. "No..." I whimper.

"Vic!!" Mike screeches arching his back as he holds onto the rag, tightly. "It's okay Mike. You're gonna make it. I promise." That was when tears started to stream down my brother's face. Not once in my life have I seen him cry. Only when our parents were found. As a kid he wouldn't even cry. He was a quiet child. As was I. But when he grew, smoking and yelling and laughing was what he did to stop from crying. "Vic...I'm scared." He whispers.

My heart broke in half. And this time tears didn't fail to fall out of my tear ducts. "Me too Mike." I whisper softly. Mike reached up before taking my hand in his and squeezing. Alysha clutched onto his side as he kissed her repeatedly. "Vic, don't let me wake up again." Mike says barely audible. "I don't think I can let that happen." I whisper. "Vic! Don't let me wake up. I don't want to be one of them. Please Vic." He says softly as his breathing becomes shallow. "Don't let it happen Vic please!" He pleads as he pants faster.

"I don't care who it is I don't want to wake up again. Let me die in peace please." He mutters, his voice losing it's spark, his eyes also. "Okay." I whisper. "Vic...I love you. You know that right?" He questions. "I love you too bro." I murmur. "Alysha, don't worry about me...I'll be okay. Keep yourself safe. I love you." "I love you too." She sobs back. Mike's tears become heavy and we know he's leaving soon. "Thank you Vic." "For what?" I ask in shock. "For being a good brother. Being there for me. Listening. Now....by tonight, I want you to propose." Mike grins and glances at Iris who sits with Erin as she bites her thumbnail.

"I will...promise." I nod. "I love you all. Tell Iris that." "You shouldn't have gone like this! It should have been me!" I say slamming my fists on the concrete. "Shhhh..." Mike says trailing off and closing his eyes. Before he let out his last breath, he cupped Alysha's face and caressed it as she placed her hand onto his and smiled. "Love.....you......all....." He croaks as he lets his hand drop and his final breath is let out. Tears escaped my eyes as Alysha took her knife out.
"Are you sure you want to do this? I can." I say with a shaky breath. "You're not capable." She whispers before bringing her knife up. Quickly, I stand and walk over to Iris and hug her. I can't believe this was real. Why not me?

Later that night, we found a place to sleep in. It was a grocery store. Iris laid in my arms and I traced her tattoos. I didn't let myself cry. I couldn't. Mike wouldn't want that. But he did want me to propose. The only way I could do it without waking anybody up was to just give it to her. When she finally turned on her side and faced me, I took her hand in mine and slid the ring into her palm before wrapping her fingers around it. Her face looked confused and then looked down before opening her palm. Shock covered her face as she covered her mouth.

Slowly, she slid the ring onto her finger and kissed me for the first time on the lips. And it felt amazing. Like the old times. As if no Geeks were roaming outside. Like Jesse wa- My thoughts were pushed away by the noise of a loud boom. He's back and he found us. "I'm killing him." "Vic, don't bring yourself to do it." "He killed Mike, Iris. He's dead to me." I say shakily before grabbing my knife and running out. So far everyone's out there and watching.

"So Vic, where's Mike?" Jesse smirks before laughing. "You're dead!" I snap before lunging at him and tackling him to the floor. My fingers wrapped around his neck as I choked him tightly.
"You wouldn't kill a person! Especially me." "Well I guess you're the lucky man." I coo before he kicks me square in the groin. I groan loudly before falling over on my side. Jesse then tackled me before grabbing his gun. "You. Can't. Kill. Me." He said as he hit my eye madly with the butt of the gun.

"VIC!!!" Iris screeched. Finally he held a knife to my chest. Quickly, with all my strength I try to turn it to him. We both had this type of fight for a while now until I crept my fingers towards my gun. Jesse instead slashed his knife across my wrist causing me to screech in pain. With that, he almost stabbed me in the chest. But instead, I quickly brought it around and stabbed him in the throat. Blood gushed out of his mouth and throat which spilled all over me. I gagged madly as he choked on the blood. I did it. I killed someone.

Oh my God. Who am I? Kellin ran over and pushed Jesse off of me and helped me up. "It's over! You did it!!" He exclaims hugging me tightly.

But sadly, I had this feeling that it wasn't over.
