Hidden in Plain Sight

Chapter 2

*Jaime's POV*

Tony and I grab our guitars from the backseat and head into the doors of Fearless Records. We make our around the place until we stumble upon Vic. "Finally, you're here" he puts his hands up asking for high fives. Being a good person, I decide not to leave him hanging I high five him.

"So where's this new chick you've been talking so highly about?" Tony asks.

"She's in the studio with Mike" Vic says excitedly. "Come on, you have to meet her".

Vic leads us down the red velvet halls of the studios. Memorabilia hung everywhere of past and present bands who have become successful from Fearless, along with posters of many bands album arts and photos of bands performing live at various concerts and shows. Heck we're even hung up here somewhere. I forget where, but there are like 3 of us.

We get to our studio and enter when Vic opens the door. Walking in, Mike and I am assuming our new producer, sit back in rolling chairs with their feet resting up on amplifiers, just chatting away. They didn't even notice we had come in until Vic coughed a little. They both look out way, Mike not caring very much, but the girls who's name I do not know, stands up to greet us.

"Carly, this is Jaime and Tony" Vic introduces us, pointing out which one we are. "Jaime and Tony, this is Carly Fox. She's going to be working with us on our new record".

"It's so good to finally meet you" Carly reaches out her hand to shake ours.

"It's good to meet you too" Tony says shyly, as he always would when meeting someone new.

"You too" I say casually. "Vic has told me you are good at recording and stuff, is this true?" I begin to interrogate her jokingly.

Before she could reply, Mike buts in. "Heck yeah man! She's fucking awesome. Listen to this. She recorded a full song out of a homemade studio in her house".

Mike sits up from his chair as Carly beings to blush. He clicks a button and an all too familiar sound begins to play through the amplifiers under the desk. All Time Low's 'Forget About It'. Until the lyrics begin I could swear it was their actual song. But instead, it was a female voice. It was Carly's voice.

She had the complete song. Vocals, including back up vocals, guitars, both rhythm, lead and bass. And She had the drums too along with all the extra sound effects that mastering puts into it. If I weren't so smart, I'd say she's recorded her voice over a backing track, but no. Carly insists she recorded the entire song all by herself, through and through.

"No fucking way you did that by yourself" Tony remarks.

"Well yeah I did" she says blushing an extreme red.

"That is so fucking cool" Tony says before he grabs out his guitar.

We all begin to laugh around, complimenting Carly on her amazing work. She takes it lightly and puts it behind her probably used to getting compliments like this all the time. Soon enough, we decide to get down to business. We all pull up a couple of chairs around a table and we all begin to discuss what we would like to do for the album.

It is mostly Vic who does the talking for us, as he wrote the songs and as a band have all pretty much agreed on what we want for it. Carly is completely 100% supportive of our ideas and continues to assure us that everything is possible unlike other producers. I like this about her.

Carly has a lot to say about our songs too, throwing in ideas and suggestions of what she would like to do and what she can and can't do with us. But amazingly, we all pretty much agree on anything and everything that is thrown in. She goes through each song individually, picking and spotting out little errors or highlights through them. I've never worked with someone this easy going and eccentric as Carly.

By the end of the discussion, we've taken up most of the day and it's too late to begin working on stuff. Carly asks us if we were all willing to come in tomorrow and begin tracking some drums. She said that yes we only really need Mike for the day, but she likes to have the rest of the band with their band member so they can all have an input and say of what goes on. All agreeing, we make plans to begin tracking drums tomorrow.

Split it!!

If separating it into 2 parts makes the story have a better ending than I'm all for it. I don't mind waiting a little longer
