There's Hell Over Me

Mike's POV

I grab Scarlett's wrist.

"Come on. Guys we need five minutes." I say.

"Okay." She replies weakly and the others nod. I pull her into the next room.

"Look, Scarlett, I'm sorry."

"I am too, it's okay." My eyes tear up. That's not good.

"You just, you remind me of Vic, when he was younger, he used to cut and I'd clean him up but then there were some days where I just wasn't around to protect him or he wouldn't let me in. He was always the older one but I was always the stronger one." My voice cracks towards the end.

"It's the same with me and Amelie. Except I cut too, only on my thighs, so no one sees, my ex boyfriend was always going on about how ugly, fat and worthless I was."

"So you kicked him out?"

"No. He was violent, he would always hurt me, one day, I told my dad and when I came home from work I found him dead. In my house. My dad killed him. I couldn't bear that house any longer so I moved in with my parents, but of course it was my dad who killed him. That's why I ran away. Amelie has a similar story but she's more afraid to tell it, I don't repeat it, she's the only one who'll tell anybody and she'll only tell you if you're really, really special to her."

"Wow." It's all I can say. I take her hand. "Everything will be okay." Tears fall down her face and she tries to cover them up but fails. "Come here." I take her in my arms and hug her. I hold her for what seems like forever until she quietly speaks.

"Can we go back and see the others now?"

"Sure." I smile. "Let's go."

I had an alternative chapter where she talks it through with Vic but my IPad glitched and I had to write this one. I hope you like it!
