Run Away Dad

Three hours in a car with no A.C. couldn't be good, let alone with a screaming two year old and three teenagers. We were dying in the car, when we finally go to Grams house we all ran into the house like a stampede to get water. Gramps laughed at us while Grams glared. So far Uncle Vic wasn't home.

"Okay you, you, and you outta here until dinner." She said shooing us kids out of the kitchen. We all laughed and went out to the backyard to swim. I put sunscreen on Zeke and then handed him to James while I put some on me. I ran and jumped into the pool.

"Ron, don't take this the wrong way, but for having a kid you have a killer bod." James said and I laughed.

"Thanks, guess swimming came in handy." I say laughing at him. After a while we went back in and the guys were there. Vic, Tony, and Jaime had come. "Hime Time!" I shouted when I saw Jaime.

"Hey gorgeous, who's this little guy?" He said pointing to Zeke.

"My son, Jaime this is Zeke." I say as Zeke smiles. Hime takes Zeke from me and they instantly start talking. I grab a towel from the hall and wrap it around my waist. I walk out and see Tone is alone by the window. I walk over to him, I've always had a crush on Tony. He's so sweet and shy. "Hey Tone."

"Hey Ronnie, what's up." He says.

"Nothing much.....wanna get out of here?" I say, he looks over at me and smiles.

"Sure, where?"

"I need to get Zeke some new shoes, so Vans?" I ask and he nods. I tell my mom we're leaving and head out.

"So how you been?" Tony asks.

"Good, Zeke finally sleeps through the night so I can get some of my school work done. How about you?"

"Um okay I guess........I caught Erin cheating on me a few months ago so I'm trying to deal with all the fan stuff about it." He says. I look away, I always hated Erin. When I would call Hime, I could always hear them yelling.

"Her loss," I say. He looks over at me and smiles. When we get to Vans we buy Zeke some black and white vans and head back home. As we're walking home we stop and get some ice cream.

"Hey Ron," Tony says as he slows down, "Do you wanna go out on Saturday? Like on a date." I smile and look up at Tony.

"I would love to," I say and reach. I kiss him on the lips and a million butterflies erupt in my stomach. Things are finally starting to turn out right.
