Vic's POV

The way she glared at me, it seemed to tear my heart apart. She was a beautiful wolf with an icy glare, aimed at me. My tiger paws dug at the ground nervously. I wanted to tell her I was sorry for my action, that I didn't know, but I did know. I was just to fed up with my jealousy over Austin to think. Now Jack and I were banished, but we made the mistake to come back to early.

Wynter had done this one other time with a boy who went off against a girl snake Shifter. It wasn't a good day, and the boy begged for forgiveness, but Wynter just went off on him.

She growled and snarled at me, her white fangs barred and ready for blood. Jack backed off, but I refused to move. I wanted her to see we wanted forgiveness, but she just wanted us gone. I had always respected Wynter. She was our leader and the one who had the ability to run things around here. Jack, Mike, and I always honored her position and it was never questioned. But to late, the thought passed over me. She might be seeing me as challenging her.

When I first met Wynter, she told me about how when she was a wolf, her emotions seemed blown up and everything was bigger than it was and it obscured everything. Now she had that cloud over her eyes again.

The black and grey form leaped at me and bit my neck. I rumbled in pain, but didn't fight back. Instead, I shook her off and got up. Mike came out and she halted him. He didn't want to get in the middle of this. In the blink of an eye, she was knocking me off my feet and bit my arm again, telling me to get away or feel the fury again. Jack didn't dare to intervene. Instead, I shook her off again and she backed down while Mike grabbed a hold of her and pulled her back.

Once again, she told us to get away, that we still had time. Jack and I turned around went back. For the next twenty minutes, we sat on a hill in dead silence. It was horrible, being banished from the Sanctuary. I couldn't help but feel the anger still gnaw at my heart.

When our time was up, we walked back as humans into the Sanctuary. As the standard, we locked the door behind us since no one was on guard. Mike was probably downstairs. Jack and I shuffled through the empty hallways as Mike came up the trap door. He stopped us in the hallway. It was obvious that my brother was dead tired.

"Hey." I mumbled. Jack hung back behind me. Mike just stared at us.

"You seriously pissed her off." He grunted while ignoring my greeting. I looked down in shame. As if I didn't know this already...

"How is she?" Jack asked. Mike glowered at the both of us before leaning against a wall. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. The blood had dried against my neck but a few drops still bled against my arm.

"Well after you challenged her, I told her to cool off and sleep. Of course she couldn't, so now she's sitting on the couch." Mike spat the word at me. It was stupid and foolish of me to do that.

"I didn't!" I held up my hands in defense. Mike glared.

"That's how wolves see it! Hold your ground means a challenge! Couldn't you see that she had the wolf cloud over her?" He shook his head and sighed. Jack echoed the breath behind me.

"We have to go down at some point." The skunk haired boy sighed. I nodded, unsure of what we faced.

"Just don't say anything, don't make eye contact, and give her room." My brother told us as we started our descent.

"Oh, and guys...." He asked. Both of us turned to face him.

"She really hated sending you guys off. It tore her apart." Mike softened up. Jack and I both knew that. When she did it, she hated the punishment. Both of us felt bad for making her act out for our behavior.

With a deep sigh, I pushed open the door to the Sanctuary.
