Austin's POV

One Month Later...(Late June)

Thoughts raced through my mind, but they all cleared. We had just finished our setand our amazing fans were still cheering. The rush of adrenaline for every performance finish was like my drug. Alan and I met backstage. He gave me a high five and walked off to put his guitar down. We gave the set our all, and it was amazing.

"Hey, have you gotten a letter back from LP yet?" Alan came up behind me and asked. We were heading off the the buses now. I could hear the fans murmuring quietly and halted before we walked out into the open.

"Actually, yes I have. It's in the bus." I pointed out in the direction of our own mobile home.

"I really want to make a mad dash for the bus." He complained with a grin. Elbowing him the ribs, he laughed.

"Lets go meet our fans." I grinned. This is what I lived for, just being able to help other with our music. When we stepped into the grassy area, we were met with one of the security guards, telling us we have ten minutes. About twenty humans crowded together in the hot and sweaty meet and greet area. I didn't care if we went over time, I just wanted to meet everyone.

Within the next twenty minutes, I managed to talk to everyone waiting there. The guard didn't seem to happy, but I was on my own time. Alan and I thanked everyone for coming out tonight before we were forced back to the van. I managed to wave back at everyone before the door shut. Phil and Tino were already laying back, taking their well deserved break from everything.

"I see you got another letter!" Tino pointed to my seat. I moved over to the leather chair. Alan moved over, curling up on the two other seats like a cat. Typical ginger princess. I patted his head affectionately as he drifted off to his own dreams.

Of course, it was another letter from Raelyn and an added letter to Alan from Lily-Pearl. I was almost tempted to wake him up to show him the letter, but I decided against it. The kid deserved sleep like the rest of us!

I took out my letter and read Raelyn's long, loopy handwriting. In the past couple of letters, she talked about the excitement of going to Warped Tour. Her mother was allowing her to go, even though she herself, couldn't make it because of the surgery.

Austin,

I can hardly wait to meet you at Warped! It'll be exciting go to the tour for the first time! LP really wants to meet Alan, but she's to scared of the people there after I showed her some pictures and talked about it. She's been talking non-stop about him! It's been wonderful for her to find someone to talk to. Ever since we found out about our mom having Breast Cancer, even if it is Cancer with a little 'c', she become more and more shy. Alan is the only person she has really talked to besides me. You guys are so wonderful and have really made a difference to us!

I'm glad that the Tour is going well for you guys! I've watched a few videos online and it looks amazing! Colorado is getting a heat wave down here! Perfect for swimming and getting a bad sunburn, but not much else.

Alan turned in his sleep. His body pitched forward as he rolled off the seats and awoke with a start. He groaned out in pain and looked up at the paper in my hands. He held out his right hand from the floor. Looking down, I saw the letter and picture on another sheet of paper. I handed it to the ginger on the floor. He read the letter. Giggled escaped his mouth as grinned and showed me the picture. One thing that Lily-Pearl never failed to do was make him smile for each of her letters.

Alan hopped to his knees and crawled over to Tino and Phil who stared at him oddly. Well, it was Alan. This isn't the craziest thing he's done. Alan hopped up and shoved the wrinkled paper his knuckled gripped tightly. Tino and Phil couldn't help but awe at the picture of Alan and a cat in colored pencils.

The ginger princess came back to sit next to me and reread the words sprawled over the page. I set my own personal letter down in a stack I had received from Raelyn over the months.

I may not have known her personally, but every time I read a new update from her, I couldn't help but get a tight knot that twisted my stomach. I hoped that it wasn't any bad news.

I'd received everything from her dog becoming blind and her cousins moving to Texas to joyful news like being part of a band in her school. I couldn't help but feel protective over her with what she's been through. The girl was tough, but then again, she had to be strong for her sister.

I felt like being the big brother for her. She needed someone for her.

Alan hugged the paper to his chest as he went to grab a pen and pencil. He brought one over for me as well.
