Something Else

I Am Always Yours

The next morning, I woke up with a splitting headache. I'm assuming I drank a lot, I mean it's me we're talking about. I groaned as I stayed in the comforts of my bed, imagining the slew of plates, cups, and trash that was littering my countertops. Maybe if I just ignored the mess, it would clean itself eventually. Right? That's how things like this worked.

After I got up from bed and peed, brushed my teeth, and took off last night's makeup, I stayed looking on my phone at all the tagged photos of me and the attendees of the little party last night and 'liking' the ones I truly did like as I scrolled passed all of them. During this social media fest, there was a knock on my bedroom door and it honestly freaked me the fuck out. "Uh, yeah?" I questioned curiously.

I heard a small laugh come from behind it and them asking, "May I come in?"

"Uh, sure?" I answered in a questioning tone still unsure of who was behind my door. It opened slowly after my response and in walked Steven; his hair a tousled mess and his blue eyes half shut. "Oh, it's you. I thought it was some stranger."

"But you were still gonna let the stranger in?" He retorted with a chuckle. "How are you feeling this morning?" He sat at the edge of my bed, making sure to be a certain distance from me.

"I feel like I got run over by a fucking train to be honest. What did I drink last night?"

"What didn't you drink last night?" He answered, making it pretty clear to me that I had a lot of everything apparently. "By the way, Merry Christmas, Bonnie."

Oh yeah, it's Christmas Day. I smiled softly, "Merry Christmas, Steven." The last Christmas he and I spent together was the best one we ever had, honestly. It was before he started bugging the fuck out of me and before I started getting too emotional about everything. "You know, it's 24-hours of A Christmas Story today." I suggested as I rolled from the middle of the bed so he had room.

He smirked, "Yeah? My favorite movie?"

I laughed at him. This movie was literally his favorite movie of all time; a fucking Christmas movie was his favorite. It was kinda cute, to be honest. "Yes. Now come on, it's almost 11 so that means it should be starting up again."

He closed my door, knowing I had this weird thing with doors being open, and climbed into my bed on the other side as I grabbed my remote and switched it from Netflix to the channel the movie would be on. Steven made himself comfortable and it honestly didn't make me feel weird. It felt normal. It felt like it used too; it felt right.

Eventually as the movie went on, and we laughed like we'd never seen it before. I ended up cuddled in his arms, watching the movie comfortably. I kept wondering why Steven was beginning to feel like the right one, all of a sudden. That's why I was so misconstrued about it, honestly. Because it was so sudden and I didn't want him to be a rebound. I didn't want anyone to be a rebound. I couldn't bare to see hurt in his eyes again because of me. It broke me the first time around, I couldn't do it a second. It was time for me to decide if I was being honest with myself when it came to Steven.

I loved him. Of course I did. I always would. We were together for three whole years, and we were beginning to plan our lives together until I freaked out. The main issue I had with him was his immaturity when it came to his stuck up friends. It was like he tried to act cool and nonchalant around them. The real Steven wasn't like that. The real him was naturally cool, calm, and collected. And also fucking supportive of everything I ever did; my biggest fan. Steven knew me. He knew what I was about, where I came from. And now, even though two years ago I didn't agree, he gets me. Now, he gets it.

But then, I think about Mike. The guy who was so charismatic and different and brought a much needed spark into my life for many reasons. He was free spirited and happy and didn't care what others thought of him or of anyone he cared about; he was like me in the sense that he did what he wanted. No holds bar. But, he thinks I cheated on him I guess? I'm still unsure about why he dumped me in the first place, but I was still mad about it. I was mad that he had the nerve to think I would do something like that. Who did he think I was? I've never cheated on anyone in my entire life, and I don't plan on it. And Mike's biggest issue was where I came from. That offended me, to be honest. How could someone so free and comfortable with themselves be so fucking shallow? He didn't get it.

All this thinking was beginning to ruin my mood so I decided to stop for now and enjoy the present. Enjoy what I had in front of me and who I had in front of me; and right now that was Steven.

I rested my head on his chest and he wrapped his arm around me, placing a small and innocent peck on my head before continuing to laugh softly to his favorite movie. And being here made me happy.

Later on that afternoon, I had walked into my parents house to celebrate the holiday. I was starving and all I wanted was some cold ass water to help solve my dehydration. My mom was in the kitchen with my aunts and a couple of my cousins. My dad was in the living room with all the guys watching basketball games. "Hi sweetheart, Meer Christmas." My mom kissed me on the cheek. "You look beautiful, honey."

"Thanks. Merry Christmas." I said blankly as I rushed to grab a glass and fill it with ice cold water, all while tossing my bag somewhere.

My aunt Janie laughed, "How hungover are you?"

My eyes peered over to her and I smiled a little, "Super."

"I'm assuming the party went well last night." A voice came from behind me and it was my dad. "You don't say hi now?" He kissed the top of my head before trying to pick at some of the food my mom was cooking up, only for his hand to be smacked away.

"The party did go well." Another voice came from behind us boomed over and I turned around, my eyes meeting Steven's again. I smiled softly at him before turning back around. Everyone told him Merry Christmas and whatnot, and I just sat there sipping on my water.

Earlier, we continued watching Christmas movies and he made me breakfast before we napped then he went home to go change. He was wearing fitted black dress pants, a white button up dress shirt that was folded up to his elbows, and he had on his dark brown boots. The gold rolex on his left wrist glistened with the lights shining on it. His hair was fixed nicely and he smelled really good.

"Steven, Merry Christmas honey. You look so handsome!" My mother gushed over him and gave him a hug, as did all the other ladies did.

"Bonnie," He greeted, giving me a tight squeeze when he hugged me. "Merry Christmas."

I grinned, returning the greeting back at him as if we didn't just spend the entire day together. We basically pulled up in the driveway at the same time, also. He smirked, taking a seat beside me on the bar stools sitting outside of the countertop. He eyed me quickly and I smiled again, trying to make it seem like I still halfway hated him.

"So Steven, why are your parents in New York?" My mom asked.

"And why would you not go with them?" I sneered pretending like I didn't want him there, making him laugh.

"They are visiting my aunt and uncle. Apparently, no one has seen them in years or something. I don't even remember them, anyway. Plus, I would much rather stay here." He flirted his last sentence, looking straight at me.

I rolled my eyes, taking another sip of my water before side eyeing him. My mom continued questioning him about his life just because she liked talking to him so much. During the course of conversation my mom's eyes lit up, "Bonnie, how's Mike doing?"

As soon as she said his name, I realized the only person in this house who knew that Mike and I broke up was Steven. I chewed on my bottom lip, reminiscing on those thoughts I was having earlier about him. I shrugged, "Mike and I broke up, mom."

My aunt made a face as if this were an awkward conversation to begin, especially with Steven here. "Why? What happened!" She gasped, her mouth dropping open.

"I don't know. It's hard to explain." I lied. It was pretty fucking easy to explain, actually. He was shallow as fuck because of the house I grew up in. That's why.

"It's alright. Bonnie doesn't need a guy, anyway. She needs some alcohol. Where's the wine!" Steven exclaimed, making everyone laugh, me as well. My mom and aunts turned around to get wine and wine glasses, and he squeezed my thigh before shooting me a wink. I smiled, thanking him for bringing alcohol into the equation because that's the one thing that got everyone in my family excited. And, he knew that.

Mike's POV:

"What a Christmas, huh?" My older brother Vic said as we were hanging out in the backyard with all of our friends and family at out house.

I stared at the bottle of beer that was in my hand, nodding. "You are definitely right." I smirked as my eyes landed on the tattooed blonde that was swimming in our pool. Her name was Alysha and I met her about a week ago. The day after our hometown show, actually. What a birthday gift she is.

"Man, Bonnie's party last night looked so much fun! I should've gone! She invited me and Jess." Jaime said, staring at his phone, tapping it here and there. I rolled my eyes, not even caring about stupid Bonnie or her stupid party or how many stupid people were there.

"I know, she invited me and Erin, too." Tony added, taking a sip of his beer.

"Nic said it was a rager." Vic said along with them. He was invited, too. They all were, except me. Again, not like I even cared. She's a grown ass woman, she can do what she wants. "She looked real good, too."

"I mean, do you guys wanna go and fuck her? She's in LA. Go for it! Just shut the fuck up about her already!" I got up angrily and went back inside. My parents were in there, cleaning up. It should be me cleaning up, but I was too busy drinking the day away; like I had been lately.

"You okay?" My mom asked, noticing the gleam that was scattered across my face.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I lied, going to the fridge and grabbing myself yet another beer,

"I don't know, it seems like there's something on your mind." She insisted, then my dad walked into the kitchen, telling my mom it was time to head home. "If you were upset, you would tell me right?"

I smiled softly, "Yes. Mom, I'm fine. If I wasn't, you'd be the first to know." She pat my hand then went out back to tell everyone goodbye. When she came back in she hugged tightly then kissed my cheek.

When they left, Alysha walked in with a towel wrapped around her body. She had a sly smirk on her face indicating that she was ready to ho up to my room. I shot her a grin back before chugging the rest of my beer and following her up to my room. and locking the door behind us.

Bonnie, who? I had already forgotten.

Bonnie's POV:

The night went on and I eventually left my parents house. Steven was gonna stay a while but then meet up at my place later on. Walking back into my house, which was clean because of Steven by the way, I immediately went upstairs and changed into my black and white plaid pajama bottoms and threw on a black thermal. I was fucking cold and I didn't care who saw this outfit. I lit my favorite holiday candle and then turned on my TV to see It's A Wonderful Life playing. I never got into it much, but it was my grandma's favorite Christmas movie so I appreciated it.

Twenty minutes later, my door buzzed and I walked over slowly shuffling my slippers against the hard wood floors. I opened the door and Steven stood there with a smile and two red cups of what looked like hot chocolate. I grinned letting him inside and he wanted right over to my couch, where I was sitting. He wasn't wearing his dressy clothes anymore. He was in black jogger sweatpants and a t-shirt with those Roshe's he always wore.

I plopped on the couch and he covered us with the throw blanket then handing me my drink. "Thank you, Steven." I took a few sips before putting it on a coaster on a little table beside the couch. I grinned, resting my head on his shoulder before he wrapped his arm around me.

"Bonnie?" He said softly. "Can I get something off of my chest? Promise not to like freak out or anything." He had concern washed upon his face.

"Are you gonna say anything to freak me out?" I asked jokingly, looking up to him.

His smile grew as he caught my joke, but then disappeared when he began to speak again. "This might sound crazy. And if you're not into it, then I won't be offended. But, do you want to like, go out sometime? Like a date?" His nerves were spilling out with every word and it caused my own nerves to stir within myself. "If it's too soon, because you know, then that's fine. I'm okay with waiting. I'll wait forever for you."

My eyes met his and my heart was beating quickly as an uncontrollable smile grew on my lips. "I'd love too."

His face brightened as my answer was one he wanted to hear. "Really?"

"Yeah, but you have to take my somewhere nice." I joked, making him laugh.

He pushed a fallen piece of hair behind my ear and touched my cheek softly, his hand going to my chin to make me look up at him . "You're so beautiful, Bonnie. I swear, I'm not gonna fuck this up. Not like last time. I lost you once, I'm not gonna lose you a second time."

I couldn't help myself. His blue eyes were dragging me down into him and how low and rugged his voice sounded was hypnotizing me. Steven was the one person that could make me weak no matter what. And in this moment, I was weak. I pulled him toward me and placed my lips on his. It felt like fire was shooting through the both of us as the kisses got deeper and deeper. He smiled on my lips as we fell back onto the couch, already making this better than the last Christmas we shared together.

Notes

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE.

It seems that little ol' Mike has got himself a rebound girl, and he insists he's over Bonnie. What do you think? And, what about Steven and Bonnie? Are Mike's worst fears about them two coming true? As always, your feedback is appreciated :)

If I don't update by Thursday, Happy Thanksgiving you guys!
