Curtains Close; Take a bow. I think we fooled all of them now.
Chapter 80 - The ink scarred on your back may as well have disappeared
Rain's POV
It was a sticky summers afternoon. The air was warm and Sienna and Hanley were lying on the grass together. I was sat on the steps to the backdoor, listening to them talk to each other.
"Sienna." Hanley said.
"Yes?" She replied. Her gentle, high voice was adorable.
"Hold my hand." He whispered.
She reached out for him, not quite sure where he was. He took her hand and helped her onto her feet. Hanley walked her over to me. I thought of him greatly, the way he walked her around and took care of her. She admired him too.
"Where are we going?" She giggled.
"To mommy." He replied, holding her closely by his side.
"Hello!" I smiled, pulling them both into my chest. Sienna giggled. "What do you two need?"
Hanley smiled sweetly. "Is Sienna allowed to try lemonade?"
I thought about it. She was about the right age to try a few more sugary things. "Yes darling. Come on." I helped Sienna up the stairs and then fixed the two of them a small cup of lemonade with Ice. "Here you go." I passed it to them.
"Sienna, you are going to love this!" Hanley cried, sipping on the edge of the plastic cup.
She hesitated. Bringing it up to her lips, she sniffed it and then took a small sip.
"What do you think!?" Hanley excitedly squeezed her hand.
"Mmm!" She laughed. "Yummy!"
She was adorable. I kissed her on the head and helped her back outside onto the grass. It was the first summer that Hanley was able to spend with her where she could talk and walk. And I loved their company. More than anything. They would make me laugh all day long and they were my world.
