Curtains Close; Take a bow. I think we fooled all of them now.
Chapter 7 - Like A Deer In The Headlights, I Meet My Fate
We pulled into my driveway, full of conversation. She seemed excited to be with me and she was asking so any questions, i could barely keep up. I'd never met a girl who wanted to talk to me so much in my life.
"So you take people lives away from them?" She said again, my ears slightly ringing. I paused and looked her in the eye, not quite sure how to reply. "Do you have any other secret powers?" She excitedly asked.
"Well..." I said, opening the car door and stepping out, making sure she made her way safely out too. "It's going to rain in about... ten or so minutes." I said smiling.
"You can tell the weather?" She said, grabbing her stuff quickly and walking closely by my side.
"Yea, sometimes." I said, trying to impress her. She giggled hard and stood behind me, starring at my back as i fiddled with the keys to the door. Her eyes felt like razors to me.
"I bought you the food. And the iced tea." I said, laughing a little.
Her eyes lit up. "You did?" She said with a huge smile. "Thank you Oliver." Unexpectedly she wrapped her arms around my shoulders and hugged me tightly. I couldn't move. I felt paralyzed and in love as she did, and when she let go, i felt cold again.
I watched her carry her clothes up to my bedroom, and i could hear her moving about up there. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of tequila to pour us a glass each.
"Rain!" I called. "Come down, you must be hungry. I've got some Tequila." I heard her slamming her feet down my carpeted stairs towards me.
She entered the living room and sat down on my sofa, stretching out her legs as she did so. I sat down beside her and handed her the glass.
"Why is it you want to keep me here?" She shrugged, sipping gently on the rim of the cup.
"I want you alive. And i want you safe. I'm going to take proper care of you now." I reassured her and stroked her shoulder. "I care about you a lot."
She sat forward slightly and gazed into my eyes. She placed her hand on my thigh. "Oliver?" She said gently.
"Yes?" I waited for her reply.
"Is it okay to be slightly in love with you?"
Rains POV
'Slightly' in love with him was an understatement. I had totally fallen for his thick black hair, his tattoos and his huge eyes. There was so much about him that made him like no other.
I watched his expression as i told him. At first he starred at me blankly, unsure about what to say. But then he gave me a beautiful, comforting smile and leaned closer to me.
"I'm in love you too Rain. That's why i couldn't watch you die." He said to me.
I leaned over to kiss his cheek, but he swung his head to kiss my directly on the lips. I was shocked at how fast it had come across, but i felt as though he had been waiting an eternity to kiss me.
He stood up and walked away from me, grabbing his coat. "I'm sorry but i'm late." He broke the romantic moment in an instance.
"Late? For what?" I snapped, slightly peeved that he had to go just in this moment.
"My next appointment." He shouted, slamming the door, seeming also slightly upset that he had to leave.
I sighed and slammed back the tequila shot. I listened out for his car to drive away. Once i knew he was gone, i poured myself another shot and went upstairs to change into something a bit lighter. I was looking forward to seeing him when he got back.
