You're My Favorite Addiction

Chapter 15

Days had passed but yet the only thing that had crossing my mind was what was Austin planning? What made it so special that it made my mom cry? Or even so much as get my dad's approval? I mean I saw the black box, it was clearly jewelry of some sort. But would be seriously purpose this early in our relationship. I mean I know we love each other, and I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life with him. I was taken away from my thoughts when someone knocked on the door.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Hey Phoenix, are you busy at the moment?" My mom was asking through the door.

"You can come in, I'm just finishing wrapping up presents." I sighed. Looking around at all the presents I had gotten for Austin. I spent well over 400 dollars easily on him. I even got him a all expenses paid tattoo certificate. I knew he'd love that one. Considering the fair amount of tattoos that covered his body.

"Hey honey, I was wondering if you'd like to come with me to the mall? I need to pick out an outfit for Christmas dinner, since everyone is coming here tomorrow." She smiled.

"Of course." Lately I haven't spent that much time with my mom, and I feel horrible for not doing so. We used to be so close. But now with Austin and my dad being back in the picture, things have definitely changed.

Once we arrived at the mall, we headed straight for Macy's, my mom always picked out her Christmas dinner outfit here. She held up a few things but none of them really her. Then I saw this lovely maroon colored dress that was fitted, then came down into a pencil skirt.

"Mom." I sang. "I think we have a winner." I sewing it around, dangling it in front of her.

"Oh Phoenix it's perfect!" She gushed immediately running to the dressing room with it. She came out and it just hugged her body perfectly.

"Do you think it's too much?" She questioned, twirling around to look at the behind in the mirror.

"Not at all, now let's go ring up." I smiled.

I bought the the dress even though she protested against it. I told her it was an early Christmas present, and she nodded. We browsed some more through the mall. It was definitely in full swing today. Everyone doing their last minute shopping. I found the perfect outfit for tomorrow's occasions, and my mom bought that for me. As a present, I thanked her and we made our way to the car. I got in the drivers seat and my phone began to ring.

"Hello?"
"Hi baby." Oh Austin.
"What cha need Hun?" I asked.
"Oh nothing I just miss you, so I thought I'd give my favorite girl a call." Then my mom chimed in.
"I thought I was your favorite!" She giggled.
"Oh hi Mrs. Rose, and you always will be, just gotta keep that between you and me. Phoenix can't find out remember?" He chuckled.
"Anyways babe, when will you be home?" He whined, like a 4 year old.
"Ten minute, not even. So deal for that long." I laughed.
"Fineeeee, I love you baby girl."
"I love you too baby boy." I smiled as I hung up and proceeded on driving on.

"So Austin is such a nice guy Phoenix, I honestly don't think I could ever see you with anybody else." My mom sparked up a very touchy conversation.

It brought me back to thinking about what the hell was in the damn little black box. I chased the though away, and fake smiled to let my mom know nothing was wrong. Or bothering me for that matter.

"What makes you say that?" I nervously awaited the answer.

"I don't know dear, he's just made for you. I don't think God could've paired you with anyone more perfect than Austin. He just smiles at you in such a way that there's so much love there. I can see it. I think he wants to spend the rest of his days with you honey." My mom gave me an assuring smile, as I parked in the driveway. I smiled back and grabbed my outfit from the back seat.

I threw my car keys down on the counter and was greeted none other than by my father. He looked a little unhappy, but I didn't question it. I just smiled and proceeded to give him a hug and kiss on the cheek.

"How was shopping ladies?" He asked. In a rather gay manner. Causing me to chuckle.

"It was great! Phoenix picked me out this dress and I just love it!" My mom went on rambling about her dress and Christmas. I took this as the opportunity to go upstairs.

I walked into my room and saw Austin snooping through presents. What a little shit. I shook my head. I decided to ever so slowly waltz up behind him and scared him. I grabbed his love handles and screamed "BOO" at the top of my lungs.

"What the fuck!" He turned around completely out of breath. "I hate you!" He said grabbing his chest.

"Oh shit, I forgot your heart. Is it okay? I'm so sorry." I frowned getting up on my tiptoes to give it a listen. To my content the rate had gone back to normal, and sounded fine. But how would I know I'm not a doctor. I laid a single kiss on his chest, and smiled up at him.

"It's fine, I promise. It's always gonna be fine babe. You have nothing to worry about, I'm not going anywhere."
