The way his lips curved around the fag drew me in.
The small smile he held as the smoke escaped his lungs is what held me there.
“Do you smoke?”
“You’re not from around here.”
He rolled his eyes slightly as I pulled out my own packet and lit up. Silence filled the small area between the two thumping buildings around us until his shoe scraped against the pavement, successfully crushing the end of his cigarette. No words were shared between us when he pinched the rolled tobacco hanging loosely from my mouth and tossed it to the floor. The cool wall scraped my bare back as he pushed me against it and encased my mouth with his own.
Maybe it was the mdma coursing through our veins.
Maybe we just wanted to feel something.
Maybe we just wanted to feel numb.
