Angry People With Creepy Intentions

I was thinking a lot about what I said.

What if they did end up doing terrible to me?

Or mess something up really important to me?

A job? My relationship? My allowance to stay under Tony's roof?

What if they hurt someone close to me?

Tony? His mother? My mother?

Me?

So many thoughts rushed through my head.

Day in and day out.

I didn't even sleep.

I had acted as if their threat wasn't a threat,

but I knew it was.

My cousins never broke a promise before.

Except the original "I'll always stay by you, no matter the choices you make in life"

Puh.

I tossed and turned, for the third night in a row,

I couldn't sleep.

This was absolute torture.

"Babe?" Tony turned to face me, whispering as if he'd raised his voice he'd get me upset.

"Yeah?" I asked, my face now being covered by my hands.

"What's keeping you up?" He demanded, his tone a bit strict this time.

"What Mike and Vic said, Tony!" I snapped.

"You really believe those dweebs?" A booming laugh escaped him "Those fairies wouldn't know brute strength if it hit them in between their eyes."

Even with his amusing point, it didn't lower my stress level.

"But Tone, they could hire someone to hurt us." My voice now shook, which I had no more control over.

"They wouldn't, they'd want to do it themselves." He said.

"But-"

"Alyssa!" His lips twitched with amusement "Look at you, frantic over Vic and Mike Fuentes. They won't go near this house, or anywhere, I promise."

Just then, we heard what I thought sounded like glass smashing.

Oh. No!

"Did you hear that?" I asked, panic flowing through me once again.

"Yeah, and well be fine." He said, getting up and grabbing a baseball bat for a weapon.

We entered the living room and there was nothing to be seen.

I stepped into the kitchen and nearly fainted.

There, in the middle of the floor, was a dead bird, with a note attached to it.

"Tone!" I whisper-yelled.

He came rushing in, and gasped.

"Sick fucks." He muttered, crouching down to grab the note from the poor creature.

He read it out loud:

Tony and Alyssa,

Well, we delivered our note successfully if you're reading this, which means we successfully broke into your house with ease. You know what that means? You can end up like this bird, dead. Which you will, after we've done the dirty deed with your whole family. Then we'll zero on you, watch your backs carefully. You should've said sorry and left that poor swine, Alyssa. We do not take pity on you anymore. Good luck, and let the game begin!

As he read it, I cringed.

Were they just bluffing?

Or were they serious about ruining our life's?

"Don't worry, the police are going to know about this." Tony said, "Everything will be fine, everything will be fine." He repeated, something told me he was telling that to not only me, but himself.

"But Tony, what if they strike right now?"

"They could, that's why were calling the police right now, give me your phone." He demanded.

I handed him my cell and he started to dial.

"Yes, hello. I'd like to report a threat."

He continued on the phone for about 15 minutes before he hung up.

I only sat and stared blankly at the note.

My cousins never promised anything they could do or prove.

"They'll be here shortly, and they'll set up cops all around the house who will camp there to watch for anything strange."

"Okay." I said shakily.

"Alyssa, lets not tell my mom about this, okay? I don't want to freak her out." Tony said quietly.

"O-okay." I repeated.

Mike and Vic have done nothing but trouble in my life.

I wouldn't let them hurt the closest people in my life.

I wouldn't let them hurt anybody.

They would be stopped.

They would be caught.

It ends now.
