There's No Such Thing As Too Young

Forty

The dreaded sound of my alarm clock woke me up, ordering me to get up and get myself ready for school.

The holidays were now over and I was due to return to school in just over an hour.

It was safe to say I was nervous, I was dreading the day ahead.

I just had this awful feeling that something was going to happen today.

Mike rolled over next to me, opening his brown eyes.

"Go back to sleep." I murmered, stroking his cheek.

His eyes fluttered shut once again and soon he was snoring.

It always amazed me how fast he could drift to sleep.

I sighed to myself, heaving my body out of bed.

A chill ran up my spine as it was early, 7am to be exact.

I grabbed myself some underwear and clean clothes, dragging myself to the bathroom to get washed up.

Luckily, I'd showered last night.

I only needed to wash my face and scrub my teeth.

I was still half asleep as I performed my morning routine.

I'd just pulled on my clean underwear when Mike stumbled into the bathroom in his boxers, rubbing his eyes.

I quickly pulled on my jeans and jumper, still extremely self concious around him.

Mike yawned as he pulled his boxers down to go and pee.

I averted my eyes and started on my make up after clipping my hair back.

I applied my moisturiser, foundation, concealer and powder.

Mike had now joined me at the sink and was brushing his pearly teeth.

He watched me as I applied my blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara.

I kissed his bicep as I finished applying my make up and left him in the bathroom to get ready.

I threw him some boxers, basketball shorts and a jumper to change into.

The only reason he was getting up was to take me to school, I actually insisted that I'd walk but he wasn't having it.

He always took me to school.

I flopped back onto the bed, which was still warm as he got dressed.

I closed my eyes and sighed.

I could truly go back to sleep, but I had to leave soon to meet Fiona outside school.

I just had to get myself back into my routine.

I felt the bed shift as Mike climbed on it.

I moved my arm as he pushed my legs apart, which wasn't far because my jeans were tight, and settled between them.

I ran my fingers down his structured jawline.

He leaned down to kiss me softly.

"Fancy a quickie?" Mike asked against my lips.

"It's never quick with you." I chuckled.

"I don't know if I should be offended." He frowned, leaning on his forearms.

"You know I'm joking."

"Your sense of humour baffles me."

"You baffle me." I retorted.

"Touché." He grinned, lifting himself off me and rolling onto his side.

"What time is Casey coming over to help you paint?" I wondered, resting my chin on his chest.

"Around noon."

I nodded and drew lazy circles on his chest, before sitting up.

I stretched as I gathered up my bag, shoving in my phone, books and other essentials.

"It's going to be weird not having you here all day." Mike spoke.

"I finish at Three."

"I know, but I don't like you not being around me. I like it when you're at my beck and call, little slave." He grinned.

"Kiss my ass." I muttered, causing Mike to chortle.

"If you insist." He stated, grabbing my waist and pulling me into his lap.

I laughed and tried to pull away as he bit my shoulder.

"Stop! You're going to make me late!" I exclaimed, struggling in his strong grip.

"Okay, okay." Mike spoke, thankfully stopping but keeping me in his lap.

I glanced at the clock again.

"We need to leave." I informed him, reluctantly pulling away.

Mike sighed and pouted like a child, heaving himself up.

He followed me out of the bedroom, greeting the cat and dog like they were his children.

He grabbed his car keys and ushered me to his Cadillac.

The sun was actually shining brightly today and the air was slightly warm, which meant that spring was already arriving in San Diego, despite it only being January.

The ride to school was quick and Mike pulled up along the curb, careful to not hit any students were were entering the school grounds.

My heart was pounding as I saw all the students bustling through the gate.

I noticed Fiona stood waiting for me though, leaning against the wall and fiddling with her bag strap.

I turned to Mike.

"I'll see you later, Baby." I mumbled, stroking his cheek.

"I'll be here to pick you up, Casey will tag along too." He informed me.

He leaned in to give me a kiss and I pecked his lips.

"I'll text you at break." I called, opening the car door and stepping out.

Mike nodded and blew me an additional kiss as I shut the door and walked around the car to meet Fiona.

She looked up as I advanced her.

She hugged me tightly and I laughed.

"You only saw me the other day!" I giggled, pulling away and linking my arm through hers as we strolled into school.

Fiona shrugged and just grinned.

We entered a busy hall way and weaved in and out of students to get to our lockers.

"That's a brave move." She told me, glancing my way and she retrieved her maths book out of her locker.

"What is?" I frowned, confused as to what she was talking about.

"You're wearing your ring." She pointed out, I looked down at the hand that was resting against my locker.

Oops, I forgot about that.

"Yeah, I completely forgot to take it off this morning." I mumbled, seeing my engagement ring sparking under the harsh lights.

Fiona looked at me strangely when I didn't proceed to remove it.

"Aren't you going to take it off?" She wondered, shutting her locker and holding her books to her chest.

"Nope." I told her, shaking my head.

She nodded and smiled, linking our arms together again as we made our way to our first class, which we had together.

There were a few other students in the classroom as we arrived and took our seats.

"Are you seeing Tone after school?" I asked Fiona, resting my chin on my hand.

"Yeah, he's taking me to get frozen yoghurt." She told me, tapping her pen against the desk.

"Cliché." I chuckled.

"Atleast I don't have a bite mark on my neck." She retorted, pointing to my neck.

I gasped and covered the side of my neck.

"I'm gonna kill him!" I exclaimed quietly, rubbing the skin.

"You Two are so weird, you're made for eachother. What's he doing today, anyway?"

"Him and Casey are being good housewives and painting the bedroom."

"Haha, he's your bitch." She laughed, tucking her dark hair behind her ears.

I rolled my eyes and agreed, turning to look at the door as Megan Fowler walked into the room.

Unfortunately, I had this class with her and she never failed to make me feel uncomfortable or nervous.

She made eye contact with me and I looked away as she smirked, focusing my eyes onto the desk, which had the names of past pupils carved into the ageing wood.

Just as Megan took her seat, our tutor walked in, immediately commencing with the lesson.

I sighed and ducked my head, worried as to what Megan was planning.

I was distracted for the rest of the morning, as Paige, Megan's friend seemed to be everywhere I was.

I was scratching at my hands when lunch rolled around as I was waiting for Fiona outside of the Science building, so we could go to the caferteria.

I was on edge and extremely paranoid.

"Hey! Franklin! I want to talk to you!" Someone bawled across the grounds, csusing my neck hairs to stand on end.

I looked over and saw Megan with her friends headed my way.

My heart leaped out of my chest and my palms were sweating.

Megan was grinning venomously as she finally reached me, towering over my frail body.

I took a step back, but my body collided with someone elses.

I jumped and whimpered.

"What's up, Franklin? We're just welcoming you back, no need to be so worried." She soothed, patting my head.

I winced and tried to pull away, but the body behind me secured my arms to my sides.

I tried to shake away but they only gripped me tighter, making me sure that it was a male presence behind me.

I yelped at the pain in both arms.

"Paige, hand me my water. I'm a little...thirsty." Megan announced, causing her crew to snicker.

I was shaking and on the verge of crying, my eyes were filling up and I just wanted Fiona to hurry up and come help me.

Megan was biting her lip as she was handed her water, uncapping it and staring from me to the liquid.

"You look thirsty, Millie. Do you want some water?" She asked me.

"N-no." I stuttered, still trying to free my arms.

"I think you do." She replied maliciously, quickly throwing the water over me.

I gasped as the freezing liquid made contact with my face and completely soaked my clothes and hair.

The boy behind me released me and I dropped to the floor in shock, my body convulsing as I shivered and eventually cried.

I could hear her and her friends laughing at my expense.

"Millie! Millie! Stay the fuck away from her, I'm getting Mr Brookes!" I heard Fiona growl as she ran towards us, finally coming to help me.

Her feet slapped against the tarmac as she advanced towards me, and Megan scattered, along with her followers.

Fiona dropped to her knees beside me and tried pulling my hands away from my face.

By this time we had already gained an audience who were just as shocked as me at what just happened.

It all happened so quickly.

What did I ever do to Megan to deserve this?

I was humiliated.

Fiona got me to my feet and had her arm around me, lifting my bag back onto my shoulder from where it had fallen with me.

"What happened? Why did she do this?" She inquired, wiping away my tears as they poured down my face.

I shook my head and cried more.

"Come on, Mills. Let's go and get you dry, we'll go and find Mr Brookes." She soothed, rubbing my back.

I shook my head profously.

"No, I want Mike. I'm going home to Mike, I don't want to be here." I sobbed, hiccuping away as I spoke.

"Okay, Mills. I'll tell everyone that you went home ill, I'm going to kill Megan too." She rumbled, looking around and glaring at the poeple who were watching us, causing them to disperse quickly.

I nodded at her words and pulled away from her embrace, keeping my head low because I was so incredibly embarrassed.

"Are you calling Mike to come and get you?"

"I'm just gonna walk, I'll see you later." I sniffled, making a swift exit down the grounds and out of the gates, leaving Fiona behind.

I let myself cry as I left all the trouble behind.

Things would be easier if I was dead, I wouldn't have to put up with this anymore.

If I ended my life, I could finally escape the tormeting.

Maybe, that was the only option.

Outfit!

Poor Millie! Did you expect that to happen?! What will Mike say? Will she make it home or will her thoughts get to her?!

What do you think will happen now?!

I'm so sorry that this story is so long, I never anticipated it being this long! It's slowly but surely coming to an end and then I can focus on the consequence!
