There's No Such Thing As Too Young

Fourteen

Waking up the next morning, I was wrapped up in Mike's arms.

I reluctantly got out of bed, getting myself ready for the hell hole I called school.

I was stood at the bathroom counter, looking into the mirror as I covered my face in powder to set my foundation and concealer.

I dropped the brush onto the counter as I finished.

I closed my eyes as I thought about last nights events.

A smile worked it's way onto my lips.

Mike made me feel so wanted and loved.

He could make me feel so many different emotions by just kissing or talking to me.

I was so caught up in my daydream that I jumped when I felt long arms wrap around my waist.

"Morning." Mike whispered into my ear, pressing a kiss to my shoulder.

"Hi." I said quietly, regaining my composture and applying my eyeshadow.

"Are you feeling okay?" He asked, making our gazes lock as we stared at eachother in the mirror.

Mike was wearing his boxers, a vest and a beanie.

A different choice of attire.

"I feel fine." I answered, brushing my dark eyelashes with the carbon coloured mascara.

"I'll just brush my teeth and I'll drop you at school." Mike explained, grabbing his toothbrush that he kept here.

I finished my make up a few minutes later.

I decided to bug Mike.

I grabbed the beanie Mike was wearing, and pulled it over my unruly hair.

"Hey!" He exclaimed, jabbing my waist.

I danced out of the way and giggled.

I couldn't believe he was leaving tomorrow morning.

I was going to miss his company so much for the next few weeks.

I knew that Fiona was going to miss Tony too.

Twenty minutes later Mike and I were fully dressed and in his car, on the way to school.

"I'll be here when you get out, beautiful." Mike told me, brushing his hand against my cheek as we parked in the carpark.

I wasn't worried about people seeing us as his car windows were tinted.

"I don't wanna go." I pouted, and Mike chuckled.

"I don't want you to either, baby! But your education is so important!"

"I love you."

"I love you too, will you call me to come and get you if anything happens?" Mike asked, furrowing his brow.

"Mm." I nodded.

Obviously I wouldn't tell him, I knew he'd go off on a tangent.

"Bye, babe." He told me, kissing me quickly before I jumped out the car.

I shut the door and Mike sped off.

I made my way to the tree where I normally met Fiona, anxiously looking around to see if anyone was approaching me.

I hummed quietly to myself, picking my nails nervously.

"Millie!" I heard Fiona shout, making me look up and start walking over to her with my arms folded over my chest.

She ran the rest of the way to me, practically jumping on me in a hug.

"What's got you so happy? Surely, you cant be pleased that Tony is leaving tomorrow?" I asked, chuckling.

"I had such an amazing night with him." She said dreamily, linking her arm with mine as we walked into the school building.

"Yeah? What did you do?"

"Tony." She giggled, resting her head on my shoulder.

"That's gross." I told her, scrunching my nose up.

"Like you didn't bang Mike." She scoffed, stopping at her locker to get her books out for first period.

"I'm not having this discussion with you."

"Please! Give me the details! This is what best friends do! I'll tell you about Tony!" She offered, raising her eyebrows.

"No way!" I exclaimed as the bell rang.

"I'm gonna get the dirty deets out of you at some point today, I'll see you period Two." Fiona told me, patting my cheek before walking away.

I rolled my eyes and started the walk down the crowded hallway, on my way to maths class.

I was slightly anxious as I was surrounded by so many bodies, but I took a deep breath and continued walking.

"Skank." I heard someone say behind me, their breath hitting my neck.

I looked behind me to see Paige Tandy, a friend of Megan's.

I hastily turned back around, picking up the pace.

Suddenly, I felt my hair get a yank.

"Ow!" I cried, pulling away.

I heard Paige laugh from behind me, and I didn't waste another minute.

I dodged people in the crowd and went straight to class, my cheeks red from wanting to cry.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and took my seat at the back of the room, where I sat alone.

Luckily, nobody was in here that gave me grief.

So, I took this time in class to calm myself down and think without having to worry about something happening.

I found it hard to concentrate for the hour that slowly passed.

I made feeble notes, mainly just scribbling in the text book.

Finally, class was over and I now had Biology with Fiona.

We sat at the back again, watching everybody wonder in.

Fiona nudged my side, and I turned to look at her.

"Yes?"

"I was serious about wanting the dirty deets, you know." She told me, keeping her voice low as there were Two girls sitting directly infront of us.

"I'm not telling you anything." I chuckled, tapping my pen against the table.

"Please! Will you tell me if I tell you about Tony and I?"

"Oh yeah, I'm really interested in knowing about the hot sex you and your boyfriend shared last night." I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes.

"Good, because I'm gonna tell you anyway. He was so rough, better than any other guys I've been with. He knew every, single spot that got me going. We were going at it for hours, it was amazing!" She gushed quickly, and I cringed in disgust.

"I'm never going to be able to look at Tony the same again, and you owe me for pretending you were at mine last night." I crinkled my nose up.

Fiona laughed.

"Haha! Okay, i'll buy you some tea. I don't know what I'm gonna do without Tomy though." Fiona said, getting serious again.

"Same here, I've grown so accustomed to having Mike around me the last few months, it's like he's a permanent fixture." I mumbled, watching as the last few people arrived to the class.

"Ugh, you're making me sad." Fi grumbled, running her fingers through her hair.

"Sorry, let's stop talking about it." I chuckled, the class soon fell silent as the tutor walked in.

Sigh.

The day couldn't pass by fast enough.

Soon enough, lunch time rolled round.

Fiona and I were sat at our usual table, scrolling through our boyfriends tags on tumblr.

I noticed a few pictures on there that Mike posted of us on Instagram.

He always made sure not to show my face.

There was One from our first date at the country park, One of our interlaced hands from a walk we shared, and one of him spooning me, just showing our legs pressed together.

I didn't mind that he posted these, although he was a frequent subject between the alternative groups in our school.

People were dying to know who this 'whore' was that he was with.

I admit, it did upset me slightly that they were calling me a whore, when I clearly wasn't.

"I don't know why she comes in here, it's not like she eats anything." I heard a voice say, keeping their tone purposely loud.

I looked up to see Megan perched on a table just a few metres away from us, her usual smirk plastered on her too dark face.

I rolled my eyes, knowing the comment was about me.

"Erm, I'm going somewhere else." I told Fiona, who noticed my distress as I stood up with my bag.

"I'll come with you." She nodded, grabbing hers too.

Unfortunately for us, we had to walk past the table Megan was at, with her little posse.

I tried to scurry past after Fiona, but someone pushed me and I stumbled, catching my side on the edge of the table.

I winced and called out in pain as I lifted myself up, hearing the shrill laughter from Megan.

"Jesus! Why do you have to be such a bitch?!" I heard Fiona growl, wrapping an arm around my waist as she helped me stand.

"Sorry? What was that? I can't hear you over the sound of that skank crying." Megan giggled, nudging her friend.

It was true, I was crying.

My side hurt so bad.

Fiona saved me further humiliation and ushered me out of the caferteria, my face was red with embarassment as I felt everyone staring at me.

She guided me into the bathroom, pushing me into an empty stall.

She wiped my face with her cardigan sleeve, hugging me after.

My side was throbbing, as I just about caught the edge of my ribcage.

"Do you think you've broken a rib?" She asked, biting her lip.

"I don't think so." I mumbled, sniffing.

She lifted the bottom on my jumper, pulling it under my bra.

"It's bruising already."

"How the hell am I going to hide this from Mike?" I whimpered, running my fingers over the bruise that was already a light purple.

"Just don't take your clothes off."

I let out a weak chuckle at her advice.

"I didn't plan on it."

We stayed in the toilets until our next class together, which actually happened to be a study period in the libary.

My side was aching worse than before now.

I was typing away on the laptop infront of me.

My phone buzzed in my bag, and I jumped slightly.

Fiona looked at me in question, her eyebrows raised.

I pulled my phone out, looking at the screen.

I made sure to keep it hidden from the libarian who was sat at her desk.

I looked at the text.

From: Mike <3
Received: 1:56
I miss you! Only Two hours until I get to see you! <3

Butterflies erupted in my tummy, and my cheeks heated up.

To: Mike
Sent: 1:57
I miss you too! <3

I put my phone back in my bag after I sent the message, going back to work.

The butterflies were still swarming in my tummy.

But, a new feeling made itself known.

Guilt?

Sadness?

Who knows, who cares?
