Chapter One

After leaving the living space, Vic retreated to the bathroom in the back of the bus. He locked the door behind him, reaching into his back pack. He pulled out a pack of gum. Pushing aside the coloured-foil wrapped gum, a small silver, pencil-sharpener blade was revealed. Vic squinted as he pulled it out of the pack, leaving the gum on the edge of the sink.

He carefully lifted the short sleeve on his shirt, glancing over the old, fading scars. He then retaliated and decided to try his thighs. Easier to hide, less obvious. He pulled his skinny jeans to his knees, lifting the fabric of his boxers. Scars littered the skin on his thighs, varying from barely-there, shallow scars, to deep, red scars. They were all fairly old, the last time he had cut being six months ago. In a moment of swift thinking, Vic broke the lengthy time clean, pressing the blade to his thigh, dragging it across horizontally.

One for being gay; for being an abomination to his family.

One for loving a straight guy.

One for worrying Mike.

One for letting Mike down.

One for being a hypocrite to his fans

One for being fucked up.

Repeat the process.

Repeat it again.

Repeat it once more.

And now, on the other thigh, all over the other thigh.

Vic shot back to reality, realising that his thighs now had forty-eight self-inflicted wounds, and were covered in blood. He silently cursed himself as he reached under the sink for the first-aid kit. He carefully wrapped his thighs in gauze, securing them with surgical tape. Vic then proceeded to pull his jeans back up, hide his blade in the pack of gum, and exit the bathroom.

*Meanwhile, on the Sleeping With Sirens bus*

"I hate Tumblr!" Justin declared, closing his laptop in defeat.

"Why, what did the Tumblr-people do this time?" Kellin asked incredulously, refraining from bursting into hysterics at Justin's love/hate relationship towards the blogging website.

"They made a meme out of me again," Justin whined. Kellin snorted, grabbing the laptop and reopening it. A photo of Justin with an unphotogenic expression on a photo of the doge meme, with the caption 'much punk rock' amongst others, on it in rainbow-coloured Comic Sans.

"Even if you hate it, I, for one, love it." Kellin smirked in response. Justin rolled his eyes, snatching his laptop back and continuing to scroll through his dashboard.

"I don't know how much you're going to love it anymore," Justin grinned, stifling a giggle, "they got you, as well." Kellin furrowed his brows, looking over at the screen. A photo of him and Vic Fuentes was on the screen, arms linked, with the captions "5ever strait" "totes not gay" "heterosexual boyz" "we're not datin wtf u talkin bout" spread across the photo in Comic Sans. Kellin turned bright red.

"Aw, they're catching on to Kelly's wittle crush on Victor," Justin cooed jokingly, earning a slap in response. Kellin did not have a crush on Vic, no matter what his bandmates said. He just looked up to Vic, that was all. He was straight, but his bandmates were convinced he liked it 'up the ass', as Justin put it.

"For the ten-billionth time, Justin, I'm straight." Kellin snapped. Justin nodded sarcastically, "okay, buddy, whatever you say."

Kellin groaned and went to his bunk, crawling into the small space. He quickly rolled himself into a small ball, hugging his knees to his chest.

Back in the living space, Gabe came out of the miniature kitchenette, and into the living space, joining Justin on their small couch.

"Wasn't Kellin out here just five minutes ago?" Gabe furrowed his brow in confusion.

"He was," Justin sighed, "then I saw something on Tumblr and made a joke about him having a crush on Vic, he flipped out, and left."

"That makes more sense," Gabe chuckled lightly, "he's completely in denial."

"Oh, Ijust look up to him," Justin mimicked Kellin, "we all know exactly what's up, he just doesn't want to believe it."

"I feel like maybe he thinks liking Vic would fuck over their friendship, and that's why he refuses to admit it, even to himself," Gabe considered, "but Vic doesn't seem 100% straight himself. I don't know if it's just me, but I could've sworn he was checking out that ginger kid from Of Mice & Men at a festival a few weeks ago."

"It wasn't just you, I saw it too," Justin nodded. Jack walked out from the back of the bus.

"Jack, do you think Kellin's in denial about liking Vic?" Gabe asked. Jack whirled around from where he now stood in the kitchenette.

"Yeah. You can tell by the look in his eyes when he's around Vic. I know that look, it's the look of being head over heels." he responded, putting a sandwich together.

"He keeps getting pissed when we tease him about it," Justin griped, adjusting his position on the couch.

"Why wouldn't he? I mean, you guys are teasing him for something he's denying. He definitely doesn't want to admit that he likes Vic, and teasing him about it is just going to make him feel worse about it then he already does," Jack pointed out. A look of realisation dawned on Justin's face. The group went silent as they heard footsteps from the other end of the bus. An exhausted-looking Kellin walked out, looking at his band members in confusion.

"Why did you all go silent when I walked out," he asked suspiciously. His band mates shrugged and exchanged glances of faux-confusion.

"What were you guys talking about?" Kellin continued interrogating.

"How much I hate Tumblr," Justin blurted. The others nodded quickly, attempting to cover up the fact that they were just discussing him. Kellin sighed loudly, rolling his eyes as he walked to the kitchenette. Gabe, Jack, and Justin whispered to each other for a moment, coming up with a plan, then leading to Justin and Jack leaping up and running to their bunks. Kellin whipped around, nearly dropping his mug of tea as he attempted to comprehend what had just happened.

"Kellin, c'mere a minute," Gabe nodded, patting the space on the couch next to him. Kellin eyed him suspiciously before taking his tea to the couch and sitting down next to his bandmate.

"What's up, Kells? You don't talk to me anymore, what's going on, man?" Gabe said quickly, clearly trying to hide something.

"Gabe, we've been in the same studio every single day for the past three months. I think you know what's up," Kellin responded incredulously. He sighed, "spit it out, what do you want."

"We need to talk-" Gabe started.

"About?" Kellin cut him off.

"Vic. We need to talk about Vic."
