Fast Times at Clairemont High

"Azalea! Where the hell where you?!" My father screamed. I looked at him, scared.

"Father, please just listen to me-" I started. My British accent started to show when I was upset. I tried my best to hide it, but it was no use.

"No! Tell me where you've been!" My mother shouted. She was very red in the face.

"Mum, I-" I stammered.

"I am your Mother, not your Mum! Answer the goddamn question Azalea!" My mother was enraged.

"I don't know where I was, but I just came back to a living fucking hell." I said calmly, my false American accent faltering. I ran up the stairs and slammed the door shut. I started to phone Lyric when I heard a slight knock on the door followed by sniffles.

"Come in, Aud." I said. I decided I couldn't hide my accent at home, it was already hard enough at school. Audrey shuffled into my room, her eyes red.

"Why don't they just split up, so we can just be happy?! Father thought it was better for them to stay together, but they made it even worse!" She cried, falling to the floor.

"Oh, Aud. You know there's nothing we could possibly do. We just have to wait for them to realize they're breaking us." I said, trying to console my little sunshine.

out to play." I sang. She dried her tears and got up. She gave me a hug. I layed her on my bed, and she fell asleep in my arms. I carried her back to her room and let her sleep.

I put on my favorite AC/DC shirt and orange skinny jeans. I slipped on my trusty black Doc Martens and grabbed my back pack. I was greeted by Vic in his car, waiting for me. I hopped in the front seat.

"Hey, where's everyone else?" I asked. He turned to look at me.

"They hopped into Hime's car." he said.

"Well, thanks for picking me up." I said. He gave me a smile.

"No problem. I hope this doesn't sound weird, but you feel like a sister to me. You care for everyone, and you have an awesome heart." he said. It didn't sound weird at all, actually.

"Hehe, thanks. It's not weird at all, Vic." I said, flashing him a genuine smile. We pulled into the school parking lot. I hopped out of the car.

"Hey, Lyric!" I said, waving. Lyric waved at me with a big smile on her face. "You seem happy, what's up?" I asked. Shit, I didn't cover up my accent.

"HOLY SHIT GUYS SHE'S GOT AN ACCENT!" Jaime yelled, and he ran over to me and poked my cheek. I glared at him. "So, where did you come from then?" he asked.

"London." I replied curtly. Well, now everyone knows I'm a weirdo from London. Great.

Jaime picked me up and put me on his back. I laughed.

"Jaime, put me down, I'm gonna break your back! I'm too heavy!" I said.

"Nuh-uh, you're super light!" he said.

"Cause you're strong, idiot!" I screeched. He laughed and lowered me down. I noticed that Vic was walking slowly behind us, not joining in the fun.

"Vic, what's wrong?" I asked, walking back to him. They boys and Lyric were being so loud and obnoxious they didn't even notice Vic.

"Uh, nothing. I'm just a little tired." He said. I knew he wasn't tired, because I was tired everyday.

"Vic, please don't lie to me. I don't like seeing you sad. I makes me upset." I said. He just gave me a hug and kept on walking.
