Fast Times at Clairemont High

I grabbed Audrey's hand as we walked to her therapy. It wasn't terribly far from our house, only about 20 minutes.

A rush of air blew against me as I entered the therapist's office. She had a fan turned on to hi, and was adjusting it as we walked in.

"Hello, Audrey. Who are you?" She asked, pointing at me with a French manicured finger.

"I'm her older sister, Azalea. May I stay with her through her therapy?" I asked politely.

"Definitely, as long as you stay quiet." She said. We sat down and Audrey was still holding my hand.

"Now, sweetheart, tell me why you tried to end your life." The therapist asked.

"My parents have been fighting a lot, and my sister was trying to help me through it. She tried, but it wasn't enough. The things my parents said about her made me so upset. She was a good girl, not anywhere near what they described. Also, things at school have been getting worse. My grades are failing, kids are bullying me. So, I wanted to end it all. I wanted to let Azalea know it wasn't her fault, so I wrote her a letter. Then I took the medicine and blacked out." Audrey said. The therapist, Mrs. Gene, just nodded and scribbled words down on her clipboard.

"Did you happen to bring this note?" She asked. I nodded and handed it to her. I had carried it around ever since I received it. She read over it and nodded, handing it back. With that, we left.

We walked over to Jaime's house. I had Audrey on my back, and she was giggling.

"Will Tony be there?" She asked hopefully. I nodded, and she cheered. She was in love with him, I swear. She was really close to everyone, even Mike. Everyone enjoyed her optimism. She was closest to Tony. She always wanted to be with him, and just him. It was cute actually. Her first crush.

I knocked on the door, and Jaime's mother answered.

"Hey, mom, who is it?" Jaime yelled from his bedroom.

"Azalea and Audrey!" She answered, gesturing me and Audrey inside. We walked into his bedroom and saw him and Tony laying on the floor. Naturally, Audrey jumped onto Tony and he tickled her. I helped Jaime up and gave him a kiss.

"Why were you on the floor?" I asked. Jaime laughed.

"I said I didn't like turtles..." He laughed. I suspected the Tony and him started fighting.

"You're such a weirdo, Hime." I said. He gave me a kiss on the bridge of my nose.

"Yes, but you love me." He replied and I giggled.

"I think you guys are really helping her." I said with a genuine smile spreading across my lips. My phone buzzed and I got a text from Lyric.

From: Lyric
Moving in with the Fuentes'!

To: Lyric
What?! You're so lucky!!! At least you can get away from your crazy parent...

From: Lyric
Vic says Hi!!!! Don't tell Lyric I stole her phone!

I laughed at the last message. Wow, Vic was real mature.
