What Happened?

Chapter Six

“Vic, are you okay?” Tay asked worriedly after Vic seemed to space out when she asked her next question. Vic seemed like he wasn’t even there.
He was so deep in thought, it was like the world around him stopped. That one question just kept floating around in his head.
Why?
And he voiced that.
“What?” Kellin asked.
“Why? Why did you sleep with another person?” Vic asked hurt lacing his voice.
“Vic,” Kellin sighed and got off of the couch and on his knee, kneeling in front of Vic and looking him in the eyes.
“I was in a foggy mindset okay? It had nothing to do with you, I was hurt and frustrated and scared and I was not thinking straight. I regret it every day, Vic, I told you. I only find you attractive in that way.” Kellin carefully explained paying extra care as to how he articulated his words. Tears polled up in Vic’s eyes. Kellin turned around and looked at Tay.
“Can we have a minute?” he asked. She just nodded and left the room. Kellin took a deep breath.
“Remember the last time we kissed, like, actually kissed?” he mumbled looking at Vic’s lips intently. Vic shook his head.
“I do,” Kellin whispered.
-Three weeks ago-
“Kellin!” I called from the kitchen to my boyfriend. I couldn’t reach the top shelf of the cabinet above the oven. He walked in and saw my situation.
“What can’t you reach?” He smiled in amusement. He wasn’t much taller than me but he was tall enough to reach some things that I couldn’t.
I just pouted.
“The taco shells,” I mumbled.
“Why am I not surprised?” He chuckled and reached over me, grabbing the item in question.
“Thank-,”
I was cut off when I felt his warm soft lips on mine. Well then. I responded just as eagerly moving my lips in time with his. He licked my bottom lip and I opened my mouth letting him gain dominance. I placed my arms around his neck and pulled him closer. What? It’s been a while okay we are busy people. He gripped my hips and began grinding his bottom half to mine causing me to let out a little moan. He smirked against my lips. And then it all stopped suddenly when there was a knock at the door. Fuck, just when I was about to get some action!! Ugh.
Thankfully I didn’t have a huge..uh…problem downstairs so I fixed my hair and opened the door.
“Hi Mrs. Bostwick, we weren’t expecting you! Come on in!” I tried to cover up the fact that her son had just turned me on.
“Hi Vic,” She gave me a warm smile which I returned.
“Uhh, Kellin!” I called.
“Mom?” He asked confused. I stood awkwardly and watched the exchange.
“Hi Kellin….Um Vic would you mind if we had a minute alone?” She asked. I just nodded and went to go back to the kitchen but Kellin grabbed my shoulder gently and kept me in place.
“Vic is my boyfriend, we live together you can say whatever you have to in front of him,” he explained. She just shrugged and continued on what she was going to say.
“My father, your grandpa passed away two days ago at the hospital of lung cancer,”
Kellin just kept a neutral expression at the news.
“I know you two weren’t close…at all. But he would’ve wanted you at his funeral,” She continued after a second to let the news sink in. “The thing is…He wasn’t exactly accepting of…” she trailed off.
“Gays,” I filled in for her. She nodded and I saw anger flash in Kellin’s eyes.
“You don’t want me to bring my boyfriend of six years to my own Grandpa’s funeral?” He snapped with a cold expression.
“You know how most of the family is Kellin. I love Vic, you know that I would love for him to be able to attend with you but…” Kellin just shook his head.
“Unless Vic is there I’m not going,” He stated calmly. By the tone of his voice I knew I nor his mother could’ve persuaded him.
“Kellin-,”
“I’m not arguing about this.”
“Alright,” she sighed in defeat. “Bring him but could you keep it down on the…uh…affection?” she stuttered out. Kellin just chuckled humorlessly.
“I can’t kiss him,” he clarified. She nodded.
“Fine,”
“I’m going to leave now,” She suddenly said relieving a bit of the tension in the room. He nodded.
“Love you,” she said giving him a side hug. He nodded.
“And we have to discuss your father’s trust fund sometime,” she reminded him, he stiffened but nodded. I hated seeing Kellin like this. He just turned off his emotions and I didn’t like it.
Kellin’s mom finally exited the house after a little wave to me.
When the door was finally shut Kellin pushed me up against it and attached his lips to mine.
“Where were we?” He mumbled. I pushed lightly at his chest.
“Are you alright?” I asked, a little worried at how Kellin was acting.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Great. Little horny, great.” He rambled.
“Kellin,” I sighed.
I’m fine.” He cut me off. He put his hands on my hips and pressed himself closer to me. He pressed a soft innocent kiss to my lips which I hesitantly returned.
“Alright,”
He smirked and…well you can guess what happened after that…
-present-
Tears spilled down his face as Vic was reminded.
“I love you, Vic, I love you more than anything. It’s actually kind of scary how much I actually love you because I would do anything to make you stop crying. Even if I had to kill myself I would if it would make you happy,” Kellin ranted. A smile slowly crept onto Vic’s face at his words.
“Same,” he whispered. Kellin could barely hear him but he did and smiled at that one word.
Kellin slowly inched his face closer to Vic’s and they kissed, their lips moved in sync slowly. It was probably the best thing either of them had ever felt. There were no lies there was nothing kept in anymore.
They pulled away and looked at each other. Vic humorlessly chuckled.
"Why are we here?" Vic asked looking around at the brightly colored white washed walls. "Is it worth it Kells? I mean is there even a point in trying anymore," He sighed and looked at the ground.
"I'm sorry," Kellin whispered. Vic looked up at him.
"I'm sorry, Vic, all I've ever done was make our relationship harder than it had to be. I don't deserve you." Kellin shook his head at himself.
They were sent into a long silence, both thinking about the conversation.
"Tay!" Vic finally called breaking the silence.
