Runaway

Rachel opened the door of the car. Darren had just walked out of the warehouse. She hurried over to him and threw her arms around him. Darren hugged her to him and Rachel stepped back. She looked over him and saw his hand was bleeding. "What happened? she asked quickly.
"Calm down." he told her.
"How did you hurt your hand?" she asked quickly.
"Rachel, he's fine." Tony said from behind her.
"Are they still in there?" she asked.
"Megan wishes." one of the guys laughed.
"What do you mean?" Rachel asked.
"Did you kill her?" Rissa asked hopefully.
"They got over confident when I tried to grab one of them but grabbed their knife instead. When they saw I didn't stop they got scared. They ran out the back, telling Megan to stay away from them as they did so." Darren explained.
"Where is Megan?" Mike asked.
"In there." Darren said, "probably waiting for us to leave. She'll need stitches."
"What happened to her?"
"I hit her." Darren said simply. "I don't care if you're a woman. If you hurt my little sister I'm going to hurt you." he said.
"Darren." Rachel said and he looked down at her. "Thank you." she told him.
"No problem." he shrugged. "She won't be bothering you anymore. If she does just give me a call." he said.
"You're not going?" she frowned.
"When I get my stuff, yeah." he nodded. "I've got stuff to get back to. I dropped everything to come and do this for you."
"I know, sorry." she sighed.
"Now let's go back." he urged.
Rachel went to Rissa's car. She got inside with Tony and was squeezed up against Vic and Jaime. Rissa sat in the drivers seat with Mike sitting shotgun. As Rissa drove Rachel watched the car behind. Darren was driving.
Part of her wanted Darren to leave so she could behave normally. She wouldn't have to worry about him getting angry at Tony. She loved him but he was too much like her father. She was always more like her mother. But there was a small part of her that would miss him. He looked after her. She had done some truly horrible things for him but she never got badly hurt. He would never let anyone physically hurt her. She would be able to see him more often now he knew where she lived and had her number, but that wouldn't stop her from missing her any less.
They parked up outside Rachel's apartment. They all got out of their cars and walked to the door. Rachel opened up and led them up to her apartment. As soon as they had walked through Darren and the guys started to sort their things. Tony took Rachel's hand and squeezed it.
"Thanks." Rachel mumbled.
Darren put his bags on the floor. The other guys walked past her and waited out in the corridor. Rachel hugged him and he smiled into her hair. "I'll call you soon." he told her.
"I'll come to visit you soon. Just make sure nothing crazy happens." she told him, making him smile.
"I will. You have to call Dad though. He made me promise."
"I will." she agreed. She kissed his cheek and he squeezed her hand.
"Look after my sister, Perry." Darren warned.
"Always." he nodded.
"I mean it. If she calls me crying I'm cutting your head off and putting it on your mothers lawn."
"I'll bare it in mind." Tony smiled a little.
"One thing." Rachel said.
"Just one." he rolled his eyes.
"Don't get arrested."
"I'll try my best." Darren laughed. Then he kissed Rachel's cheek. "Bye guys!" he waved to the others.
"Thank you, for everything." Tony said.
"No problem, you're a good guy." he nodded. Then he walked out. Rachel closed the door and turned to the others.
"All done." Tony said.
"I know." Rachel grinned. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss. Tony lifted her up and she laughed. No more Megan.
