I wish I wasn't here. Everyone is staring at me. Even people I don't know. They're all looking at me because I'm the woman who kissed Vic. I'm the one who had it announced by Vic's girlfriend that I'm pregnant. They don't know who's baby it is. But Vic does. He's probably hoping I'm about to say I've been having sex left, right and centre. But I don't.
"Can we go somewhere else?" Katelynne asks crossly.
She's really pissed off now, I can tell. She's doing that thing with her eyes where she keeps on looking around her really quickly, making her look like she has a lazy eye.
"Leave please!" Vic called.
"Let's go upstairs, Vic," Austin said.
I think that confirmed everything for Vic. He nodded mutely. Katelynne was holding my hand. She urged me up stairs and Vic walked ahead. He opened a door for us and we were in a make shift recording studio. There was a sofa and I was pushed down onto it. When I looked around I realised who was actually here. Katelynne. Austin. Alan. Kellin. Vic. Mike. Jaime. Tony. Well, let's open a bottle of Jack Daniels and have a party. Everyone is sitting down now all looking at me. Katelynne is glaring at everyone.
"If I ever see that bitch again . . ." she trailed away.
"Kate," Kellin tried.
"She's never seeing Cope,"
"Yes," Kellin sighed tiredly.
Then Katelynne turned to me and pulled me into a hug. She squeezed me tightly and only pulled away when someone coughed awkwardly. I sometimes think that Kellin wrote If You Can't Hang about Katelynne's multiple personalities.
"How?" Alan asked.
"They didn't teach you in high school?" I mocked.
"You know what I mean," he growled. "I mean who got you pregnant?"
I can't speak. Jaime, Mike and Tony are confused why they have to be here. Only Austin and Katelynne know that Vic is the father. I'm just staring at Vic, hoping everyone will understand and I won't have to say it.
"Why are you staring at Vic?" Jaime laughed nervously.
"No," Alan growled. "Please fucking tell me it's not him,"
"Vic?! You said I knew him . . . But Christ Zee! How could you be so stupid?!" Kellin yelled.
"I'm not stupid! I don't need you saying this shit to me," I called.
Kellin looked and me then rounded on Vic. He glared angrily and balled his hands up into fists.
"You slept with my sister in law?" Kellin asked dangerously.
"Fuck your sister in law! You slept with my best friend?!" Alan growled.
"I don't know," Vic muttered.
"Calm down," Austin tried.
"Is it true, Vic?" Tony asked.
"I don't know. She can't be pregnant," Vic said.
"You definitely are?" Jaime asked.
"I went with her to the scan. You fucked her life up good," Kellin spat.
"Vic," Mike sighed. "Why did you do it? You shouldn't have taken the risk,"
"It's not like I planned for this to happen," Vic muttered.
"So you're blaming Zee?" Austin asked quietly.
"He didn't say that," Jaime told him.
"I can't do this," Vic sighed.
He stood up. He grabbed and his hair. Then Vic started walking to the door. He waited and looked back. I saw him mouth 'sorry' to me. Thanks Vic.
"Don't you dare run away," Mike threatened.
"What am I supposed to do?!" he exclaimed.
"This isn't your fault," Mike muttered. "You slept with another slut and now it's going to ruin your life. You need to face it,"
I watched people go forwards once Mike called me a slut. Austin was walking slowly, Alan and Kellin were about to run a him. But Vic got there first. He pushed Mike up against the wall and glared. His hand was resting on Mike's chest and he was breathing heavily.
"Don't call her that," Vic warned.
Then he left. I looked after him in shock. I couldn't believe what had just happened.
"I'm sorry, Zandra," Mike muttered. "I just don't want this thing to fuck up his life and career," he explained desperately. "And I can't believe he's been so stupid,"
"It's fine," I shrugged. "I need to think," I said.
I got up and walked to the door. I looked back and saw Alan watching me carefully.
"You can't walk away from this, it's with you," Alan said.
"I hope you didn't just bullshit me with your stupid song lyrics,"
"You don't deserve to run away from this," Alan added.
"I don't deserve to," I laughed shrilly. "My parents aren't speaking to me, I'm being sick every day, my boobs ache and the father to my child has just walked away from me. Tell me I don't fucking deserve to," I said angrily.
I left the room. I walked down the stairs and into the sitting room. The house was empty now. I sat on the sofa and my head dropped into my hands.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Vic's voice asked.
He was sitting on the armchair opposite. He didn't look sad or angry anymore. He was just worn out.
"I didn't know how," I finally told him.
"All those times you could have," he muttered.
"Like when you had your tongue stuck down Leah's throat?" I mocked.
"What about when my tongue was stuck down your throat?" he retorted.
"Shut up," I snapped. "Don't worry. I'll sort it and you can go back to getting drunk and sleeping with people on the road,"
"You'll sort it?" he echoed. "I'm going to be a dad,"
"You're not," I shook my head.
"You can't get rid of it. Please, Zee," he begged.
"I don't want it," I nearly sobbed.
"Don't abort it. Please, for me,"
"You won't be a dad and I won't be a mum. I'll give it up then," I explained.
"What do you mean?"
"I'll give it up for adoption," I eventually said.
I decided.
