IS SOMETHING STILL SCARING YOU?

My New Life.

~~ (A MONTH LATER)~~

-Amber-

My mom has been gone for a month and I’ve been living hell. Hector’s been staying with me for a few nights then Angelica or Ana would come in the day, just to distract me from everything that has happen. My Dad has been a mess but he’s living life like we should. He leaves for work, works and then comes back to eat and sleep. There isn’t life in our house anymore, and I’m scared to lose my dad as well. Mr. White has been visiting me and my dad to leave me my assignments, as I haven’t gone to school for the month, I just want to drop out, and maybe make a band in memory of my mother. I’ve told the idea to my Dad, and my cousins. They liked it but Vic, Jaime, Mike and Uncle Tony didn’t like idea of their kids dropping out of school in their sophomore year. I also met Mr. White’s daughter, Leslie. I babysit her sometimes, she’s only 8 and she’s adorable.

“Amber, Can we go to the park?” Leslie asks.

“Sure Leslie, let me get a sweater and we’ll go.” She skips to the front of the door and waits there, I grab my hoodie and in hand in hand we head to the park around the block.

“Let’s have a swing race.” She lets go of my hand and we run to the swings.

“Ready?” I said

“Set.”

“Go!” and we begin our little game.

Leslie was having the time of her life; she was smiling and laughing as I chased her around the little area. My phone rings.

“Leslie, it’s your mom, we have to go back.”

“Aww!” I answer the phone.

“Hi, Kiana.”

“Hey Amber, we’re on our way to pick up Leslie,”

“We’ll be right there we came to the park around the corner of my house.”

“Oh it’s Wednesday, Wednesdays are her park days, I forgot to tell you.”

“Its Fine Kiana, I’m glad you told me now, I’ll see you there.” I hang up as we arrived at my house.

“Lely, go get your backpack.” She runs to the kitchen and comes back with her little turtle shell backpack. The door bell rings.

“Mommy!” She opens the door to find her mom and dad standing on the doorway.

“Hey munchkin, Thanks a lot Amber.” Kiana said and left to the car.

“Thanks Amber.”

“It’s no problem Austin; she really knows how to distract me from everything.”

“Yeah she does, well thanks again. Here” He hands me a white envelope.“That your pay.”

“Austin, you don’t have to pay me.” I hand it back to him.

“No, here, its winter break now, and that’s your Christmas present. Go buy merch, your bass, whatever”

“Thank you Mr. White.” He nods and leaves
