- Yaressi's POV -
Jaime had to drive, afraid that I'd crash the car out of anger.
I couldn't stop hitting the car window, not caring if it broke.
But it didn't.
We arrived at Stephanie's house.
Her car was in the driveway.
Good.
I looked at Jaime.
"Just make sure you don't kill her Yaressi."
"I'll try not to."
I stomped up to her front door and banged on it.
She answered.
"May I help you?" she smiled.
I gritted my teeth and punched her right in the face.
"You killed my best friend you cunt!"
I punched her again and again, over and over, non stop until Jaime pulled me off of her.
Her face was bloody and bruised.
I didn't care.
I would've done so much more if Jaime hadn't pulled me off.
"I hope you rot in hell." Jaime choked towards her.
She didn't try to get up.
I had already called the police and they were here now.
An officer picked up Stephanie and put her in cuffs.
"You're under arrest on account of a hit and run and the death of Nicole Lassiter, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you? With these rights in mind, do you wish to speak with me?"
Stephanie didn't say a word.
They said some things to her as she was put in the back seat of a police car.
She said a couple words back.
Soon after, the officer shut the door and walked over to Jaime and I.
"Stephanie will not be pressing charges for assault. She said something about coming for someone named Adaa? I didn't here the whole thing. But she will be in jail for many years. I'm sorry for your loss."
He turned back around with a sad smile and walked to the police car.
They all drove off.
I looked at Jaime who was crying.
I turned and hugged him.
He sobbed into my shoulder.
I've never seen him so sad.
"I'm so sorry Jaime."
"Thank you Yaressi. I love you. You're the little sister I never had. You're amazing and a great mother. I'm so sorry for hurting myself. But Stephanie is gone and in jail. She won't come near Adaa. I'll make sure of it."
I hugged him tight.
"I love you too Hime."
***** 5 years later *****
Adaa is 6 now, almost 7.
Pierce The Veil is still rocking it.
Adaa is a TOTAL metal head.
She loves the guitar.
"I want to grow up like daddy and Uncle Vic!" is what she always says.
I know she will.
She has a great voice already.
I can sometimes hear her trying to sing Caraphernelia.
Intensely whispering, "what if I can't forget you?! I'll burn your name into my throat, I'll be the fire that will catch you!"
I laugh every time I see it.
She's amazing.
We had a memorial service for Nicole a week after she passed.
It shattered my heart to see my best friend in a coffin.
We still go to her grave every 4th of July, and light off her favorite firework.
I know she's looking down on us.
And I definitely know she's stomping with Mitch.
I smiled at the thought.
Tony's been so great.
They've all been such a big help.
Austin apologized and soon enough got over me, finding his own girlfriend, Jocelyn.
They're actually getting married in a few days.
Yay for being a bridesmaid, right?
Now I'll get to know how Nicole felt.
I miss her more than anything.
I cry every now and then.
But I know she's in a better place.
Pierce The Veil released their new album, "Princes Without Their Charm."
The whole album is about love.
Most of them about the heartbreaks they've went through.
Jaime wrote a song about Nicole which they put in there.
It's called "Missing You."
Kinda an accurate title, but it makes sense.
He put so much work into it.
I'm proud of him too.
He's getting better.
He's getting happier.
He's gone on a couple dates.
But he hasn't found that one special person yet.
Stephanie, of course, is still in jail.
Everyone was completely shocked by what happened.
Let's just say, I wasn't really the fighting type back then.
But now I'm ready to kick ass any second if someone messes with the people I love.
Vic and Mike had a couple bumps in the road.
Mike caught his girlfriend Mia trying to make a move on Vic.
I was ready to kick her ass too.
But I didn't.

I've sang at a couple concerts with bands.
Pierce The Veil, of course, Sleeping With Sirens, of course, and Bring Me The Horizon. But a couple new ones too.
Like Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men, and Nevershoutnever!.
It was a fantastic experience, honestly.
And of course, I've had to be in some interviews with Tony or Vic or Kellin or Mike or Jaime.
I was really shy at first and my stomach would turn a lot, but I started to catch on and get better at it.
My dad's doing good again.
He comes to visit us every week.
I guess you could say my life is pretty great.
I've loved every second of it.
And I still do.
