I Know It's Tough, But Please Don't Give Up
"Who crashed into you guys?"
Jaime looked into my eyes.
"I-I don't really know.. I didn't think about it."
He looked back down in confusion.
I got up and walked over to the Tony.
"What happened?" he asked.
"We have to go back."
"Back where?"
"To where the crash was."
I took a huge gulp.
I didn't want to go back, but I did want to press charges on the person who hit their car.
They'll pay.
"Jaime, you're sure someone crashed into YOU?" I looked back at him.
"Yes, we were driving down the street, nobody was behind or in front of us, then a car just comes out of no where.. And crashes into the side, flipping us over.."
I sighed.
"Okay."
I grabbed Jaime's hand, headed out the door and we were off.
We drove down all the roads we knew, trying to find the spot.
We finally turned down a street, and there it was.
You could see the skid and burn marks on the road still.
And tiny pieces left from the car.
I looked all around, looking for anything that could help.
We were surrounded by a couple houses.
"Maybe these people seen what happened."
We went up to each house and asked, but nobody knew.
I don't know who'd want to do this to Jaime or Nicole.
Why would anyone want to?
They haven't hurt a fly.
I looked up at him.
"You're sure you or Nicole haven't done anything that would maybe piss someone off or drive them to do this?" I asked.
"No, not at all."
He shrugged and looked around.
Then he stopped, staring at the light pole.
I looked over.
A video camera.
There was a gas station right beside it.
I ran inside.
"Do you still have the tape to the video camera for this last week?" I panted.
The guy at the counter looked at me in confusion.
"I'm the best friend of the girl who... Wrecked her car the other day. Please, I need to see that tape."
"Okay, okay, come with me."
He led me to the back room.
He grabbed a small remote and turned on the TV in front of us.
I rewinded it all the way back to that day.
I sat back with Jaime and watched.
He held my hand.
There was the car they were in.
I was sitting there, dreading watching it.
There was the car, speeding down and crashing into the side.
Jaime's car skid, then took a flip.
A tear ran down his face.
I squeezed his hand.
We looked close to the TV now.
I couldn't see the car very well.
Someone finally hopped out.
They were running.
I grabbed the remote and paused it.
I could see their face now.
Or, HER face.
I should've known.
But why Jaime?
He did nothing to her.
I'm going to fucking kill her.
I looked at Jaime who had his hand over his mouth.
He was shaking.
I held him steady.
"Jaime, look at me."
"It-It was-"
"I know. I know. She's going to get what's coming for her."
I was so angry.
I wanted to destroy everything inside.
The employee looked at me.
I threw the TV off of the shelf.
He didn't care.
He knew how pissed I was.
I'm ready to break anyone's face at this point.
My face was red, I could feel it.
My eyes were full of rage.
Soon after, so were Jaime's.
"I should've known she would've done this."
"Typical Stephanie."
"Time to go pay her a visit."
Jaime looked into my eyes.
"I-I don't really know.. I didn't think about it."
