Mike and I were sitting on the couch while everybody was asleep. I could hear the wheels of the bus turning, we were on our way to Las Cruses, New Mexico.
It was silent.
Mike pretended to look out the window even though it was pitch black and nothing to be seen except a desert bush every now and then. He couldn't sleep either. This was eating away at him just like it was to me. And now we are sitting in the same place we kissed a day ago.
I hadn't been able to have a conversation with Jaime. Last time I tried I bawled out in tears, then Mike came and kind of saved me from that terrible conversation.
"Are you cold?" Mike whispered.
"Kinda"
"Well come here, lets get that blanket"
"Uhh...okaay"
what the hell is happening. I got under the blanket and positioned myself awkwardly next to him.
"So you cant sleep,huh?" Mike said.
"No, im not that tired" I confirmed.
"Bullshit"
"What?"
"You had a long troubled day I can see you are tired as fuck, this is messing up your mind" Mike assured. He was exactly correct. I just gave a slight nod to confirm he was a 100% right. FUCK.

"You are one of my best friends Vanessa, I cant stand things being awkward between us."
Mike was correct.
I had a knot in my throat. I had no words to say, but so many in my words in my head.

"Lets just watch Harry Potter" Mike said.
I cleared my throat, "Kay."
He took out his tablet and put on Harry Potter. We were just in the middle of The Goblet of Fire when our eyes met. He leaned in and we kissed once more. This time the kiss was deeper. This time the sparks were brighter. This time my blood rushed faster. This time it was perfect. Our lips were in sync. It almost felt like a song. A melody. A true connection.
Our lips pulled apart slowly.
"Woow," Mike whispered.
I had a little smirk in my face. "Yeah," I giggled.
I snapped back to reality.
"Wait, what the fuck just happened" I slurred.
Mike seemed to have snapped back to reality in the middle of my sentence.
"Fuck" he said.
"What are you trying to do with my head?!?" My tone grew aggressive but I was trying to keep quiet so I wouldnt wake up the others.
"Im not trying to do anything! Shit just happens" Mike said.
"Well stuff your shit back up your ass!" I said my voice sounded like I was about to kill him quietly.
Mike just stared at me while I was having a panic attack.
"Lets just ignore each for a while, until all pf this blows over"
Mike just gave me a quick nod assuring he got the message.
I slid into my bunk. Put on my headphones and listened to Arctic Monkeys. I was in the middle of "I bet that you look good on the dance floor" when I dozed off.
My curtain was pulled and daylight hit my face.
"Hey babe, wake up were in Las Cruses." Jaime whispered.
"Wow we got here fast" I said.
"Yeah I really need to talk to you" Jaime said.
"Mmm..kayyy" I said.

I JUST REALLY HOPE I DONT CRY THIS TIME.
