Holding On Too Tight

Chapter Five

“Thanks for tonight Jaime,” I smiled, “I haven’t been on a date in a while.”

“Oh come on,” he laughed, “You’re so pretty, guys probably follow you around all the time.”

“No they don’t,” I smiled and shook my head.

“Well I’d be happy to follow you around.” I laughed at his wording. “No, that came out wrong!” He laughed with me.

“Well goodnight,” I smiled.

“Goodnight.” He leaned in slowly. He closed his eyes and I did the same. I felt anxious so I closed the gap between us and I put my hands at the back of his neck. His hands fell down to my hips and his tongue glazed my bottom lip. I opened my mouth and let him in, there was a short battle of tongues before his tongue took dominance and explored my mouth. I don’t know how long it went on but Lizzy opened the door and tapped my shoulder.

“Jesus, stop sucking faces.” She crossed her arms and leaned on the door frame.

“What are you doing?” I looked over at Jaime whose face was a bright red.

“I was going to the store to buy some popcorn and drinks from the gas station.” She tilted her head. “Why don’t you guys just take it to the bedroom?”

“Well I was just about to go anyways…” Jaime scratched the back of his head.

“Goodnight.” I whispered in his ear before pecking his lips.

“I’ll call you.” He said back before going to the elevator and disappearing.

“Thanks.” I muttered and went inside the apartment.

“Look at you all fancy.” Destery flipped his hand.

“She had a hot date.” Nate raised his eyebrows.

“He is pretty hot.” Ana smirked at me, “I heard you guys were making out.”

“Oh my god, I better get some red A’s put on everything I own!” I threw my hands in the air and fell to the floor. “But if you’ll excuse me I have to get this shit off and into my comfy clothes.” I took off my shoes and carried them upstairs. I slipped out of my clothes and put on some comfy pajamas and put my hair up into a pony tail. I went into my bathroom to wash my face and take off my makeup. I went back downstairs all warm and cozy before sitting on the couch next to Destery.

“So how was your date?” He poked my arm.

“Super romantic.” I poked his arm back.

“What do you think of this guy?” Destery turned to Ana.

“I think he sounds like a lot of fun.” Ana smiled. “He’s perfect for her, she needs it.”

“Yeah girl, you’ve been single way too long.” Nate snapped his fingers.

“Hey, as long as you’re happy, I am too.” Destery smiled.

“Well now that I have your approval, I can officially date him.” I hugged him. “Now where the fuck is Lizzy?”

“She said she was just going to get some drinks and popcorn,” Ana shrugged.

“I’m back.” Lizzy walked into the room, almost as if on cue.

“Pop that popcorn!” Nate pointed at her.

“Get your ass up and do it yourself.” She laughed.

“I’ll do it.” Destery got up and grabbed the popcorn out of the bag before disappearing into the kitchen.

“Oh how was your date?” Lizzy got out some drinks and handed them out. She handed Ana a Pepsi, Nate a Snapple, me natural strawberry lemonade, and she set Destery’s Sierra Mist on the table. She sat down in his spot next to me and opened up her green tea.

“It was so nice.” I leaned my head on her shoulder. “He took me to this really nice restaurant and then we went to go see this cute movie and then we talked outside for a little bit-”

“And then you went all vampire on his ass and sucked his face.” She laughed.

“Ugh, and you came outside and ruined it.” I picked my head up and took a sip of my drink.

“It’s not like you two were going to have sex anyways.” Ana opened her drink as well.

“Welp, that’s my cue to leave.” Nate got up with his drink and took Destery’s with him as he walked to the kitchen.

“I don’t know, maybe in a few dates?” I rubbed my forehead. “I just really like him and I don’t want to fuck this up before it starts.”

“You don’t fuck things up.” Lizzy crossed her legs and looked over at me.

“Yeah, guys are just never good enough for you.” Ana crawled next to Lizzy.

“I don’t know you guys, they always pull out the ‘It’s not you, it’s me’ and we all know that it’s a steaming pile of shit.” I shook my head. “I’ve never had to break up with anyone because they always break up with me.”

“Maybe you’re just intimidating.” Lizzy shrugged.

“That’s not very helpful.” I sighed and put my face in my hands.

“Well if you two were making out, that’s a good sign right?” Ana asked.

“Not always,” I wrapped my arms around my knees and pulled them to my chest. “A lot of guys would kiss me like that and then never call me again.”

“Oh please.” Lizzy rolled her eyes.

“Well Tony did say that Jaime was talking about me a lot…” I thought back to Sunday and what Tony said. ‘He just talks about how beautiful you are. He’s not lying but he’s really over doing it.’

“Like what?” Ana asked curiously.

“Tony said that Jaime always talks about how pretty I am, but do you think that’s it?” I returned another question.

“Nope,” Lizzy shook her head.

“Lizzy’s right,” Ana reached over and put her hand on my knee. “You guys really clicked at the club, it was hard not to see it.”

“Is it safe to come back in now?” Nate walked into the room with Destery along with two bowls of popcorn.

“Yes it is.” Ana moved back over to her spot on the couch and Nate sat next to her, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. Lizzy didn’t move so Destery sat on the other side of me and put the popcorn bowl on my lap. Lizzy turned on some movie that was on Netflix and we all just hung out.
