Drella

I was sitting on my bed. My own bed for a change. I've been staying at Vic's or Jaime's more than my own home recently. I turned up my music to block out the shouts of my mom. She's been arguing with the lady from across the street for forty minutes. About what? I haven't got a clue. I also had Jaime on the phone.
"Have you finished?" Jaime whined. I rolled my eyes, focusing on my art work.
"No," I snapped. "You know it has to go in my portfolio,"
"What is it again?"
"My representation of New York in the form of collage, drawing, painting type thing. I got loads of photos and cuttings from when I was there a few weeks ago,"
"Am I in it?" he asked goofily.
"Do you live in New York?"
"No,"
"Then sorry, babe. You just don't qualify," I teased. Then I heard a tapping at my window. I turned around and my eyes widened. "Hey, I'll call you back,"
"Cool, everything okay?"
"Yeah, something's just come up," I laughed nervously. I went over to my window and opened it. "What the hell are you doing?" I rushed.
"Sorry," Vic muttered as he climbed in. He went over to my bed and sat down. "I'm just freaking myself out and needed to speak to you,"
"Don't you own a phone?" I joked.
"I meant see you,"
"Why didn't you go to the front door?"
"I was going to but I saw your mom really mad and then she threw your dustbin at someone,"
"Shit," I breathed. "Anyway, what's up?" I asked, joining him on my bed.
"So I have my third date with Hannah tomorrow. We're going to the beach,"
"That sounds nice. You can show her your moves," I smiled. "What's wrong? Don't you like her?"
"No, no, no. I really like her. She's so pretty and she's sweet and funny and caring. She really thinks about things, you know?"
"I don't see a problem, Vic," I laughed. "Does she not like you?"
"No, she does. She said so earlier,"
"Can you help me out?" I tried.
"We still haven't kissed. This is our third date. We'll have to kiss tomorrow,"
"Probably," I nodded. "Is that what you're anxious about? In case she doesn't want to,"
"No," he rolled his eyes.
"Vic, it's late and I'm tired. Can you please just tell me?"
"What if I'm a rubbish kisser?"
"Are you a rubbish kisser?"
"I don't know!" he exclaimed.
"When was the last time you kissed a girl?"
"Before I started to get bullied. See, I really like her. What if she dumps me?"
"She won't. Nobody would do that," I sighed. "Okay, when you kiss do you use your teeth? That's not good. Do you try to suck out her soul? That's not good either,"
"Don't be stupid, Ella,"
"Can't you go practice with Mike?"
"That'd be gay," he frowned. "And it'd be incest,"
"Vic, you don't forget how to kiss. It just comes naturally,"
"What if my pills won't let me?"
"Is that on the side effects?" I frowned.
"No,"
"Oh God," I pinched the bridge of my nose. "I can't believe I'm doing this,"
"What?"
"Okay, this doesn't mean anything. I'm with Jaime. You're with Hannah. We're best friends. I'm only doing this to calm you down," I promised.
"Do what?"
"Kiss me?"
"What?" Vic rushed.
"Pretend I'm Hannah. I want you to kiss me how you'd kiss her. If it's horrible I won't kiss back. If it's good I'll react. Then you can the fuck chill out,"
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah," I nodded.
"As friends?" he asked anxiously.
"As friends," I agreed.
"Try and act more like Hannah then," Vic urged. I rolled my eyes. I shifted myself into a more lady like position and tucked some hair behind my ear.
"You look so handsome this evening, Victor," I mocked in a high voice.
"Drella," he groaned.
"I'm sorry," I laughed. "Couldn't resist," I shrugged. I took Vic's hand. He used his other to tuck hair behind my ear. Then he stroked my cheek. He was being so gentle. His hand went to the back of my neck just as he started to lean in. I went forwards to meet his lips. He pressed his lips to mine and I felt a warmth. My free hand went to tangle up in his hair. Vic's lips were soft and were pressing against mine carefully, like he was remembering. I was kissing back eagerly. He must have realised because under my lips I felt Vic smile. Vic gave my lips one last kiss before we both pulled away.
"Was it okay?" Vic asked anxiously.
"It was really good,"
"Really?" Vic asked excitedly.
"I swear. And you wasn't too rough. Girls like Hannah aren't into rough,"
"Good, good," he nodded, like he was absorbing everything I was saying. "Am I better than Jaime?"
"You're in his league," I laughed. "You tell him I said that and you're dead,"
"Tell Hannah and you're dead,"
"After you kiss her ask her to be your girlfriend. She'll like that,"
"Really?"
"It happens in every bad movie. Either that or go to her house carrying a boom box that's playing her favourite song,"
"I think I'll ask her after the kiss," Vic thought.
"Good choice," I smiled and smacked his leg lightly. "Now get out of my room, Fuentes," I yawned.
"I'm going," he said defensively. I stood up and hugged Vic. He squeezed me before he went over to the window.
"You can use the front door," I told him.
"No, thanks. I'll call you tomorrow to tell you how it went," he told me.
"Night Vic," I smiled.
"Night," he waved before he disappeared out of my window easily. Then I rushed over to my window.
"Vic!" I yelled. He looked up to me and I threw him down a tube of cream I've been letting him use for his cuts. He caught it and held it up in thanks. I waved again and he grinned before jogging away.
