Lonely Girl

Vic's P.O.V

I watched as my best friend and his new wife walked hand in hand into the reception room, the look on their faces made my heart weep a little. For three reasons actually; 1. They had found each other, despite being half-way across the world from each other and made it work. 2. Everything in their relationship worked out well, even the bad parts. And 3. I was insanely jealous.

Hayley entered the room holding our daughters hand, I could see that they were talking to each other as Elisa was giggling. A small smile played at my lips in the thought of what could become of this. Elisa was like an angel sent from heaven to save me and Hayley's relationship. I know God has better things to do but I can believe what I want.

Elisa's eyes scanned the room until they found mine. "Daddy" She squealed. Her little legs sped over to my table and she climbed onto my legs.

"Hey baby girl" I hugged her. "What did you and mommy do?" I asked her.

"We spoke to uncle Mike" She told me proudly.

"What was he saying?" I laughed a little at how adorable she was being.

"Mommy wasn't feeling too good but it's okay, she wants to have cake" Elisa giggled at the idea of cake. "Can I have cake?" She whispered.

"Yeah, as soon as aunty Jenna and Tony cut the cake, you can get the biggest piece. How does that sound?" I told her.

"I'm gonna get uncle Mike to dance" She announced.

"The music hasn't even started yet" I laughed at her. It was too late, I watched her run over to Mike and pulled him out onto the empty dancefloor. He did as she asked him to and danced with her. It was nice to see my little brother really bonding with his niece, it made things feel right; like a family should.

After the meal, speeches and dreaded dancing, I sat on the edge of the dancefloor at an empty table and watched Tony and Jenna dance together. The smiles on their faces were so pure that it was almost as if they were never gonna stop. I want that.

Hayley's P.O.V

The sickness in my stomach made me want to just go home now, this isn't right. I can't tell anyone but I also can't hide it forever. Jenna was the only person I trusted with this sorta stuff but it was her wedding day and I couldn't steal her thunder.

Speaking of whom. "Hello my beautiful brides maid, how are you? Why you standing in the corner yourself?" She asked with the most genuine smile I've ever seen.

"Oh I'm just taking a breather" I faked my smile, trying to hide my nausea.

"Okay, well can I talk to you privately?" She asked looking around us. I nodded and she took my hand and led me into the bathroom and locked the door.

"What's the deal that you gotta lock the door?" I asked, with a slight laugh.

"Okay, I'm gonna tell you a huge secret but only because you are my best friend and would do the same no matter what" She explained.

"Okay" I said slowly and nodded.

"Hayley... I'm pregnant" She whispered. My eyes grew wide and my mouth fell open. "Better pick your jaw up off the floor" She joked.

I closed my mouth and took a breath. "How far along?" I questioned her.

"About a month" She smiled.

"Well I'm very happy for you, Elisa is gonna have a play mate" I laughed.

"Yeah" She agreed. Silence engulfed us and she looked at me. "Now tell me what's really going on. I don't care if it's my wedding. You're my best friend now spill" She demanded, folding her arms across her chest.

"Nothing" I said quickly, avoiding her eyes.

"Bullshit, you have been leaving the room a lot to get air, all you've been drinking is water and you're extremely pa..." I could see the cogs turning in her heas as she put the pieces together. "You're not" She widened her eyes.

"I am" I bit my lip.

"Who is the dad, is it Mike? If it is then that'll be hella confusing to people" She joked.

"You know I'd never sleep with Mike. That's like brother territory" I grimaced at the thought.

"Who then?" She asked with confusion.

"Vic" I mumbled. Her lips curved up into a smile.

"Now when did that happen?" She said with amusement.

"Two or three days after he found out about Elisa. He came over for awhile and she fell asleep. Taylor was out and we had a few glasses of wine. It was a stupid mistake and he has a girlfriend but I'm scared to tell him but I can't do this to him again" I panicked.

"Plus he'll notice when you begin to balloon out" She laughed. "Look, it's gonna be fine. He'll just be happy that he's here this time" Jenna pointed out.

"I guess you're right but how do I tell him" I asked.

"I'm not sure, the nature of your interactions together is completely bonkers to me so I don't know what's for the best but whatever you do just don't get upset if he freaks out" Jenna pulled me into her arms and hugged me tightly.

"I love you Jennapots" I mumbled.

"I love you too haybear" She said back. "We're gonna have our kids around the same time. This is gonna be funny, watching Tony and Vic dads to newborns will be a hoot for us" She pulled back.

We walked out of the bathroom and parted ways. I walked over to Elisa and Vic who were colouring. "Hey guys whatcha drawing" I asked sitting down next to them.

"A pony" Elisa said not looking up.

"Yeah it's multicoloured too" Vic added, looking up for a second.

"Sweet, Elisa you wanna do me a little favour" I asked her. Her head shot up and she jumped onto my knee.

"What is it mommy?" She asked.

I whispered into her ear and she began drawing quickly.

Vic's P.O.V

Me and Elisa were drawing pictures when Hayley came over. Hayley asked her to do something and Elisa began drawing something quickly but I wasn't allowed to see it. Finally she finished and handed it over to me.

I opened it up and it was a drawing. There was me, Hayley and Elisa. I didn't understand until I read the names. Mommy. Daddy. Me. Then there was an arrow pointing to Hayley's stomach and it said 'baby brother/sister'. My eyes widened and I felt sick.

My mind raced back to the night about a month ago where me and Hayley slept together. It was a complete accident but we were too drunk to use any protection and well, I guess this is the consequence.

I looked up at Hayley who just smiled at me. "At least I told you" She smirked.

Well this just changed the course of my day.
