The Little Sister

Karen's Point of View

I smiled down at my belly as I stood in line to pick up dinner. "That's $27.48." the guy behind the register said handing me a bag of food. I paid him and he smiled "You know poka dots are good luck." I laughed "I'll remember that." I walked out of the place and got in my car.

"Come on Sammy time to go eat dinner with daddy." I said grabbing the bag off of the passengers seat. Sam started kicking, he was excited to see his daddy. I smiled and walked inside "Mike, i'm home!" I called putting the food down. "Mike?" I called again. I put my hand on my belly and walked upstairs "Mike?" I opened the bedroom door and he wasn't there. I walked back downstairs and into the practice room he set up. He wasn't there, Sam started kicking again. "I'm sorry baby, we'll find daddy I promise." I rubbed my belly softly. "Mike?" I walked back into the living room, "Okay Sammy were gonna call uncle Vic, because uncle Vic promised mommy to pick daddy up from the hospital."

I sighed and got my phone out of my bag and called Vic.

Vic: *yawn* Hey K
Karen: Hey Vic, did you pick up Mike?
Vic: Um imma come over.
Karen: Wha-

Vic hung up on me. "Bitch hung up on me my little giraffe." Sam kicked "I know right, uncle Vic can be a little bitch sometimes." I laughed and got the food out of the bag. Sam kicked me as hard as he could. "Ow, I know Sammy, mommy should wait for daddy, but i'm hungry baby." I said. He kicked harder and moved around a lot. "Okay this is a contraction." I got out of my chair and started walking around, "Sammy at least wait until daddy gets home." I groaned. Sam kept moving and kicking, "Baby if you want to come out please hurry up and come out." I groaned the door bell rang. "It's open." I groaned through gritted teeth. "K, Mi- OH MY GOD ARE YOU OKAY!" Vic yelled running over to me. My water broke soaking both me and Vic's shoes. "That's disgusting Karen." Vic commented before helping me get out of the house. "Wheres Mike he needs to be here!" "Karen let's just get you to the car okay?" "WHERE'S MIKE! I'M NOT GIVING BIRTH WITHOUT HIM HERE!" "KAREN HE'S GONE!" "What?" I asked my voice cracking I felt the anxiety taking over. I started hyperventilating "He can't be gone..." I cried. Mike can't be gone.
