The Little Sister

Vic's Point of View

"Hey Mike." Mike looked up at me "Hey Vic." "I'm here to take you home." he nodded and I handed him some clothes. "Thanks." Mike got out of the hospital bed and walked over to the bathroom to change.

"So Mike, I need to tell you something." "Go ahead big bro." I swallowed, should I really do this? I'll treat her better, I'll be a better father then Mike would ever be. "Mike, you need to stay away from Karen." Mike looked up at me "Vic I think I love her, I mean before the accident, I found a ring in my pocket." I rolled my eyes "Mike you're no good for her." "But I love her Vic." I looked at my brother and saw a pained expression. "If you really love her you'll stay away from her." Mike looked at me "What did I do to her?" I took a deep breath "Mike you beat her." Mike looked at me disbelievingly "You beat her, you cheated on her, you raped her." Mike looked down at his hands "Then why did she come to see me everyday?" "She thought you would change if she came to visit you." I explained to him. I don't want to lie to my brother but I would treat Karen so much better then Mike could ever treat her. "Vic?" I looked up at Mike "Can you take me home?" I nodded.

Mike's Point of View

"Maybe I just need to get away." I sighed and started putting clothes in my duffle bag. I finished throwing my stuff in the bag and walked downstairs to see a note from Karen on the fridge.

"Hey Mikey :) I'm not gonna be home until 8ish but i'll bring home somethin somethin for dinner. I love you -Karen"

How could she love when I've done all of these horrible things to her? I questioned myself. I looked at the clock to see it was 7. I swallowed and exited the house and walked over to my car. "Bye Karen, I'll always love you no matter what even if i'm a horrible excuse for a man." I said aloud before getting into my car and driving away. Karen will never have to deal with me again, no matter what. I'll miss Sam, but if I did all those things to Karen what would happen to Sam?
