The Little Sister

Karen's Point of View

I woke up in Mike's arms. I smiled and wiggled out of his arms, I walked into the bathroom and wiped off my makeup from last night and pulled my hair up into a messy bun. I walked back into the bedroom to see Mike still asleep. I smiled and got a pair of black leggings and a huge over sized sweater out of my closet and pulled them on. I sat down at my vanity. I applied mascara and eyeliner along with some lip balm. I pulled on a pair of sweater uggs and picked up my purse to leave the apartment and go to work.

"Hey Karen." Megan smiled at me as I walked into the shop. "Hey boo" I smiled at her. "I thought you had today off." Megan questioned me. "I did but I forgot both my machine and sketch book." she nodded, "Some guy called for an appointment, you don't have anyone tomorrow afternoon right?" I nodded "Tomorrow I have a 4 hour slot noon to 4." "Okay i'll call the guy back." "What's his name?" "Samuel Gibson." my heart stopped when Megan said that. "I'm not free tomorrow..." I picked up all my stuff and practically ran out of the shop. I got to my car and saw Sam leaning up against my car.

"Get away from me Sam." I said getting the taszer out of the side pocket of my purse. "K I know you're not going to be hurting me." Sam threatened getting off of my car. "Get. Away. From. Me." I said dangerously. "Don't worry Karen i'd never hurt you in public." He walked closer to me, "Don't worry i'll just wait until your boyfriend leaves." Sam said to me before he walked away. I got into my car. Sam knows where I live this can't be happening.

Mike's Point of View

I rolled over and didn't feel Karen. "Karen?" I called, no one answered. I got out of bed and saw her clothes were still here so she didn't leave me. I walked into her studio to see her sketch book wasn't there. Maybe she went out to the beach to sketch? I shook my head she would have said something.

I walked out to the main part of the apartment and saw Karen laying down on the kitchen floor. "Babe?" she looked up at me, one of her headphones fell out. "Hey Mikey." she said her voice cracked, she was crying earlier.

"Baby wants wrong?" I sat down on the floor and pulled her into my arms. "Sam knows where we live." she started crying again. "Sh baby it's okay." I soothed her "Sam's going to hurt me." "Whose Sam?" Karen took a deep breath.

"Sam hit me, he raped me and we were engaged for six months before I worked up the balls to leave him." she explained to me. I held her closer to me "I won't let him hurt you." "He knows where we live, he knows where everyone else in Pierce the Veil lives. He knows how to get into all of your minds he knows how to manipulate all of you guys. He's dangerous." "Karen i'm going to protect you. I promise you i'm protecting you forever." I held her close to me before I picked her up and walked back to our bedroom.

We laid in bed for a little while just watching movies and eating. I took a deep breath before I grabbed something out of the side table. "Hey Karen?" I turned to Karen, she turned to look at me pushing her glasses up in the process. "Yes Mikey?" she mimicked my tone of voice. "I love you Karen. I know we've only been together a year but it's been the best year of my life. I don't really know what else to say but, I love you and I want it to never end. Karen Amelia Perry will you make me the happiest man in the world and become my wife?" I asked her opening the box that held her ring. Karen smiled and pulled my face down to hers. Our kiss was passionate and perfect in every way. "Yes." she answered me rubbing the sides of my head that were freshly shaven. "I love you Micheal Christopher Fuentes."
