The List
#2 Break into a Building
I looked anxiously at the boys. Mike grinned at me and I looked over at Tony. He looked at little unsure. “Have you ever done this before?” I asked.
“Sort of, we robbed a bank!” Jaime exclaimed. They all looked at him oddly.
“That was a music video,” Vic said and looked at Jaime like he was stupid.
“It’s sort of the same,”
“No, you were told when to run in the doors, and you screwed that up,” Mike said.
“So, you’ve never broke into a building? Okay, I’m going to jail,”
“You’re not going to jail,” Jaime laughed.
“Just run in, up and down in the elevator and run back out. Simple,” Mike shrugged.
“Simple,” I echoed.
“Okay?” Vic asked.
“Yeah,” I nodded. Jaime walked out of the bus and I followed him. I saw the others behind me and I looked at them in panic. “Am I insane?” I asked pointedly.
“No,” Tony shook his head.
“Ryan must have been,” I muttered.
“We’ll be right outside,” Vic reminded me.
“Yeah,” I nodded. Then I took and deep breath and ran. I stopped in front of a building of offices and went around the side. I spotted a window and kicked it hard. It smashed and I lunged inside. I stood up and grinned. I did it, I was in a huge waiting area. I ran over to the elevator and pressed the button. As I opened I heard an alarm go off. “Shit,” I breathed. I got inside the elevator and pressed the button to the top floor. It slowly moved up and I stood grinning. When the doors opened I came face to face with a security officer. I hurried to press the button and the doors closed. “Damn,” I muttered. When I was on the bottom floor I rushed to the window I had smashed. Then I got outside and headed for the bus.
“Stop!” I heard the security guard call. I carried on and ran straight past the bus. I saw the boys exchange a look but I jogged around the corner. I sighed in relief when I ran into the tour bus and banged the door. Vic opened it for me and I jumped inside. “Drive!" I ordered.
