Stay Away From My Friends

My Understandings

Time flew by for Natalie and the band. Before they all knew it, the tour with BMTH was over and they were back home in LA in no time. Aaron had offered his place with his fiancé but she declined, not wanting to bother them. Austin said he lived alone and he wouldn’t mind if she stayed with him while she found a place to stay.

They lived together for a few days until she found a small apartment two blocks away and decided to go live there. Austin drove her to the storage and waited as she claimed the storage space that was hers. Turns out, a few months ago, the company tried to reach her but couldn’t. Some people had broken in and stole furniture and anything of value. Natalie and Austin returned to his place and they stayed in the car a bit longer.

“I don’t mind if you live here you know. It’s very lonely here without anyone to talk to.” Natalie stayed quiet and after a few moments, she agreed to stay there. They lived together for a few months, happy to be with company. Natalie had always been alone since her father past away. Even though she lived with Danny for a bit, she still felt lonely.

Austin had his mother, but when she passed away, he spent the rest of his life caring for himself when he moved out of his dad’s place. He met a nice looking girl, but after marriage, she left him. Austin knew he would be alone for the rest of his life.

Tour started again and this time, they did the tour alone. They traveled all around the US and when they hit New York, they made sure Danny got front row to see Natalie in action. She stayed with him that night, catching up and she met Danny’s girlfriend.

“How’s the band life?” Danny asked her.

“Get’s my mind off things.” Natalie smiled.

“You’re still single?” Danny casually asked.

“Yep, no guy has tried to put a move on me.” Natalie giggled. Danny chuckled and they fell asleep on the couch. Natalie left the next day with the band and they traveled again. Natalie was soon as popular as Adam Elmakias and people desperately wanted to meet her as well.

Austin stayed in when the group went to get lunch, on a day off, claiming he had a stomach bug. He laid in his bed, closing his eyes and turning the music on his phone on. Suicide Silence began playing, making Austin clench his eyes closed. “Mitch, you there?” He whispered to his best friend. “I need you man, I think I fell for Natalie.” He whispered again. The song continued and another song began playing.

“Come on man, give me a fucking sign!” Austin pounded on the bed and his phone fell, causing the music to spaz out. The music changed and Austin reached his phone, seeing the song go to No Pity For A Coward and then You Only Live Once. Austin glanced as his phone went back to normal and he thought back to an old conversation he had with Mitch.

“Dude, you can’t keep your feelings bottled forever. You only live once so make ever second divine. You know I give no pity for cowards. ” Austin nodded at Mitch and he sighed, smiling. He couldn't help but laugh on how he used his songs for motivation. “I’ll be with you, 100% of the way.” Mitch grinned, hugging his best friend.

Austin nodded, knowing he had to let his feeling out soon, and Mitch would be there with him. Days later, the band fell asleep after a concert and Natalie stayed in the lounge, watching Coraline as the rain fell hard and angry to the windows. Austin got up from his bed, getting a bottle on water when he saw her intently watching the movie. Austin chuckled and grabbed his blanket, walking to her and tossing it over her head. Natalie glared at him, her eyes going back to the TV. Austin sat next to her, wrapping them both in the blanket.

Natalie pressed the replay button on the remote and then realized the position she was in with Austin. His back was on the arm of the couch, his arms resting on her waist and her back was pressed against his chest. She climbed off him and Austin turned his head, looking at her.

“You okay?” Austin asked Natalie as she walked to the fridge, grabbing a Peace Tea.

“Yeah…” She sighed, going back to the couch and sitting next to him. Austin moved next to her and she looked at him, ignoring the movie which she restarted.

“No you’re not.” Austin said, looking at her intently. Lightening struck and the thunder rumbled throughout the sky and Austin’s eyes moved to the window.

“Mitch is angry.” Natalie whispered, turning her head to glance at the windows.

“Yeah, wonder why.” Austin whispered. His eyes went back to Natalie and his hand cupped her cheek, making her turn to him. Natalie looked up at Austin, blinking before she noticed his face getting closer. Her eyes closed the moment his lips met hers and she didn’t move. Austin pulled back, looking at her and they stayed quiet.

“What was that for?” Natalie asked. Austin looked down, taking in a deep breath.

“I think I fell in love with you.” He mumbled. Natalie was barely able to catch it, but she heard. She pulled his face to hers and kissed him again.

“I can’t exactly return the feelings, but I would like to try.” Austin smiled, hugging her and she hugged him back. “Does this mean we’re dating?” Natalie asked, blushing madly. Austin laughed, kissing her cheek.

“Yeah.” Natalie snuggled into his chest, falling asleep awhile later. Austin noticed the rain had calmed down, but the lightning and thunder was still going on. “Thanks Mitch. Play a sick show for those angels okay?” Austin leaned back, hugging Natalie closer and falling asleep.

Concerts passed and Natalie wondered why Austin hadn’t made their relationship official. She began having thoughts on whether he really did what to date her or not. She decided to spend the last few trips with BMTH since she began getting along with Oliver more than the rest. During their last concert, Mice had to play their last song before BMTH was going on. Austin had Aaron and Alan play the acoustic guitar assuring them that it was going to work. Four stools were brought out and the three sat down. Natalie snapped pictures, ignoring Austin, but wondering about the fourth stool. She decided that she would ask him about the relationship when they got to his house.

“I want to dedicate our last song to someone here tonight. Natalie Del Rey.” Natalie’s head perked up at the sound of it and he smiled, grabbing her hand and bringing her up on stage, having her sit on a stool.

“I love you.” He said into the microphone and Aaron and Alan began playing.

“Here in this world I’m awaked with mistakes
But it’s love that keeps fueling me
Fueling me
Pretty little lady with the swollen eyes
Would you show them to me?
I know I’m not that perfect
But you stayed awhile
Baby, you then will see.”

Natalie stared as Austin sang into the microphone, not once looking away from her.

“Miles away I can still feel you
Lay your head down on my embrace
My embrace
Far away…
Pretty little lady with your swollen eyes
Would you show them to me?
I know I’m not that perfect
But you stay awhile
Baby, you then will see”

Austin reached up, wiping a stray tear that escaped her eye and Natalie let silent tears fall down.

“Don’t give up, Baby
I know that its shaky
Just let love consume us
Consume us…
Here in this world I’m awaked with mistakes
But its love that keeps fueling me
Fueling me to love you
Miles away I can still feel you
Lay your head down on my embrace
Be not afraid to love me…”

Natalie wiped the tears away as she heard Austin chuckle and help her. She looked at him, locking eyes. His eyes looked pained, he had bags under his eyes like he hadn’t slept in days.

“Pretty little lady with your swollen eyes
Would you show them to me?
I know I’m not that perfect
But you stay awhile
Baby, then you will see”

The song ended while Austin kneeled in front of Natalie, holding her face in his hands. Natalie softly caressed his face, her fingers tracing his pale face and the bags under his eyes. Austin closed his eyes and leaned into her hand. Natalie pulled his face closer, softly kissing him and the crowd cheered. But they didn’t hear, it was only them at that moment. They pulled back, looking at each other and Natalie smiled.

“I love you.” She whispered. Austin stared at her before he reacted.

“Love? You love me? She loves me!” Austin jumped up, bringing Natalie with him and
hugging her tightly. “Say it again.” He whispered.

“I love you, Austin.” Natalie said it again. Austin pulled away, pressing his forehead against hers.

“I love you too, angel.” Natalie grinned, having him kiss her passionately. The crowd went crazy and Austin pulled away, smirking at the crowd. “Our friends, Bring Me The Horizon will be here after the intermission alright?” The crowd cheered as the band left, leaving Austin and Natalie alone on the bus.

“You haven’t slept.” Natalie whispered as he yawned.

“I thought you left me for Oli. I stayed awake the entire time. I wanted to go and bring you back, but I kept imagining him holding you and not me made me depressed again.” Natalie held him as he fell asleep and she smoothed his hair.

“I’ll never do that to you.”

The second tour ended and Mice stayed home, recording a new album and just hanging out. Small concerts were done here and there, but from then on, they stayed home.

See love, this is why I love you. Once I think I'm done with the whole story, you remind me of her and I realize, this can't be the end. One more chapter will be posted, THEN the epilogue.
