Stay Away From My Friends

The Only Thing That Sets Us Apart

Tony’s POV

I sat in the back of the bus with Moni as she cried her eyes out. I watched as she caught her breath and tried to explain what happened. “I swear I thought it was you Tony! I didn’t know it was the bartender, honestly!” I watched as more tears spilled down her cheeks and I sighed heavily.

“It’s fine.” I mumbled. Moni jumped on me, hugging me tightly and sobbing into my neck.

“I love you so much Tony. I swear I do!” I rolled my eyes, ignoring her fake words.

“Let’s fucking party!” I heard someone yell and I turned my head to the front, knowing it was Alex. I softly pushed Moni away letting her know that we were going to the front. Mike walked passed us and we followed. Natalie was holding Alex’s hand while in other she had the beer. I let go of Moni’s hand and walked up to Natalie.

“Why are you holding his hand?” I demanded softly for her ears only. Natalie looked away and gave me the beer, ignoring my question. I walked away when Elsie jumped up and pulled Natalie over to her and they began talking, along with Linda. I walked to the table, slightly annoyed that she was holding Alex’s hand. I thought she ‘loved’ Austin and she couldn’t do this to him.

Jack got on the bus as well, carrying two packs of beer while Rian followed right behind him with another two packs. I took one from the box and walked to the couch; sitting next to Vic. Moni sat next to Linda and forced herself into the conversation. Sammi walked out from the back of the bus and glared at Moni as she sat next to Natalie. I ignored the guys talking around me and listened to the girls.

“Who the fuck cares about your stories anyway?” Moni grumbled.

“Clearly they do if they’re asking me.” Natalie answered back, a bored expression on her face. I found myself smiling at her response.

“They could be faking.” Moni rolled her eyes. I frowned again, hating the way she said that. Why was I dating her in the first place?

“We really are interested in her stories.” Linda replied as nicely as she could. I knew Linda hated Moni out of all the girls, but she never liked being rude to people.

“Forget it, I don’t feel comfortable in this bus. Your cheap perfume is getting in my head.” Natalie said, getting up and leaving. I watched as she left, wanting to go after her and tell her that I was sorry for the way Moni treated her, but I couldn’t. If she wasn’t with Austin, I swear I would’ve dumped Moni to the curb, taken Natalie and never let her leave me again.

“Let’s go to the bar, yeah?” Mike questioned. The group agreed and Jack phoned Zack, telling him about the plan. I wanted to stay behind, but either Moni would stay with me, or she would go and hook up with another guy. Which I really didn’t care about the second.

“Zack is up for it. He’s going to get ready and we’ll leave. Nat was there too and she’s going.” Jack smiled as the rest cheered and gulped down their drinks. I looked down at my almost empty bottle and smiled. I guess I’m going out and drinking.

Normal POV

Natalie put on a simple outfit, fixing her nice blouse and her black skinny jeans. She checked that everything was in its place and she put her phone in her pocket, not bothering to take a purse or wallet. She stepped off the bus with Zack behind her.

“This is going to be insane! Drink as much as you want Nat, we’ll watch over you okay?” Zack assured Natalie and she grinned.

“Will do!” They knocked on the bus door and the whole bus got off.

“Now let the real party begin!” Alex laughed and took Natalie’s hand in his all of them walking to the nearest bar. Natalie noticed Tony glaring at her and she looked away. Moni attempted to hold Tony’s arm but he shrugged her away, not wanting her to touch him. They reached the bar and walked in, seeing it somewhat filled with people but still decent. They went their separate ways. Jack took Natalie from Alex and they went to the bar, ready for their shots.

“Miss Austin?” Jack asked as Natalie drowned her drink.

“Yeah, but I’ll see him soon.” She smiled.

“He has one hell of a girl. I’m surprised he let you come along with us.” Jack smiled, taking another shot.

“Why is that?” Natalie asked, waving at the bartender.

“We get pretty crazy when we’re pretty drunk.” Jack winked at her and she laughed.

“A whiskey please.” She told the bartender. “Remind me to call Austin to complain.” Jack grinned, chuckling and walking over to Alex. Natalie sat at the bar, waiting for her whiskey when Tony sat next to her.

“Give me a shot.” He told the bartender as he set Natalie’s drink down. Natalie drank a bit, ignoring Tony as he stared at her. “Care to answer why you were holding Alex’s hand? I thought you loved Austin.” Natalie glared at him, putting her cup down.

“You know very well I do. But Alex is a friend and we’ve always done that.” Tony continued to glare at her and he scoffed.

“You don’t love Austin, you love me.” He replied. The bartender passed, giving Tony his shot and he gulped it down, asking for another.

“And how do you know that?” Natalie asked him. Tony chuckled and leaned closer, causing Natalie to glance at his lips and back to his eyes.

“Because you wouldn’t have kissed me back last week.” Natalie looked away, drinking her whiskey. She didn’t say anything and Tony went back to his other shot glass. “See, you still have feelings for me. If I could, I would take you away, have you be with me and never let you go again. But Austin is one of my best friends and I would never do that to him.” Natalie stayed quiet, looking at the ice cubes until she finally stood up.

“There is a quote that says that if you are in love with two people, you should choose the second one, because if you loved the first, you wouldn’t have fallen for the second.” Natalie looked at Tony and he glared at her. “That second person, is my boyfriend Austin.” And with that, she walked away, going to the table where Mike, Rian, Jaime, and Jack were doing a drinking game. “Count me in, boys.”

~

Natalie woke up with a massive headache. She sat up, the blanket around her falling to her lap and reveling her naked body. She couldn’t remember anything from last night, only that the girls went to the ATL bus to talk while she and they guys continued the drinking games. She faintly remembered Moni leaving with what she guessed was Tony during the middle of the night. Natalie pulled the blankets up to her chest and she stretched her legs, feeling another pair of legs. She then realized someone was in the bed with her. Natalie slowly turned her head, seeing Tony sleeping next to her.

The blanket was wrapped around his slender hips and he was lying on his stomach. There were scratch marks on his back, some drawing out a bit of dried blood. Natalie looked down at her body and saw bite marks and love bites almost everywhere. She gasped, covering her mouth. She closed her eyes, praying everything was a dream when Tony moved next to her. He slowly sat up, rubbing his eye with the heel of his hand and turned to Natalie. He froze, staring at her as last night flooded into his mind.

“You piece of shit.” Natalie whispered, tears escaping her eyes. “Why did I fucking do this with you? Out of all the fucking people, why you?” She cried. Tony felt bad, grabbing her hand and pulling her to him. Natalie pulled away but he pulled her harshly.

“Stop resisting.” He whispered. He began wiping her tears away with the blanket, holding her close and stroking her hair.

“Tony stop.” Natalie whispered, her tears slowly stopping.

“No, I did this to you and I’m sorry.” Tony whispered back, careful not to wake anyone up. Natalie stayed quiet, getting off the bed and putting her clothes on from last night. She was about to put her shirt on when she saw angry love bites all over her neck from the mirror across the room.

“I thought you left with Moni.” Natalie said, putting her shirt on.

“She left with some drunken guy.” Tony said, getting up as well, putting on a pair of boxers and pants. He slipped a shirt over his head and looked at Natalie as she eyed the equally angry looking hickeys on his neck. “I can pass it off as Moni’s doing, you on the other hand can’t.” He said, softly stroking her neck. Natalie pulled away, walking to the front and seeing the guys passed out. Jaime, Jack and Vic were on the couch, Mike on the table while Rian, Zack, and Alex were on the floor. Natalie walked out, heading to the other bus and opening the door.

The girls were asleep on the couch with a movie playing. Natalie quietly walked to the back and sat on the bunk she shared with Alex. She took out her makeup bag from under the bed and began applying the foundation and powder. Once she felt satisfied with it, she walked back out and off the bus.

Natalie stopped in front of the PTV bus and let out a small sigh, tears threatening to fall. The door opened and Alex and Jack walked out. Natalie sniffed, and forced a smile. “About time you guy woke up, how are you feeling?” She asked. Alex yawned, shrugging while Jack held his head.

“Everything hurts.” He mumbled. Natalie nodded and Alex looked at her.

“Can we talk on the bus? The sun hurts.” Natalie giggled, nodding and they walked over to the bus. Alex saw the girls sleeping and he cleared his throat loudly, causing them to wake up.

“Sorry ladies, but the guys next door are too hung over for anything.”

“We’ll be on our way then.” Linda said, as they all stood up and began leaving. Once the doors closed, Alex turned to Natalie and became serious.

“What the hell happened last night?” He asked. Natalie’s eyes widened and she looked away.

“Something happened Natalie, you look paler than usual.” Jack said. Natalie stayed quiet, thinking whether she would tell them or not. She finally took a deep breath and looked at the floor.

“Tony and I had sex…” She whispered.

“What!?” Alex yelled. Natalie held his arm before he could storm out.

“Wait, it was an accident! We were both drunk and we didn’t know what we were both doing!” Natalie held Alex. Jack walked over and softly pushed Alex back.

“Natalie, we don’t care that you had sex with Tony, we care about what would happen to you with Austin.” Natalie stayed quiet and she heavily sighed.

“I don’t want to tell him, I promised him I wouldn’t be like his ex-wife.” Natalie whispered. Alex looked down at her and hugged her.

“You are nothing like her; she was a cold hearted bitch. It was one night and it as a mistake. We won’t tell him if you don’t want us to. It’s up to you.” Alex said, Jack agreeing behind him.

“Thanks, I’ll give him a call.” Natalie lightly smiled and hugged them both. She walked off the bus and took her phone out, sitting on the curb between the two buses. She dialed Austin’s number and he picked up after the third ring.

‘Hey, angel!’
He answered happily.

“Hi baby, how are you?” Natalie grinned at the sound of his voice.

‘Getting by, I miss you too much. But Alan is here with his cat so I have my mind off things.’
Natalie laughed and hugged her knees.

“We have to get ready, but I’ll text you tonight okay?” She asked.

‘Of course, I’ll be waiting.’
Austin assured. Natalie stayed quiet, listening to his breath before she softly spoke.

“I love you.” She said.

‘And I love you, angel.’
Austin grinned. They hung up and Natalie sat there, staring at the street and got back up.

It was just one night, nothing more. It meant nothing to me.
Natalie assured herself

See love, this is why I love you. Once I think I'm done with the whole story, you remind me of her and I realize, this can't be the end. One more chapter will be posted, THEN the epilogue.
