The Thing I Think I Love, Will Surely Bring Me Pain.
Chapter 14.
"Dude you called?"
"Yeah, what's up?"Austin and Alex said as they walked onto the bus. I sighed, not wanting to this to happen.
"So shit went down last night, and Addie's not staying at her bus, for safety reasons. Are one of you guys okay with keeping her in your bus?" Vic asked.
"What?" I felt Addie squirm and she brought her hand up to rub her eyes. "Why can't I stay here? And, Tony why am I on your lap?" She asked.
"Oh, you um.. had a nightmare. I put you on my lap and it went away." I said blushing. She nodded and leaned back into my chest.
"We're both cool with taking her." I sighed. I wasn't okay with this..At all.
"She can't just stay with us?"
"Tony, we already talked about this. She'll be fine. Addie, who do you wanna go with? The guys and I will walk over and pack your things."
"How is this going to help? I still have to work." She whispered.
"We'll figure that out later. We aren't stationed again until tomorrow afternoon."
"Vic, why are you just trying to send her off like this?" I asked. It may have come out harsher than I had anticipated because Addie's eyes widened.
"I'm not trying to get rid of her, if anything, I'm trying to fucking protect her!"
"Dude, just text us alright? Finish figuring it out. We'll see ya later Adeline." Austin said and gave her a hug. Alex winked at her and I pulled her closer to me and scowled at them as they walked out.
"Dude.." Vic said laughing. "Stop being so protective over her. You're acting like she's your girlfriend.." I saw Addie blush a deep red and I smirked.
"It's fine Vic.." She whispered.
"Yeah, see? It's fine." I told him. Addie looked up at me and stuck her tongue out. I laughed and kissed her nose.
"So what do you wanna do Adds?"
"I don't know, but I don't want to leave. You are the only people I'm comfortable around. Sure, the other guys are great and stuff, but I've been around you guys longer. I've grown to trust you, and they're still practically strangers to me." She said and got off of my lap, getting a water out of the mini fridge.
"I understand that, but they won't hurt you or anything. If we had any extra bunks, believe me, we'd keep you in a second, but-"
"She can take mine." She furrowed her eyebrows and shook her head.
"Tone, no. Then you're left with no where to sleep."
"I'll take the couch, it's fine.. and well, it would be weird if we shared it, right?" She shrugged and looked down.
"Would it?"
"Wait.. What?" Vic asked. "Holy shit. DO YOU LIKE-"
"Shut up!" She screamed. I raised my eyebrow.
"Go ahead Vic, ask your question." I said with a smirk.
"Fuck you both." She said laughing. "Can we go walk around?"
"Yeah sure, but only if you'll stay on the bus." She rolled her eyes and sighed dramatically.
"I suppose."
"Yes!" Vic and I both screamed and hugged her. She laughed and hugged us back.
"Where's Hime and Mike?"
"They're like, dead asleep in the bunks." Vic told her. She nodded and we walked out of the bus.
"ADDIE! ADD!" We heard someone screaming. She turned around and immediately grabbed Vic and I's arm. We turned around and stepped in front of her.
"Oh, so this is the bastard." I spat.
"Addie, please. Just talk to me.."
"Dave, leave me alone."
"ADELINE GOD DAMMIT PLEASE!"
"You heard her. Leave." Vic and I spat.
"Fuck you both. Addie, get the fuck over here." He said and reached between us and frabbed her wrist. She screamed in pain and I launched my fist into his nose. He let go of her and stumbled back. Addie grabbed the back of my shirt and cried. Vic wrapped her in a hug and I looked at Dave, and saw red. I grabbed him by the shirt and slammed him against the bus before throwing him down and and punching him. He grabbed me and rolled us over. I felt his fist connect with my face and I brought my leg up and kneed him in the stomach, making him cough and roll over. I slammed his head into the concrete, knocking him out.
"TONY!" Addie cried. "STOP IT!" I sighed and stood up. I flicked my wrist, feeling the adrenaline wear off and the pain to surface. I walked over to her and she let go of Vic and collapsed in my arms.
"Th-Thank you." She whispered once she calmed down. Vic and I were both shocked by her words.
"What?"
"For protecting me. I love you both."
"We love you too Adds. Let's go get something to eat." She nodded and pulled away. She gasped and ran her hand over my cheek. I took in a breath, feeling pain from the friction against it.
"I'm so sorry I caused this Tony.."
"Stop. This isn't your fault, I promise." I whispered and kissed her head. She nodded and we all headed out to get some food.
