Anna's P.O.V.

"Lizzie! Let go of my arm you idiot!" I screamed as she pulled me through the twists and turns of our backstage area, towards the stage."Chill out Anna, your aunt and uncle went to the store and you know your mom loves it when you sing, so let's just do it! Besides I need to do a sound check before the bands get here to make sure that everything is running smoothly. You know who is gonna be here and I am so stoked. "She said, still holding onto my arm like her life depended on it. She finally let go when we rounded the corner to the stage and left me standing in front of the mic. All the bands instruments had been dropped off the day before, and me and Lizzie have been procrastinating on sound checking them. On the front stand was a white with green accented guitar, I picked it up and strummed a chord. The music was a rush and it made my whole body come alive, I got goose bumps just holding the thing in my hands. I went to adjust the mic, but it was already the perfect height, wow he really is short huh? I laughed to myself a little before I heard Lizzie yell at me to play something. "Awe Anna you're gonna sing?" My mother walked into the front stage area with a blanket around her shoulders. "MOM go back to bed, it's really cold out here! And you need some rest." I said trying not to shudder at the toothpick I called my mom. Cancer had hit us hard, more like a freight train for her. My father left us after the first bill came in the mail for treatment, thankfully my mother's sister took us in, as long as I would work to help pay for the cost. I quickly learned how to strum a few chords and sing a few notes while here. This place is what we call The Little Hall of Fame.

"Anna! Hello... Earth to Anna." Lizzie yelled from the other side of the room, she was sitting behind the sound box waiting for me to play. "Oh sorry." I said. "Play a song from one of the bands coming, I wanna know how they sound before they get here." My mom put a forced smile on her face through all the pain. I decided on a song, perfect for her, I smiled back to her and started singing.

"I kissed the scars on her skin, I still think you're beautiful and I don't ever wanna lose my best friend..." I sang the whole song before I had realized that someone had walked in through the front, well a lot of people had walked in.Three bands worth to be exact. "ANNA!" a familiar voice yelled all the way from the back."KELLIN!" Lizzie screamed above them. The sound box being on the second floor.I jumped off stage and ran towards them and Lizzie ran as fast as she could down the stairs. She jumped and hugged Kellin, and I ran past him towards Justin, the same thing I did when we first met them ( we were more fan girlish back then and I usually prefer a guitarist).I looked around at the rest of sleeping with sirens laughing at us, and behind them stood the others, Tonight Alive and Pierce The Veil."Hi the name's Jaime, Hai-meh not Jay-me." the one with crazy hair said. "Nice to meet you my name is, well you already know I guess, but it's Anna. This chic over here is Lizzie." I said as sincere as I could."Don't let her fool you she already knows who all of you are." Lizzie came around from behind me and looked over at Vic. "Especially you." She winked at them all and I rolled my eyes. " We're really laid back girls so if you need anything just ask us." I finished and walked away just in time to hide the red on my cheeks."Hey, wait!" Vic shouted.I turned around to face him, slowly."That cover of our song was amazing, where did you learn to sing like that?"The smile on his face was from ear to ear and the way he was biting his lip was really turning me on, but I'd already told myself to stay away from band boys."Well when you spend six years of your life around a place that has nothing but music blasting almost every night, you pick up a few things."He looked over my shoulder to where my mother was."Who's that?" he said looking concerned."That's my mom." I said smiling, I choked on my words to keep my eyes from tearing up. He noticed, and quickly changed the subject. "So have you sound checked all the instruments already or do we have to do a little work."There was that smile again and it was so genuine, I couldn't help but fall in love with it, not him, but his smile."Well I could use a little help." I looked around to all the bands, laughing and enjoying themselves as they played with their instruments.This place was my life and I loved working here, making people happy, but something was missing. Vic stepped on stage and started to sing A Match Into Water, the same one I had sang. In that moment I realized what I was missing, Happiness for myself.So from there on out I decided to enjoy my time there."Hey Vic!"I yelled mid guitar solo. He looked down at me. "Can I sing with you?" I yelled, but he read my lips instead.He nodded and pulled me up on stage with him. We shared a mic and started singing together.

I laughed until I cried as they started to compliment us singing together, Lizzie stood there as surprised as I was, at my nerve to even ask if I could sing with him.And I looked down to where my mother sat and she was crying, but I knew they were tears of joy, because she hadn't seen me smile for six years. I jumped down and hugged her tight and I sat with her as PTV went through their set as well as SWS and Tonight Alive.After they were done we set up for their show the next day and said our goodbyes. But not before Vic kissed my forehead and traded numbers with me.They left and the place felt empty again, until the next day of course.
