"Muma, why are we going to grandma's?" Luna asked as she kicked the seat in front of her.

"Stop that." I scolded and placed my hand on her legs. "We're not really going to see grandma. We might go visit for a day but we're gonna be staying at abuela's house.

"Ooh! Will Tio Danny be there?" She said excitedly.

"Luna mi amor, why don't you take a nap. We'll be there when you wake up." Mike said to her. I let out a sigh and rested my head against the small airplane window.

"Hey." Mike said taking my hand. "Everything's going to be okay."

"No it's not." I frowned and felt tears welling up in the corners of my eyes. "Nothing is ever okay with him. It's always something. Getting hurt, getting arrested. Nothing is ever okay. Ever." I shook my head as the tears began to fall down my cheeks.

"You know what though? He always pulls through. He's made it this far bubby, he'll make it til the end."

"But Mikey what if this is the end? For him at least. It's been five days and he hasn't made the slightest bit of progress. He hasn't even woken up yet."

Mike leaned over and pressed his lips against mine abruptly, pulling me towards him by the back of my neck.

"You worry too much. Now take a nap mama, too much stress isn't good for the little one." He smiled that heart wrenching smile he's been pulling me in with since high school and wiped the tears from my cheeks with his thumb. "Or you for that matter. Not with that dark brain of yours." He tapped my forehead lightly and I smiled. My head rested on his shoulder and my eyes fluttered shut.

"Emely! Are you coming over tonight?" I shouted to my best friend as I walked out of our high school building.

"Yeah." She answered, turning from the conversation she was having with some kid on a bmx bike. "Vicky, this is my cousin Danny. Danny, I guess you already know who she is." Emely gave a little laugh and walked away from us, but not before Danny could glare at her.

"Hi." I said awkwardly.

"I think you're absolutely gorgeous." The tanned boy blurted out then began playing with his lip ring.

"O-oh! Thank you, I suppose" I looked down at my feet shyly.

"Can I have your number? I'd love to talk to you sometime." He smirked sweetly at me and picked at the rubber on the handlebars of his bike.

"Uh, sure. Here, let's swap phones." I bit my lip while I took the blackberry from his hand and he took my own.

The first time I met him.

"Danny! Danny stop it!" I screamed as he chased me down the sidewalk with a watergun.

"Never!" He yelled and sprayed down my entire body. I stopped running and crossed my arms over my chest, pouting at him.

"Aww Vicky don't be like that" He walked closer to me and pushed a wet lock of hair out of my vision.

"I'm soaking wet and my hair is messed up and my makeup is probably all over my face."

"You look beautiful..." He said softly.

"You're a lying jerk." I shoved him lightly and he closed his eyes, shook his head, and smiled while wrapping his arms around my waist. I felt my heart beating like crazy as his face got closer to mine.

"I'll be whatever you say I am. Just as long as you're still around." He whispered before he covered my lips with his own.

The first time he kissed me.

"Do you mind if I invite someone?" I asked my friend Michelle as she finished her makeup.

"Sure. We're just hanging out at the park." She laughed.

I pulled my phone out and texted Danny to meet me there in fifteen minutes. When Michelle and I got to the park, Danny was sitting on a swing with a single rose in his hand and a wide smile on his face.

"Oooooh!" Michelle laughed nudging me with her elbow.

"Shut up!" I hissed.

"Hey Vicky." He smiled as he walked over to me.

"Hi Danny" I grinned.

"I got this for you. I knew you'd like one rather then a whole bouquet."

I smiled and took the rose from him, laughing at the same time. He was right. I never would have wanted a whole bunch. I liked things to be simple. Michelle had gone off to hang out with a group of our friends that sat on a nearby bench, leaving Danny and I to ourselves.

"So..." Danny began nervously.

"So..." I smiled down at my feet.

"I really like you Victoria." He kicked around some of the woodchips by his feet.

"I know." I said. "I really like you too."

"So, I was wondering, if you would wanna be my girlfriend?"

I leaned over to him and pressed our lips together.

"I'd love to."

The day he asked me to be his.

"I thought you didn't like her." Danny said smugly, slamming his locker shut beside me.

"I don't! But I'm not just gonna stand there and do nothing! The girl was crying her eyes out Danny what would you have liked me to do!" I threw my hands into the air and followed him as he walked down the hallway away from me.

"I don't know, acted like someone who actually didn't like her." He said without turning around to look at me.

"Is this really a fucking argument right now."

"I don't know Victoria, is it?" He walked through the doorway and down the staircase, leaving me. I let out a sound of annoyance and headed to my class in the opposite direction.

Two periods later I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.

Hey, sorry about this morning. That was really dumb. Can we talk at lunch?

I rolled my eyes and replied back with a yes.

The first fight.

"Best friends right? No matter what?" I said, trying to hold the tears in my eyes.

"Forever. Just you and me." He smiled and linked our pinkies together.

"Flight 487 now boarding." The words boomed through the PA system in Newark Airport, making my heart race.

"I can't do this Danny. I need you." I cried.

"Tori! Let's go!" My dad called from the gate.

"Tori!" Collin screamed from his arms.

"Daddy I'm coming!" I yelled back.

"Hey, you'll be okay. We both will." He cupped my face in his hands and gave me an uneasy smile. I shook my head and squeezed my eyes shut.

"Nothing is ever going to be the same." I whispered and hugged him close while I started to cry.

"Shhhhh." He cooed and petted my hair. "Nothing will ever stay the same. Everything changes at some point right? Our change just happened to be a bit bigger then we wanted. I'm going to visit you all the time and you're going to visit me. We have our phones and skype. I'll call you so much you'll get sick of me."

"I love you" I mumbled to him.

"I love you too. Now get on that plane to San Diego." He smiled and let me go.

The day I left.

"Baby." I heard a voice calling me. "Victoria!"

"Go away..." I groaned squeezing my eyes shut.

"Muma get up we're here!" Luna screamed in my face.

"Jesus!" I said shooting up. I listened as my daughter giggled in Mike's arms.

"You two think you're funny don't you." I said as we walked through the airport. Mike held one of Luna's hands and I held the other, swinging her as we walked.

"Uh, yes. Because we are funny." Mike said. "Right La Luna?"

"Right Popa!" She nodded abruptly.

"Ahh! Mi hermosa Luna mi amor!"

"Abuela!" Luna screeched and flew into Danny's mothers arms.

We said our hello's before grabbing our luggage and walking out to her car.

"Bueno, por lo que la Luna se va a quedar en casa conmigo. Dos vas sobre el hospital." She said looking up at us sternly. (Okay, so Luna is going to stay at home with me. You two go right over to the hospital)

"Sí mamá" I groaned internally and rolled my eyes.

"Quieres la chancla?" She raised her eyebrows at me as she parked the car in her driveway. Mike held a laugh in and I smacked his arm.

"No mamá, lo siento. Soy de estresado." I sighed softly. She nodded and handed the keys to Mike before taking Luna in the hosue with her.(No mom, I'm sorry. I'm just stressed out)

"Ready?" Mike said softly while he pushed a piece of my hair behind my ear.

"No..." I frowned and got into the passenger seat of the car.

I would never be ready for this.
