Tear This Place Apart
Chapter 2
'You're gonna do great things son. Good luck.'
I smiled. I feel very blessed to have supportive parents who believe in what I do, even though it's not prospective. Taking up graphic design in San Diego State University might be a gamble compared to other promising courses, but at least it's better than not going to college. I've dreamed of starting my own band once I graduate from high school and just straightly plunge into the music business, but the thought of getting a degree first sounds... Safe.
I gave my parents one last hug before I went to my car. Once I got inside, I looked at my parents one last time. Mama was crying tears of joy and papa was just smiling. It was bittersweet. I might be in the same city as SDSU, but it's quite far from home, so I had to find my own place to live. I waved them goodbye and made my way to my new apartment.
I found out about the apartment that I'm gonna be living in from the internet, and I gotta admit, it's not too shabby. I even went there before to make sure that it's just like the photos, and it was. Sure there might be some problems with the furniture and stuff, but at least I got to live under a cheap roof near campus.
After 2 hours on the road, I finally reached the building. I immediately grabbed all my things and brought them to my apartment. Just as I reached there, I realized that there was water coming out from my neighbor's door. Instincts told me to knock on the door, and so I did. Suddenly, this pale girl with weird features was in front of me. From her wet shoes and hair, I could tell that she was having problems with the building's oh-so famous faulty plumbing.
'Hey, um, I'm your new neighbor, Vic. I see you're having trouble with the plumbing.' I said nervously.
She looked confused at first, and gave me a half-smile, but her eyes told me that it wasn't sincere. 'No shit Sherlock.'
Spicy, what's up with her attitude ?
'Look, I don't mean to disturb you or anything. Just wanted to help you. Your faulty sink, toilet, or whatever will wet my apartment too you know.'
A sigh came out from her mouth. 'You sure you can fix it ?' she asked.
I didn't hesistate. 'Absolutely.'
