All Again For You

I'm Lying Just To Keep You Here

A couple of months had passed, and I was adjusting to my new job title of Editor-in-Chief of the LA division at Alternative Press Magazine. It was going great! A bit of a change, but I loved it nonetheless. Plus, I still got to write and that's all I cared for.

Papers were stacked on top of my desk, of new cover ideas that I had the option of choosing, interviews, and articles that were waiting for me to edit; I was stoked. Mike sat across from me, his eyebrows furrowed as he read a paper. He came in with me today and voluntarily decided to help me out. "What are you looking at?" I questioned, half sorry for making him stop looking so cute as he read the paper.

"This thing about who Alt. Press might want for interviews this upcoming year."

"Ah, do you see a few names you recognize?" I asked with a smirk.

"Just this band called Pierce the Veil, no biggie." He grinned looking up at me.

"Yeah, they want to interview you guys either right before the new album is released, or afterwards."

"You just have the inside scoop, don't you?"

"They don't call me the EIC for nothing, babe." I winked.

"You did not just abbreviate editor-in-chief to EIC?" He let out a bellowing laugh.

I nodded with a smile, but then laughing also. Katelynne peeked in a moment later, "Hey, don't forget that your appointment is today, Luce."

"Oh yes! Thank you, I completely forgot about that." I thanked her, earning a nod and a smile from her as she went back to her desk.

"Appointment for what?" Mike asked, a hint of worry in his voice.

"Nothing bad. I have to get my birth control shot today. It's been three months since my last one already!" I explained, grabbing some papers.

"Oh fuck, already?" He asked, playing with paper clips.

I nodded, "Yes sir. Time to get that shot in my arm, buggie." I smacked my arm. Every three months, I got the birth control shot, the Depo Shot. It was a lot easier for me to get a shot four times a year, than it was to take a stupid pill everyday, so I've been on it for years.

"What time is it at?"

I searched through my phone's calendar, "3:30. Are you down to come with me?"

"It would be an honor and a privilege." He answered in a creepy tone.

I giggled, unable to not smile at him. "You're too much, Fuentes."

We spent up until 2:45 working and organizing. I let Kate go home early, and Mike and I left to go to the doctor's office. I was driving since he had no idea where it was at. "You've ever come with me, right?" I questioned as I parked the his car.

"Doctor's give me the heebie-jeebies."

"Stop being a pussy." I laughed, grabbing my back from the backseat as he walked towards me.

"Shut up."

"I'm joking, baby. It's okay that you get the heeb-jeebs."

He chuckled, pulling me into a side hug as we walked up to the building. "You're a dork."

We got onto the elevator and rode up to the third floor, stepping out and walking down the hall into the office. Mike sat down on one of the chairs while I signed myself in and made small talk with one of the nurses. "Did he finally come with you today?" She asked, referring to Mike.

I nodded, "Yeah. He didn't really have a choice today."

"You should make him go in with you so you can show him that plastic uterus that you freaked out at when you saw it, remember?" The nurse named Diana laughed, talking about an incident that happened a few years ago.

"Oh my god, I should." I grinned evily, then laughed. Waving her off so I could sit beside Mike. He was staring at the pregnant women in the room, his eyes growing big.

"Holy fuck, that girl is huge." He whispered to me as he stared at one of the pregnant women in our vicinity.

"Yeah, she's probably almost to her due date. This is probably her last check up."

"Pregnancy is weird."

I nodded, "You're telling me. They look cute, though." I rested my head on his shoulder.

"You're gonna look cute when you are pregnant. Well, not cute, more like even more beautiful than you already are." He mumbled, causing me to smile widely. Butterflies shot out of their hiding place and into my stomach, fluttering and fluttering away.

I looked up at him, "Why are you so cute?"

"Well, that's just what I am." He smirked, kissing my forehead.

"Lucy?" One of the other nurses called out my name.

I stood up and grabbed my bag, and took Mike's hand and made him go with me. We followed the nurse through a door that led to the rooms. "You know the drill, Lucy." The nurse, Ruby, said and smiled at me. I nodded, handing Mike my bag and went into the restroom to leave a urine sample. Once I was out, I had sat in the chair as Ruby took my blood pressure, asked about my last period, then took my weight. She led us into the room as I sat on the table, and Mike in a chair.

I hopped off of the table once I had spotted the plastic uterus that was by the sink. "Hey babe, look." I took it and handed it to him.

"What the fuck is this?" He gave me a disgusted look.

"That's a model of a uterus. This is what you stick your wiener into." I laughed as he continued to look at it like it was the most disgusting thing on the planet.

"Ew, this is gross." He handed it back to me.

"Penises are gross too, you know? At least vaginas are sort of pretty."

Him and I looked at one another and laughed at how silly we were. I sat back on the table and the nurse walked in with the doctor. "Miss Lucy, how are you?" The doctor asked as he shook my hand. "Is this the boyfriend?" He questioned shaking Mike's hand.

"That's me. I'm Mike." He shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you." He turned to me. "How are you feeling, Lucy?"

"I'm good. Not too many cramps, anymore."

"Great. And the shot is still working with you?"

I nodded, "Sure is."

He wrote things down on his clipboard. "Have you been sexually active?"

I smirked, "Well, duh." The doctor and nurse laughed as Mike rolled his eyes and shook his head, smiling.

"Alright. Well, that's all I needed to know. Elise here is going to give you your shot and you're good to go."

"Sounds wonderful." I shook his hand as he left. I lifted up the sleeve of my shirt and the nurse rubbed alcohol on my arm with a cotton ball, then gave me the shot, then slapped a band-aid on it.

"And, we're done. Thanks, Luce. You can go ahead and make your appointment for the next one."

I nodded, "Thank you." Mike carried my bag as we walked up to the front and Diana scheduled my next appointment.

"Did you show him the uterus?" She asked, giggling.

I laughed, "Yes. He said it was gross."

Mike looked at me and laughed, "It was."

Mike and I went to Olive Garden for an early dinner after we left the doctor's office. We were talking about the guys' new album that was set to come out later this year. "I'm so excited!" Mike exclaimed, unaware that everyone was staring at us.

"I'm excited to hear it."

"You could've heard it a long time ago but you didn't want too."

"Because I'm going to be reviewing it, stupid. I want to hear it when everyone else will hear it."

"I'm curious to know what you're gonna say." He smirked as he sipped on his drink, his dark eyes never leaving me.

"You'll find out when I hear it, bug. Shea and Marc were really into me reviewing the new album, so I really didn't have a choice." I rolled my eyes out of annoyance, jokingly of course.

He laughed, "I know I always joke about you just giving us a good review, but I hope we get a good one from you because we earned it. Not because I fuck your brains out and you enjoy it."

I almost spit out my peach tea, because I was laughing uncontrollably. He joined along laughing hard, then the waitress came out with our food. I was still laughing when she asked us if the food looked okay, and Mike answered for me, laughing himself, "It looks great, thanks."

"You're so dumb. Oh my god, I love you." I continued laughing as I twirled around the pasta with my fork.

"And, I love you. " He looked into my eyes and I looked in his, smiling peacefully and happily.

We ate our food, then sat there talking about anything and everything under the sun. Conversation was always so easy with Mike, and I liked that. I was a very talkative person, outgoing; so having someone who was the same made it so simple for me to be around them. Mike and I understood one another. We got each other's stupid and unfunny jokes, we could talk about music, movies, and everything. I loved being around him not only because he was my boyfriend and I was in love with him, but I loved talking to him. It was never uncomfortable or weird to talk about things with him. Even if I thought bringing a topic up would be weird, it never was. I could always be myself in his company.

"Why do you have to leave for tour?" I groaned as laid on my bed, looking up at Mike as he was packing.

"Because it's my job, fool. Come here and sit on my suitcase so I could zip it up." I moved myself from my crook in the bed and sat on top of his suitcase.

"You pack way too many clothes. You wear the same thing anyway." I said making him smile.

"I gotta look good for the ladies." He winked, making my roll my eyes as he zipped up his suitcase. He tackled me onto my back on the bed, his arms wrapped around me. "I'm gonna miss you, Luce."

I frowned, "It's going to be really weird not having you here."

"You promise you'll come out to some shows?"

"LA and San Diego, babe." It made me sad that Mike was leaving for tour. I was excited for him and the guys, though. Their last record, Collide With The Sky was their biggest one to date, and it took them all over the world. This once was already set to top that one and take them even further.

"I wish I could take you with me."

"How annoying would that be? For me to be around all the time?"

"You don't annoy me now. And you're around all the time." He grinned, outsmarting me.

"Touche, babe."

"I love you. I want you to know that."

"Oh, I know." I smirked, "I love you too, Mike. Forever and ever."

"Good. Now that we cleared at up, it's time to make love." He began leaving sloppy kisses on my face, making me laugh. I'm sure going to miss him.

@cosette_: I left that up to you and your imagination. I personally would have had them get married, but ultimately that is up to you. You can think up your own future that they had with each other and with their family and friends.

If they got married, had kids, if she made up with Austin. Their life, and everyone else's. Like Lynda and Brandon, or if she sees her parents again. You know?
