Vic and I arrived at this very fancy restaurant, "Vic, this place is so nice!"
"Buzz, Buzz"
I check my phone, "Shit vic this is Owen I have to take this!"
"Hello?"
"Iris, help... help it is bad getting bad!" Owen says crying.
"Okay Owen breath, I need you to tell me what is going on or what has happened."
"I want to die." Owen hangs up the phone.
"Shit, Shit, Shit, ok, ok, Iris calm down." I say to myself Vic tries to comfort me as best as possible.
I try to dial Owen again, owen's mom answers "Iris, he just took a lot of pills what do I do?" "Please god not again!" She says under her breath.
"How many did he take, what is, it and when did he take them, call the police tell them that information, call them right now!"
Owens mother hangs up, "God Vic, I am sorry having a job like this, its hard. I feel the pain that Owen feels. Can you help me book a flight to see him?"
"Iris, he will be okay. He is in his mothers care!" Vic says while taking hold of my hand.
"No, no this is all because of his mother. I can't tell you anymore, I am obligated not to tell anyone anything he tells, me unless he says it is ok. I am sorry." Tears start stream down my face, I am so nervous, I feel so guilty.
"shh darling, you'll be okay," Vic sings into my ear while holding me, he wipes my tears of my face.
"I feel like it is all my fault, that he took those pil..." Vic interrupts me mid sentence.
"It is not your fault, shh Iris, I am here, you need to talk to me."
"Buzz, Buzz"
"How is he? Did you get him to a hospital?" I stutter my words because of how upset I am.
"Yes, the doctors are working very hard to get the toxins out of his blood." I hear his mother crying on the other side of the phone.
"Do I need to come down to see him?" I ask trying to hold back the tears.
"No, I need to do this on my own." Owens mother says in a very stern voice.
"I suggest you just give him his space for a while, tell him to give me a call when he is better. Okay talk to you later."
I hangup, Vic quickly asks me "Is he going to be okay?" and gives me a hug, I nod in his shoulder.
"Buzz, Buzz"
