Perfectly Imperfect

Chapter 12 Part 1

*Vic's P.O.V.*

Tony and Jaime left shortly after, leaving me in my white sanctuary. I felt as though they just left me here because they felt awkward. But it didn't bother me as much as it should have. Nothing seemed to bother me anymore except Riley's immobile health conditions.

I held onto her hand tightly, losing myself in the moment. She reminded me of a doll; her porcelain-like skin felt cold underneath my warm touch. I was afraid to touch her. She seemed fragile, and I was afraid to break her.

I reached over and ran my finger over her smooth jaw line. I kissed that same jaw over a thousand times, and if I could, I'd kiss it a thousand more.

I sighed, thinking about our first fight. It wasn't very pleasant, and it almost tore us apart.

I had been on tour for a month, and I was due to return to home any hour now. I was so excited to see Riley that I couldn't wait. She was going to come to our San Deigo show, and I couldn't wait to hold her in my arms again.

I looked around for my phone, and to my dismay, I couldn't find it.

"Vic," Jaime poked his head around the aisle, "The bus is ready to go. Finish buying those items and let's go. Only an hour left!"

I looked up at him in panic, dropping the bag of chips I grabbed. "Jaime," I hissed, "I can't find my phone. I dropped it in my cart, but...oh shit. Tony took my cart, right?"

Jaime looked at me with wide eyes and ran to find Tony. I followed him and we found Tony, but no cart.

"Tony!" Jaime called out.

Tony's head snapped up in alarm.

"Where's the cart?" I asked, panic shooting through me.

"Some woman needed it more than me. Her daughter is apparently a huge fan, so I signed her shirt too," he looked at us, confused, "Why?"

"Tony! My phone was in there!" I nearly screamed, "Didn't you see it?"

"Well, sorry! It must have fallen on the bottom or something, because I did NOT see a phone," he held his hands up.

I nearly broke down in tears of frustration as I gave up. "Whatever. I'll worry about it later. We're almost at San Degio, I'm sure Riley will understand when I tell her," I sighed.

Jaime handed me his phone, "Here, text her."

I smiled up at him, and typed out a quick summary of the problem before handing it back to him. "Thanks so much man, it means a lot to me," I thanked him.

"I know," he smiled at me knowingly.

We walked back to the bus and I stopped him before he could talk, "I know what you're going to say. 'She's the one', blah blah blah. I still think it might be a bit early to tell."

He looked at me in shock, "Are you stupid? Just admit it, dude! You guys have been dating for, what? A year now? Just fucking admit it!"

I smiled a bit, and tried to hide it. He saw my smile and pointed at me. "See! I told you! I knew it!" He shouted, "So, when's the wedding?"

"Shut the fuck up and eat your chips. We're almost in San Deigo," I laughed.

Wedding...hmm.

We arrived in San Diego just in time for our meet and greet. My thoughts were focused on Jaime's earlier comment. I knew he was joking, but I couldn't help but think of a wedding. Riley in a gorgeous white gown, walking up the aisle towards me. Me slipping the ring on her slim finger. Me, actually being able to call her mine, and sealing it with a kiss. I couldn't help but smile as I thought of the night after.

"Vic," Tony nudged me, "Snap out of it!"

"Sorry!" And that was when I saw her. She looked just as beautiful as always. Her golden hair shone in the sunlight, and her eyes twinkled. She nervously bit her lip as she saw me notice her. I smiled and waved, wanting to just get up and hold her forever. She gave me a tiny wave and a half-hearted smile. Something was bothering her. I could tell.

After the meet and greet, I practically ran over to her. I engulfed her in a massive hug, holding her tightly in my arms. She hesitated for a couple seconds before returning the hug.

I pulled away and looked at her. She was looking down, and I knew something was really wrong. "Baby, what's wrong?" I pushed her chin up with a finger, but her eyes remained on the ground.

"Nothing," she shook her head.

"You'd tell me if something was bothering you, right?" Worry coursed through my body.

"Yea..." she said awkwardly.

I sighed as my manager told us that I had to go do a sound check.

"I'll see you at the show?" I asked hopefully.

"Yes," she said. She sounded...sad.

All through sound check, I wondered what could be bothering her. Could it be that she found someone new? Just the thought of that made me want to cry. Instead, I put my emotions into my work.

When I got on stage that night, I belted every lyric, pouring the emotion from within me into the crowd. I threw myself into the crowd, letting my fans guide me above them. Suddenly I felt hands grab my crotch. Well that was weird.

My fans led me back up to the stage, and I returned with a smile. I was secretly dreading leaving the stage that night, but all good things must come to an end.

I exited the stage, and dragged my feet over to Riley. She greeted me with a passionate kiss, almost as if it'd be our last. I hungrily returned it, missing the way her lips felt against mine. I heard cat calls from the boys and Mike called out, "Get a room!"

We broke apart and I looked at her, taking in her miserable face.

"Can we go somewhere private?" She whispered.

I nodded and took her into my tiny dressing room.

"What's wrong?" I asked, near tears.

She sat on the couch and looked down. "Someone came to me today," she took a deep breath, "I'm not going to ask for names or details, I just want to know. Why did you do it?"

I looked at her confused, "What do you mean? Why did I do what?"

"Vic, I know about what happened on tour. And I don't blame you, you're a rock star. Sometimes things get overwhelming and they get forgetful. But you could have atleast told me, instead of pretending that nothing happened."

I figured she was talking about my phone and I sighed, "Ry, that was an accident! I never meant to-"

I was cut off by her pointing an accusatory finger at me, "It was not an accident, Victor! You don't just accidentally put your dick in someone else's vagina!"

I looked at her weird, "What the fuck are you talking about?"

"Stop pretending like you don't know. I have proof you cheated on me. I just...I trusted you Victor! I thought you were different! I could actually see myself having a future with you and I...I fucking love you to death, Vic. But I guess that isn't enough for you. I'll never be enough," Riley screamed, tears and make up peeling down her face in rapid motions.

"Riley, I never fucking cheated on you! I love you!"

She handed me my phone, the phone that I lost. Realization hit me. I've been sabotaged. By my own fans.

Notes

I decided to break this into two parts, the memory is too long.

What do you think happened? Part 2 is on the way!

I'm also going to keep on writing tonight, and hopefully be finishing up soon! Only 3 (and a half) chapters to go! Let the countdown commence!
