that's exactly how I look at it too. Yea, grammar and spelling are important to have, but the main thing that makes a story successful is capturing the readers attentions and having them connect with the story on an emotional level

Yeah, that's what I try to do also. That's a good thing to do because it makes writing it easier in a way, and it also makes it so not only you feel what the characters feel, but also the readers effectively can feel what the characters feel, which is what makes the story successful

That couldn't be any more true. I guess the author needs to become attached to the character in order for the readers too. Maybe making a bond between the characters and author(s) helps. I know when I was writing this, I put myself in Vic's shoes, trying to feel how it felt to have your world spin and crash out of control. Same with when Riley woke up briefly, I tried to put myself in her position and described it as best as I could.

That makes perfect sense, though! A while back I started a story with the intention of making her evil in the end, but I ended up becoming soo attached to the character without even meaning to! It's so hard! But sometimes you just gotta do it... A good story evokes emotions in its readers and even makes them cry, and your story did both of those things for me. But I see what you mean! Gah! Incredible
