Chapter 9~I'm sorry.
~Kari’s POV~
I woke up and saw rays of sun peeking through the blinds in my room. I got up to see that it was 7:30 in the morning. Since it was Sunday, that meant my dad probably wasn’t up yet. I quickly made my bed and gathered my Asking Alexandria shirt with some black skinny jeans and headed to the bathroom. I showered, dressed and towel dried my hair. After putting on my black vans, I headed downstairs. My dad was still asleep so I decided to make him breakfast and apologize about the day before. I really did feel bad. I took out some pans and ingredients to make him some French toast and bacon. I prepared him some coffee as well. When I was nearly done, I heard my dad walking down the stairs. He took a seat at the table and I placed the coffee in front him. I went back to the stove and fixed him a plate of food. I handed it to him and he thanked me for it. I got a plate for myself and sat across from him. We sat there in silence for a moment eating.
“Da-dad” I stuttered.
“Yea?” he asked emotionless.
“Look I’m really sorry about yesterday. I didn’t mean to ruin your day and I want to make it up to you. How about I make it up to you and we go anywhere you want today?”
“Apology accepted. And I understand that you and Tony don’t like each other, but please just don’t try to kill him every time you see him. And how about we go to the zoo?”
“Fine’ I’ll try to not kill him,” I said while laughing a little, “and yea the zoo sounds like fun.” After we were done eating, my dad headed upstairs to shower. Once he returned downstairs, we drove off to the zoo. After the struggle of finding a parking spot, we exited the car and I went to go pay for the tickets. I returned with the tickets and we headed inside. At the zoo we observed the animals in awe. We chased around the loose ducks and peacocks. I felt like it was old times when it was my dad, my sister, my mom and I. Those were the good days. After about four hours of being at the zoo, my dad and I went for some ice cream. We talked the whole time about funny memories and just enjoyed each other’s company. We got home at about five o’clock. I was exhausted so I headed straight to my room but my dad stayed in the living room watching t.v. I grabbed my ipod and flopped onto my bed, placing earphones in my ears. Without noticing, I drifted into a deep sleep.

I woke up the next morning with the earphones still in my ears. I had drained out the battery on my ipod. I removed the earphones and headed downstairs to make my dad breakfast and lunch. When I was done, I was surprised to see that my dad wasn’t out of his room yet. I walked upstairs and opened the door to his room to see him getting ready in a hurry. “What’s going on dad?” I questioned. “I woke up late. I’m in a hurry.” He said as he walked past me. He headed downstairs and took just a few bites of his food before grabbing his lunch box and heading out the door. I locked the door behind him and began to wash the dishes. When I was done, I headed upstairs and took a shower. I put on a black and red plaid shirt and black skinny jeans along with black vans. I grabbed the house keys and locked the door as I headed towards the park. I sat on a tree just thinking about random things and singing songs to myself. About 40 minutes later, I returned home to see that my dad had forgotten his phone on the counter. I grabbed it along with my car keys and headed out the door once again. I climbed into my car and started towards the construction site. I clenched my teeth at the thought of what had happened the last time I was there. I arrived and I got out of the car. As soon as I stepped foot on the construction site, I saw Tony standing near my uncle. I began to walk in my dad’s direction which required walking past Tony. I walked by and I saw him take a step closer to me. I stopped in my tracks and turned to him. “Not today.” Was all I said before continuing to walk. I finally reached my dad, “Kari, what are you doing here?” he asked a bit surprised. “You forgot your phone at home. I just came by to bring it. See you at home.” I said handing him his phone and I made my way towards my car.
