She'd rather see me dead than face me.

Chapter 8~I don't think soccer balls belong on your face.

~Kari’s POV~
I walked into the kitchen trying to cool off from what had happened in the living room. I can’t believe that asshole poured soda on me just to try to get me to leave my own house. I was standing in the kitchen when suddenly I felt something hit my back. I turned around slowly to see Tony with his hand dirty with guacamole. Without thinking twice I ran at him and tackled him to the floor. I hovered him and yelled in his face, “you little fucking asshole! I told you if I ever saw you again, you were dead!” Right at that moment, my dad entered the kitchen, “No one is dead. What the hell is going on here?” my dad questioned. Tony replied “what’s going on here is that your daughter is a freakin’ psychopath!”
” Well none of this would of happened if you wouldn’t of invited this asshole!” I said to my dad trying to justify myself. I saw my dad walk to the back door, “you two,” he said while pointing at us, “outside. NOW.” We both got up and stepped outside with my dad following as he closed the door behind him. “Ok what seems to be the problem here?” my dad questioned a bit irritated. “He’s the problem.” I said pointing to Tony. “No, your bitching is the problem” Tony spat back. We started a war of insults that quickly interrupted by my dad, “That’s enough!” he yelled, voice booming in the backyard. We silenced ourselves and looked down. “You two are going to stay out here for the rest of the game and if it’s necessary, for dinner too! If either of you leave, Kari is grounded. I don’t care if you’re 19. And Tony I’ll fire you. I’m not messing around!” he walked away towards the door and left us stranded with each other in the backyard. “Great.” I murmured under my breath. Tony must’ve heard, “Hey don’t think that I don’t hate this.” He said while looking at me. I rolled my eyes and looked around the yard for anything to distract myself with. My eyes stopped roaming when they landed on my old soccer ball. I wanted to avoid Tony as much as possible and since he already ruined watching the soccer game, I might as well play it. I picked up the ball and walked until I stood in front of the fence. I set it down and kicked the ball at the fence every time it sent it back to me.
”Oh so you think you’re good at skating and soccer?” said the annoying voice that I was so sick of hearing.
“Yea, got a problem with that?” I said with a bit too much attitude.
“Yes I do actually. You shouldn’t be acting like you’re all good at it because I know I’m better.”
“Oh really? Is that a challenge?”
“Maybe it is.”
“Are you sure? I wouldn’t want to see you cry about getting your ass beat again.” I said while fake pouting.
“Fine. I’ll just have to prove I’m better. We take turns being goalie and whoever make the most goals in five minutes wins.”
“Fine. Ladies first so that means you’re going first.” I said half-jokingly.
“First of all, I’m not a lady. I’m not even sure you are. But I’ll go first just to give you time to forfeit.”
I went to go stand in front of the fence as Tony positioned himself in front of me. ”Let’s see what you got cocky bastard.” I said. He kicked the ball and missed. He kicked it again, and missed once again. He finally made the third try. “Ha! In your face!” he said. “I wouldn’t be celebrating just yet if I were you.” I said. After his five minutes were over, he had made only 13 goals.
“Your turn,” he said handing me the ball, “unless you want to forfeit.”
“Trust me, you are no competition.” I said while positioning myself in front of him. I kicked the ball, and made a goal. He returned me the ball and I kicked it again. Another goal. I missed the third. ”Ha not so good are ya?” he said with a smirk. I grunted and kicked the ball for the fourth time. I kicked it too high and the ball made VERY harsh contact with Tony’s face. “Oww.” He said as soon as the ball hit him. He put his hand to his face as it turned red from the ball. I couldn’t help but laugh. He took his hand off his face and looked at it. Blood. Blood continued to gush from his nose.
“Aren’t you going to help me?!” he nearly yelled.
“Hmm I dunno if I want to…” I said while looking away.
“Fuck you!” he yelled while looking at me in disbelief and began to make his way to the door. “Jesus!” he yelled repeatedly while pounding on the door.
My dad finally got to the door, “What happened?” he questioned.
“Kari kicked a ball to my face” he said.
I tried to justify myself “it was an accident I swear!”
“yea whatever.” Tony said. I glared at him. Maybe not helping him was a little mean, but you can’t just be a bitch to someone then expect them to help you right away.
“Kari get in here and help Tony.” I grunted a little too loudly and began to walk inside with Tony following. We entered the bathroom.
“Sit.” I commanded Tony while pointing to the toilet. He surprisingly did as told. I kneeled in front of him, “Let me see.” I said. He removed his hand from his face. The blood was still gushing out and had gotten all over his face and hand. ”Oh damn…I’m…” I trailed off. NO. I wasn’t going to apologize to that asshole.
“You’re what?” he said.
“Nothing,” I said trying to cover what I almost said, “I’ll be right back.” I said as I left the bathroom and entered the kitchen. I grabbed a bottle of vinegar and took it back to the bathroom with me.
“What’s that for?” Tony questioned while pointing to the vinegar. “
Vinegar cuts off the blood flow so it will stop bleeding.” I said.
“I’m not putting that in my nose! It’ll burn like a bitch!” he protested.
“So you wanna keep bleeding?” I asked.
“Ughhh fine.” He said. I ripped off a paper towel and poured a bit of vinegar on it. I then rolled it up so it would fit in his nose and handed it to him. He hesitated to take it so I stepped closer and put it in his nose myself. He began to hiss in pain from the burn.
“You didn’t have to do that. I can do it myself.” He said. I rolled my eyes and left the bathroom without another word. I entered the living room to see that the game had already ended and the guests had already left.
“Where is everyone?” I asked my dad which was the only person left in the living room.
“They all left.” He answered in a monotone voice.
“Why? I thought they were staying for dinner.”
“Well yea but they all left because they thought you and Tony wouldn’t stop fighting.”
“Oh come on! It’s not even that big of a deal!” I said a little angry.
“Actually, I don’t blame them Kari. I don’t see why you two can’t go just two minutes without fighting.” My dad walked away and headed upstairs. I sighed. I felt bad for ruining my dad’s day and I could tell he was upset with me. Just then, Tony walked out of the bathroom with his face and hands blood free.
“Hey I stopped bleeding. I think I better go before another bitch comes and kicks me in the face.” He said while evily chuckling at the end. I was too upset to even fight back.
“ Yea whatever bye.” I said.
“Okay….” He said trailing off while giving me a confused look. He went out the door and I locked it behind him. I sighed and began to pick up the trash left behind from the other guests.
