Were You Honest When You Said...?

Trust Me, Mick

The next morning I woke up in Jaime's bed alone. Sitting up, I rubbed my head. It felt like someone smacked me and my throat burned. Getting up slowly, I walked to the living room to find Tony, Vic, and Lex all on the couch watching TV. Looking around, I saw no sign of anyone else.
"Where is everyone?"
"The Of Mice and Men guys all went home after waking a very upset Alan up. Mike left literally two minutes ago and Jaime is showering." Lexi answered.
"Ah, anyone else feeling as crappy as me?"
"I am, and wanna go home." Vic whined.
"Then go?"
"I needed to talk to you first." He said. "Our merch girl quit"
"What?" I groaned. "Do I have to do the booth alone now?"
"Actually, you can invite someone along to help." He smiled and I thought for a moment before getting it.
"You're finally letting Lexi join us on tour?"
"As long as you two follow the rules and stay out of trouble. Yes."
Both Lexi and I squealed before tackling my brother in a hug. Tony laughed at us cause we all fell to the ground. Soon we were all just laughing about it until Jaime walked in. He was dressed and a beanie over his dampened hair.
"What are you freaks doing?" He asked.
"Lexi gets to go on tour this summer." Tony explained while we all got back up.
"Nice. We need more women with us." Jaime winked, making Lexi gag at him. "Anyway. Mickey do you plan on going home or wanna borrow some of my clothes and hang out now?"
"I'd prefer go home. Your clothes are huge on me."
"You two are hanging out?" Vic asked.
"Yes Vic. Its what friends do." I teased. "I'll be back in an hour or less Jaime. I promise."
"I'll just go over with you. Less gas wasted." He suggested. I shrugged and looked at Lexi and Tony.
"What about you two?"
"Tony asked me to hangout with him." Lexi said. "Vic refused to let us leave, but now that I know why. I'll talk to you later."
"Sounds good."
We left Jaime's and went our separate ways. Once Vic, Jaime, and I all got home I quickly left upstairs to shower and change.
******** Jaime's POV. * * * *
Vic and I just talked about last night. He wanted to know how bad both him and Mickey were. I told him about him whining and Mickey getting sick. He asked me to go over everything about our summer tours since Mickey liked to space off whenever he tried.
I couldn't blame her, he adds in all his extra rules for her and her alone. I'll never understand their relationship. Either Vic is ridiculously protective and pisses Mickey off or they're practically inseparable and perfectly in sync.
"Okay I'm good to go." Mickey said coming back downstairs. She was wearing some grey shorts and a Glamour Killz tee.
"Great. I'm starving." I said getting up.
We said farewell to Vic before leaving their house. I waited till we were at the diner I choose to get food at to talk about anything.
"So, how was your school year?" I asked, just as the waitress left with our orders.
"Easier then last year, academic wise." Mickey said before frowning. "Socially, it was a lot worse."
"Socially?" I asked, a little worried.
"Some chick found who I was and told the entire dorm building." She said.
"How the fuck did she figure out you were related to Vic and Mike?"
“I'm not sure. But I swear I was about to kill next person who asked for phone numbers and/or free tickets."
"I'm sorry." I said, offering a smile.

This happened to Mickey back in high school too. All the girls in her grade wouldn't leave her alone. Even a few guys tried using her to for either fame or to get stuff for other girls they really liked. Needless to say, Mick's only real friends were Lexi, us, and other bands we associate with.

"Its not your fault. And it was okay for a while in between all of it."
"Really?"
"Yeah, there was this guy..." she trailed off for a moment and I had go bite my tongue.
"Does Mickey have a boyfriend?" I asked in a teasing tone, even it bugged me.
“No, I mean, I kinda did for a moment. We hung out a lot, and he was really sweet to me and all but in the end...I broke it off.”
“Why?” I asked, concerned.
“Well, after the rumor spread around, he eventually got wind of it. Asked me all sorts of questions and after that he couldn't stop fucking bragging.” She explained, then mocked this apparent asshole's voice. “'My girlfriends famous' and 'My girlfriend is so hot and related to a band' I think the worse was, 'I'm banging the sister of the Fuentes brothers.' Seriously? One, I am not famous. Two, I'm pretty sure he's never listened to your guy's music, and three? I heard the last one going to surprise him in the cafeteria. I ended it right there.”
“Harsh...” I said. “Boys suck, you shouldn't bother.”
“I wish I didn't.” She sighed. “I should only love you and the many friends we have.”

The waitress came back and set down out food. Mickey got a little quiet, somewhat picking at her food.

“Hmm,” I decided to ask a crazy question. “Have you ever thought of dating one of us...er... our friends?”
“Oh yeah, sure.” She answered like it was no big deal. “However, it would be....weird.”
“Weird?”
“Yeah.” She finally ate something. “I mean, first of all, everyone I would probably see as 'dating' material is like, a really good friend. Someone I can't just see me asking any of them out suddenly, or them asking me out. Plus, you're all famous, I'm already avoiding being known by my brothers. I'm sure if I started dating a band member, that would get out quicker. Or they wouldn't even bother keeping it a secret, which would send Vic on a rampage of destruction and all these fan-girls would stalk me to see if I'm worthy then find out about the secret 'Fuentes Sister.'”
“I think you worry about this too much.” I chuckled, which earned me a dirty look.
“You remember what happened in high school...” She mumbled.
“Yeah, I do, but it's not always going to be like that.”
“So far it has been...” She mumbled.
“Trust me, Mick. Yeah, being well know has it's disadvantages when it comes to being social, but there's a lot of perks too. Plus, there will be some people who love you, just you, and not your fame. Or in your case, your brother's fame. Like Lexi does.”
“Hmm, maybe...”

We both dropped the subject, and started talking more about the better times of her school year, and I shared some stories of our last tour. However, everything she said was in the back if my head. I really wish she didn't think that way, because this summer, was going to be different then all the ones.
