When Miles Break Hearts

Fond Memories

JULIE'S POV

Cosying up on the couch, I pulled out my phone as I waited for Game Of Thrones to begin.

Friend Request: Antonio Perry
Hey, excuse the name... Need to make sure fans don't try and add me on my private account.

Without accepting the friend request (purely because Tom would see it), I messaged him back.

I should feel privileged, I'm the only fan who gets to know you're secret Facebook!

Within seconds, he replied.

Very funny. Are you *gasps* denying my request?

I can't add you, Tom will see.

Oh, okay.

I let my fingers dance over the keyboard for a few seconds before deciding to leave it at that. If I tried to prolong the conversation he might get the wrong idea or I might falling into the hole I'd been tredding so cautiously to avoid.

Glancing up at the TV, I noticed the show beginning. Grabbing the remote from the coffee table, I turned it up, the theme tune filling the candlelit livingroom. I watched intently as the characters I'd grown emotions for lived their fictional, dramatic lives. My phone buzzed around 15 minutes later, interrupting a quiet scene between to important characters.

Antonio Perry messaged you!
07745684367. You don't have to, but it would be nice.

Sighing deeply, I copied the number into my contacts. I could feel the guilt building up inside me already, but I pushed it aside and remembered how long Tony had been there for me. I owed him this at least. I also, to be honest, missed him like crazy.

To: Tony
Hope you're still a formal texter, Mr Perry.

From: Tony
Sadly, I am.

Smiling, I tossed the phone aside as the guilt began to eat my insides. Running my hair through my finger, I tried to wipe the large grin off my face. You have a wonderful boyfriend, Julie. Tom is lovely to you. I told myself that Tom loved me (although neither of us had said it) and my mind began to wander. Soon, I found myself looking back on fond memories.

'See,' he said, pulling my arm around his waist as he folded the mixture over itself with the other hand, 'this gets more air in, makes them taste better.' He tapped the spoon off the bowl before taking the cases and placing them on a tray. Both arms around his waist, I watched on my tip toes as he filled each one half way with the mixture. 'There,' he said under his breathe. I stepped back and removed my arms from his body so he was able to slide the tray into the oven. Checking his watch, he mumbled something to himself before looking up at me and allowing a large grin to form on his handsome face.

'There's something I've been wanting to tell you,' he began, searching the floor for something. 'I know this isn't a romantic setting or whatever, but I think if you really do mean it then there's no need for some cheesy night out.' There was a terribly long pause. I stared at his face as he continued to look towards the floor, biting his lip. 'I just want you to know that,' clearing his throat, his eyes met mine. 'I love you.'

I couldn't breathe. He said it, he said he loved me. I felt completely weightless. I threw myself in his direction and he caught me, lifting me into the air. I wrapped my legs around his waist and he turned around, allowing me to rest my bum on the counter.

'I love you too,' I whispered against his lips.

Tilting his head to one side, he pressed his tender lips against mine and we kissed passionately. I never wanted that moment to end. I could feel his chest against mine, his fingers tangled in my hair, my arms around his body. If I could choose one moment to live again, it would be that one. It would always be that one.

Snapping out of my daydream, I focused my attention on the TV and tried to ignore the calls of my heart. I couldn't bare to let Tony go again, it hurt far too much the first time.

'Babe,' exclaimed Tom as he entered the apartment, 'I've got someone you need to meet!'

Standing up from the couch to greet our mystery guest, I turned to see Jaime stepping out from behind Tom. His smile lit up and he rushed towards me, 'Jewls! How've you been? Boo, I've fucking missed you!' Shaking me like a rag doll, I laughed as Jaime shouted into my hair. Suddenly, what he had said registered. I pulled away to see a look of severe confusion on Tom's face.

'Tom, me and Jaime were high school best friends. He's the only one of Pierce The Veil I know. How did you fin-'

'Tony told me about Tom mentioning you, thinking that it was, uh, maybe you. I'm so happy it is, would've been awfully awkward otherwise...'

Punching my old friend on the shoulder, I smiled and pulled him in for another hug. I was so thankful he caught on to the lie and followed my lead.

'You know what,' he continued, 'we should all have a dinner night. Me, you, Tom and the band! You need to meet the rest of them, you really do.'

'That sounds great,' agreed Tom, looking terribly enthusiastic (the worst part was, it seemed to be genuine).
