Bury The Taste

Comfortable

The next morning Ainsley and Jaime woke up right around the same time. In their sleep, their bodies had somehow found each other and their limbs had intertwined – forcing them to wake up wrapped up in each other’s bodies. The sun blared through the blinds, acting as a natural alarm clock for the two.

“I’m comfortable,” Ainsley admitted as she refused to move any part of her body that had instinctively created such an intricate puzzle with Jaime’s. “But it’s hot.”

“You’re hot,” Jaime laughed a little bit and Ainsley couldn’t help but blush. A part of her wanted Jaime to kiss her good morning, but she knew that it wasn’t going to happen.

Her phone began to vibrate from her nightstand, as usual. Ainsley knew that it was Malorie calling. She called her every morning. Well, she called her all the time in general.

“Hello?” Ainsley answered.

Jaime slowly began to pull his arms free from their position around Ainsley’s body, but he left their legs mixed together and their bodies pressed tightly against one another.

“Ains, get dressed quickly. Jaime, too. Casey and I will be there in an hour.”

“Mal, what on Earth are you – “

“Don’t question it, Ainsley. Just get ready. I’m serious. I’m hanging up now! Bye!”

The line went dead and Ainsley groaned as she dropped her phone back onto her nightstand. She let out a small whimper of frustration. It was happening – Malorie and Casey were forcing Jaime and Ainsley to go out with them…just like a double date like Ainsley feared. Which also meant that Casey knew about Jaime spending the night, which meant Casey knew about them sleeping together.

“What was that about?” Jaime asked with a slight yawn.

“Casey and Malorie are going to be here in an hour to pick us up,” Ainsley explained. “They’re taking us out.”

“Oh,” Jaime said softly. “So, Malorie knows about this?” Jaime motioned between them.

Ainsley felt bad for admitting that she had accidentally let Mal find out about their hooking up, but then again, they never really verbally agreed that it would be kept a secret, so she wasn’t exactly in the wrong. But based off of the circumstances and the way it all came to be, it just seemed to be something that would be kept a secret.

“Casey knows, too,” Jaime said quietly. “He uh…found out from me.”

Ainsley felt extremely relieved that she wasn’t the only one who had let their affair be known – but she couldn’t help but feel slightly irritated at the fact that now two people knew about what they were doing. Two very persistent people, at that. Two people that are not afraid of confrontation and are not affected by awkward situations. Therefore, a double date set-up was to be expected.

“I guess we brought this on ourselves, then,” Ainsley laughed.

“I guess so,” Jaime agreed. “So, I really need to shower…if that’s okay…”

“No, Jaime, you’re not allowed to shower,” Ainsley said sarcastically. “Of course you take a shower you dweeb.”

Jaime gave her a look with his dimply smile and furrowed eyebrows. “Did you just call me a dweeb?”

“Yes, I did,” Ainsley chuckled.

Jaime shook his head and slowly pulled apart from her. Their skin was somewhat stuck together from the heat of the sun and the stick of their sweat, leaving slight sticking sounds crackling in the room as they pulled away from their woven sleeping structure.

“We can shower together if you want,” Jaime suggested with hopeful eyes and a wide smile.

“Tempting,” Ainsley laughed. “But I need to start a load of laundry so it’s done by the time we go.”

“You have plenty of clean clothes,” Jaime pouted as he looked to her open closet that had clearly reached its maximum capacity.

“I’m pretty sure I know where we’re going, and if that’s the case then I’m going to need to wash my shorts because it’s too hot for pants, and it’ll be too much walking for a skirt.”

“Girls,” Jaime chuckled as he rolled his eyes and headed over to the bathroom.

“Towels are in the cabinet in there. Here, give me your clothes and I’ll wash them for you,” Ainsley said. She stood by the open door to wait for Jaime’s clothes. Jaime grew somewhat awkward as he pulled his shirt off and tossed it over to her. He hesitated for a moment before pulling down his boxers and handing them to her as well.

Ainsley could understand why he felt strange. She was staring at him as he slowly stripped. She couldn’t help but stare over Jaime’s body. He was fit, but was slightly pudgy around the stomach. His body was nice – Ainsley liked to look at the way his one sleeve of tattoos cut off at his shoulder and how his skin was naturally tanned to a certain extent. She wanted to say something to alleviate the awkward tension growing in the bathroom as she stared at him, but she just didn’t know what to say.

Jaime decided to break the tension by taking a step forward and grabbing her face in his hands. He studied her face for a moment before placing his lips onto hers in a tender fashion. Ainsley let out a sigh into the kiss as her shoulders relaxed and she nearly dropped Jaime’s clothes from her hands. Jaime had this effect on her body that just put her under this spell. This spell that made her want him to touch her over and over again and never stop.

“So about that shower,” Jaime said as he pulled away from her lips.

“So fucking tempting,” Ainsley said against his lips as she moved in for more. They kissed just a bit longer before she forced herself to pull away. “I need to start laundry.”

Ainsley walked away and tossed Jaime’s clothes into the washing machine along with her most comfortable pair of high-waisted shorts and a few other articles of clothing before setting it for a quick, 15 minute wash.

She tip-toed back to the bathroom where Jaime was in the shower with the door left wide open to lure her back in. She stripped off her clothes and climbed into the shower behind him. He turned around quickly and without any hesitation he picked her up and smashed their bodies together under the water. He pushed her up against the wall and connected his lips to hers.

Ainsley was right about having an idea as to where Malorie and Casey were taking them. There’s no better place to try and set up a double date than the happiest place on Earth – at least that’s what Malorie had whispered to Ainsley as she walked toward the car.

Jaime and Ainsley sat in the backseat of Casey’s SUV while Casey drove and Malorie sat in the passenger’s seat. As soon as they were buckled and made their way down the freeway, Casey spoke up. “So you two are fucking, now, huh?” he asked while trying to catch eye contact with either of the two from the rearview mirror.

Malorie continued to stare out of the passenger’s window as her left hand held onto Casey’s hand over the gear-shift. Ainsley stared at their hands and then looked over to Jaime’s hand that was resting lazily beside his right leg. She couldn’t imagine holding Jaime’s hand like that. The only way she knew his hands were while they were trailing up and down her body.

“Fine, don’t answer,” Casey laughed as he gently squeezed Malorie’s hand. Malorie looked over to him to give him a big smile and then look back out the window.

Ainsley couldn’t stop her staring. She watched Malorie and Casey as they showed their affection toward each other without it being too much for anybody else present.

Jaime stared out the window and watched the cars passing by on the opposite side of the freeway. Ainsley felt weird sitting in the backseat of a car with him. They had never been on a group outing together like this. Sure, she had been to a couple of barbeques where he was present, but they had just barely met four months ago at Mike’s birthday party. They hadn’t even seen each other until Jaime had texted her two weeks ago. And they had already had sex more times than Ainsley had with her last serious boyfriend.

She looked over to Jaime to see that Jaime was looking right back at her. His cheeks turned pink and he gave her his dimply smile when he realized he had been caught staring. He gently reached over and gave her thigh a gentle squeeze as if to tell her that she didn’t need to worry about the day and about feeling awkward.

But as they all went through the line and checked into the park with their annual passes, Casey and Malorie had their hands tangled and walked just a little bit ahead of Jaime and Ainsley, forcing them to be paired off, and forcing the situation too soon.

-

“I want to go on the tea cups!” Malorie said as the group walked around the park. “Please, Casey, can we go on the tea cups?” She gave Casey her best puppy dog eyes, even though they weren’t too visible through her large sunglasses.

“Of course,” he smiled at her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. “You guys coming?”

“I’m actually pretty hungry,” Jaime said. “How about you?” He looked over to Ainsley and her stomach let out a rumble that nobody could hear, but she could feel.

“Yeah, I’m hungry.”

“Okay, you guys go eat! We’ll catch up later!” Malorie was overly excited at the fact that Jaime and Ainsley were finally going to spend some time together alone. She began to walk off but turned to wiggled her eyebrows at Ainsley a bit.

Jaime noticed Mal’s expression and let out a small laugh.

“So awkward,” Ainsley muttered. “I’m so sorry this is happening.”

“It’s cool,” Jaime shrugged with a smile. “So where do you want to eat?”

“It really doesn’t matter to me,” she said as they began to walk toward the center of the park to try and find somewhere to eat.

They ended up wandering right into a Mexican food café that wasn’t too over-priced. Ainsley ordered the cheese enchiladas with an extra side of beans and tortillas while Jaime ordered their large taco salad.

“Too bad they don’t serve beer,” Jaime pouted as he looked at the park map that was once folded up in his pocket. “Mexican food and beer is the best combo.”

“I want a Blue Moon,” Ainsley pouted as she thought about the taste of a nice, cold beer.

“Do you work tomorrow?” Jaime asked suddenly.

“Yeah, but not until late. Why?” she asked as she set down her cell phone to look at Jaime with a confused expression.

He just shrugged. “I was wondering if maybe you would want to…like, I don’t know,” he chuckled a little bit before awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck with his left hand while his right hand still held onto the park map. He kept his gaze on the map. “I was thinking that maybe you could come to my place tonight, back in San Diego. I’ll drive you there and then take you back in the morning whenever you need to leave. We could have some beers and maybe hang out with the guys. I know they miss you a lot.”

Ainsley smiled to herself as Jaime tried to cover up his invite as an excuse for her to see the rest of the band. “I’ll think about it,” she replied as she bit back a small smile. The idea of spending the night at Jaime’s house made her nervous. That would be two nights in a row that they would have spent the night together. And Ainsley kind of wanted to go, even though she was beyond nervous and the thought of being at Jaime’s house made her feel kind of awkward. She wanted to spend the night with him. Not just for the sex, but because she enjoyed the company. She was sick of being lonely, and the feeling of sharing a bed with someone gave her the comfort she wanted.

“Won’t the guys wonder why I’m spending the night at your house though? Instead of with Vic and Mike? Or even Mal?”

Jaime shrugged. “We’ll just tell them it’s because I have a spare bedroom,” he suggested.

Ainsley wanted to ask if she would have to actually sleep in the spare bedroom, but before she could open her mouth their food showed up and her mouth was full of saliva at the smell. As soon as the plates were in front of them, they each dug in.

“I swear, you eat beans like a Mexican,” Jaime laughed as he watched Ainsley pair every bite of her enchiladas with a scoop of beans.

“Beans are delicious,” she replied after taking a sip of her cola.

Jaime chuckled as he finished his last bite of his taco salad and took a sip of his iced tea. He reached for the check at the end of the table and placed his credit card inside before setting it back down on the corner.

Ainsley watched him do this and suddenly felt over-whelmed. He wanted to pay for her food. But that only happened on dates, right? Or with a really close friend? And they weren’t really close friends…so that had to mean that this was a date.

“I’ll pay you back…?” Ainsley suggested as she looked at Jaime with a cocked eyebrow.

“No,” Jaime said simply.

“But,” Ainsley pouted, “Disneyland food is expensive.”

“Nothing I can’t afford,” Jaime said with a cocky smile.

“Musicians,” she rolled her eyes as she looked down at the straw in her soda.

After Jaime got his card back, they headed back out into the heat and called Casey to see where they were. He told them they were going to head to Space Mountain after they took some pictures with the characters walking around and that he would wait for them by the line so they could all go on together.

As Jaime and Ainsley walked, they just looked around and enjoyed the atmosphere. It was pretty crowded since it was the summer-time, but it wasn’t anything too bad. Jaime stopped walking, but Ainsley continued to walk, and after two steps, she was jerked back. She looked down to see that Jaime’s fingers were intertwined with her own, and she hadn’t even realized that they had been walking like that. Holding hands. It felt natural to her. Jaime pulled her back over and pointed to a store where there were hats and Mickey ears and traditional shirts with Mickey mouse and Minnie mouse on them.

“I want a shirt,” Jaime said as he pulled Ainsley into the shop.

As soon as they entered, Ainsley saw a pair of sequined mouse ears with a red bow in the center. “Oh my gosh!” she exclaimed as she neared the ears. “I have to have these.”

Jaime let go of her hand and reached up to grab the ears off of the rack they were hanging on. He went over to Ainsley and gently placed the ears onto her head, pushing back all of her wavy hair in the process.

“Ew, why’d you do it like that?” she whined when she could feel the headband pulling all of her hair away from her face.

“You look adorable,” Jaime smiled widely and studied her face. “I like it when your hair isn’t in your face. You have really nice skin,” he smiled a little bit and gently brushed her cheek with his thumb. Ainsley’s heart began to race and for a moment she wanted Jaime to kiss her.

He pulled his hand away and looked down with a large smile. Ainsley blushed as her own thoughts of kissing Jaime and turned back to look at the rack.

“Here!” she said happily as she picked up a pair of plain black mouse ears that felt like velvet. She reached up and pushed the ears onto his head, just over his beanie. She gave him a big smile and let out a laugh as he gave her a hideous pout.

“Where’s a mirror?” Jaime asked. “I probably look stupid.”

“No,” Ainsley laughed. “Over here,” she pointed toward a full-body mirror that was up against the wall in the corner of the store.

They walked up to it and stood in front of the mirror. Ainsley’s hair didn’t look too bad, but they did look a bit ridiculous. The ears didn’t sit quite right on Jaime’s head because of his beanie and Ainsley’s ears were leaning forward because of the tension of her hair pulling on the headband. “We’re hot,” Jaime laughed as he pulled out his phone.

“What are you doing?” Ainsley asked as he opened up his camera. She knew exactly what he was doing, but felt kind of weird about it. Were they really close enough to be taking pictures together like that?

“Taking a picture, duh,” Jaime laughed. “Come here,” he said as he wrapped his arm around Ainsley’s shoulders and pulled her into his side.

Jaime pouted dramatically and Ainsley held her hands out to her sides with her elbows bent and her shoulders raised as if she was in the middle of a shrug that said I have no idea what’s going on. She raised her eyebrows dramatically and put her lips into a tight, goofy pout. Jaime left his arm around her shoulders, forcing her to lean toward him as he snapped the picture.

“This has got to be the greatest picture of all time,” Jaime laughed. “Do you have an instagram?” he asked.

Ainsley furrowed her eyebrows. “Yeah, but I don’t really use it. Why?”

“So I can tag you, duh,” Jaime laughed as he opened up the app. “What is it?”

“Don’t laugh at me,” Ainsley said softly. “It’s ainsakin.”

“Oh my goodness,” Jaime shook his head. “Like Anakin Skywaler, but Ainsakin?”

“I told you not to laugh at me,” Ainsley said with an embarrassed smile.

“It’s funny! I’m surprised you’re not friends with Tony. He’s a huge Star Wars nerd.”

“I noticed from his knuckles,” Ainsley laughed as watched as Jaime went to her instagram account. He clicked follow and then uploaded the picture to instagram and tagged Ainsley in it.

The second the photo was uploaded, Ainsley’s pocket began to vibrate vigorously. She pulled her phone out, expecting it to be a phone call but instead looked down to see a huge list of notifications from Instagram. All new followers. “Uhh…” Ainsley said, unsure of what to do with her phone that continued to vibrate in her hand.

“Oh,” Jaime gave a guilty look. “Yeah, you should probably turn off your instagram notifications. The fans…they…they like to be in our lives as much as possible. I didn’t really think about that, sorry.”

“Oh, it’s okay. I just…can you do it? I don’t know how.” Ainsley handed Jaime her phone and he quickly went into her phone and turned off her alerts from instagram. Some banners were still popping up at the top of her screen so her phone could catch up with the amount of followers that were triggered before he had changed the settings. “Holy shit,” Ainsley laughed.

“You’re probably going to be getting a lot more. Do you have any pictures with Vic and Mike?”

“Probably a few. I don’t know, I haven’t used the app in months.”

“Okay, they aren’t going to leave you alone now. I’m so sorry,” Jaime apologized over and over again.

He continued to apologize about it even as they walked up to the register to purchase the headbands that were on their heads. Jaime immediately shoved his credit card forward before Ainsley could pull out her own.

“God dammit, Jaime. Stop paying for me,” she pushed him slightly, but still with an appreciative smile. “Disneyland is expensive and now I feel like I owe you.”

“It’s okay,” Jaime smiled widely, and as the cashier turned away for a moment, he bent down so his lips were beside her ear. “You can make it up to me later,” he said as he placed his hand on the small of her back.

Ainsley’s body shivered at the feeling of his breath against her ear. And the worst sent excitement coursing through her body. That’s when she decided that maybe she would, in fact, go back to San Diego with Jaime. I’m not only going for the sex, she told herself, my friends miss me. And I miss them. But deep down, she knew it was mostly for the sex.

“You know,” she said once they had started walking toward Space Mountain again, “I think I’ll spend the night. To see the guys.”

Jaime tried to bite back his smile, but couldn’t hide the dimples that gave away his excitement. Ainsley rolled her eyes as they approached the line to the ride and saw Malorie and Casey standing right by the entrance.

“Finally!” Casey yelled once he saw them coming into view.

“Jeez, what took you so long? Did you guys fuck or something?” Malorie shouted, a bit too loudly.

“Malorie!” Ainsley exclaimed. “Lower your voice, we’re at Disneyland for goodness sakes.”

Malorie rolled her eyes.

“And yes, if you most know, we were fucking in one of the Toon Town houses,” Ainsley replied with a smile.

“Seriously?!” Casey’s eyes went wide.

“No,” Ainsley said loudly. “What the heck,” she said as she started to laugh at how shocked Mal and Casey looked.

“You’re stupid!” Malorie laughed and pushed Ainsley just a bit before turning toward the entrance. “Let’s go! I’ve been dying to ride this already!”

Casey followed after her as they entered the line and followed up the path to where the rest of the people were waiting. Once they entered the line, Malorie immediately sat up on the railing. Ainsley did the same thing but across from Malorie. Mal reached her foot out and nudged Ainsley’s knee to get her attention while the boys were chatting.

“How’s it going?” she mouthed.

Ainsley rolled her eyes and flipped her off. “You’re a bitch,” she replied softly with a smile. Malorie gave her a knowing smile. She knew that Ainsley and Jaime were having a good time, she could see it all over their faces.

Jaime walked over to Ainsley and pretended to push her by grabbing onto her shoulders and jerking her back a bit. He held onto her as she shrieked.

“You asshole!” she said a bit loudly as Jaime pulled her back so she was sitting up straight. Ainsley grabbed onto the railing on the sides of her legs and Jaime wedge his way in between her legs so he could gently lean on Ainsley. He reached around and gently held onto her legs so neither of them would fall.

Ainsley’s hands reached up to adjust her Minnie mouse ears after Jaime jerked her back. “How are my ears?” she asked.

Jaime turned a bit and bent backwards so he could see. “They’re good. How are mine?”

Ainsley gently adjusted his ears so they were in the perfect position. “Perect,” she smiled as Jaime bent backwards to look at her again.

Jaime craned his head back even more and waved his hand forward to try and tell Ainsley to lean down. She bent down so Jaime could say something in her ear.

“You’re adorable,” he whispered before slyly kissing her jaw just beside her ear.

Ainsley laughed and went back to sitting straight up, only to have Jaime motion her back down again.

“What?” she asked with a laugh.

“So about that Toon Town house…”

Ainsley pulled away right away and pushed Jaime just a bit. The line began to move and Ainsley jumped down from the railing.

“What?” Jaime asked with a smile. “I’m serious.”

“I know you are,” Ainsley laughed. “It’s not happening.”

Jaime laughed and once they had entered the building where all of the boarding happened, Jaime spoke up, but to the entire group this time.

“So how does Toon Town sound after this?” he said with a large smile.

Malorie and Casey caught on to what he was trying to say and started to laugh. Ainsley couldn’t help but laugh along with them and push Jaime away from her again.

“What? You’re the one who put the idea in my head!” Jaime said as they climbed onto the ride.

“Mal, why don’t we fuck in public places anymore?” Casey asked with a pout as the ride moved them forward just a bit.

“We can go to Toon Town, Case, don’t worry,” Malorie placed a big kiss on his lips and turned around to look at Ainsley and Jaime who were sitting behind them. “Thanks for the idea, Ains.”

“Great! Now we need to find a new place!” Jaime exclaimed as he threw his hands into the air.

“Yeah, how about your house,” Ainsley said.

“Wait,” Malorie turned around quickly. “You’re coming back to SD tonight?”

Ainsley nodded with a blush that was hidden by the darkness of the ride. “Yeah,” she answered.

Malorie was about to ask more questions, but stopped once the ride picked up and nothing could be seen except for the twinkling lights of the ride. Jaime’s hand clutched onto Ainsley’s thigh as the ride went faster. Ainsley put her hand on top of his and grabbed it.

The darkness hid the smile that was plastered across both of their faces.

Incredible story!!! Actually reread it right after I finished.
Please update again soon!

This story is so amazing. I love your writing and creativity with the characters. Ainsley is so relatable as a person, I love her relationship with Jaime and friendship with mal and the guys.

It's cool that she has such a motherly instinct even with her family or lack thereof. I wonder what was bothering Jaime and if we'll ever find out what happened that night with Bret.

Thanks so much for the story!!
