Chapter Twenty-Six

Mikey’s POV

“How much longer until we absolutely have to get out?” Skylar whined, playing with our hands in the soapy water of the tub. My back was up against the white tiles of the shower space while her back was against my chest and we soaked in the warm, bubbly water. I smirked and kissed her head before grabbing my phone off of the floor next to the tub to check the time.

I saw it was fifteen minutes until five and sighed. “Right now.”

She sighed and I chuckled. “Come on, get out.” She groaned and grabbed the edge of the tub, steadying herself as she climbed out. The water and a few bubbles clung to her naked body, making her look even more appealing than usual. She smirked and slid on my bathrobe before holding her hands out to help me out. I wrapped my favorite shark towel around my waist and pulled the plug from the drain. She shooed me out of the bathroom so she could clean up. I gave Trixie a pat on the head as I walked into my room. I went to my closet and grabbed some clothes. I changed into a pair of black jeans and a PVRIS sweatshirt. I threw the towel into the hamper and decided to go downstairs to wait for the guys.

“Damn, you already changed? I was hoping you’d wait for me so I could watch,” Sky frowned as she walked out of the bathroom dressed in some sweats and one of my old shirts.

“You look good in that shirt,” I smirked and grabbed her hand, leading her down the steps. I sat down and pulled her into my lap, wrapping my arms around her. “What do you want to do until they get here?” She replied by straddling me and connecting our lips. I grinned into the kiss and cupped her cheek with my hands. Our tongues engaged in a delicate dance for dominance as she pulled on my hair. God, I love when she does that. I ran one of my hands down her spine, tracing circles as I went. It found its destination on her butt, squeezing gently. She rocked her hips against mine, making me groan. I could already feel myself getting worked up, despite the fact that I tried to remind myself that it wouldn’t lead anywhere thanks to Mother Nature.

A few minutes later the doorbell rang and we breathlessly pulled apart. “I need to um, go calm down,” I flushed. She smirked and climbed off of me, allowing me to hastily walk up to the bathroom. I leant against the sink and took a few deep breaths, thinking of anything except how I wanted nothing more to make love to her. I heard her open the door and there was a loud squeal and some laughter that I recognized as Dave and James. I grinned as their voices travelled throughout the flat. I waited several more seconds before my body decided to calm down enough that I could exit. I bounded down the stairs and laughed at Sky who was encased in a group hug.

“My bones are breaking,” she wheezed.

I laughed and tapped Dave on the shoulder. “Maybe you ought to let her go, mate.”

“We missed you!” James squealed and hugged her tighter before releasing her, encouraging Dave to do the same. She laughed and patted him on the shoulder.

“I missed you guys, too.”

“More than Mikey? It’s okay, I know it’s true,” Dave chimed in, making me roll my eyes.

“Where’s the food?” James asked and peered into the kitchen.

Joe’s usual knock filtered through the air, making me chuckle. “It’s just arrived.” I opened the door to see Savins, Sam, and Lucy who had recently became Sam’s girlfriend. “Hey, everyone.” Sam pushed three pizza boxes into my hands and shoved past me.

“There she is,” he smiled and wrapped his arms around Sky. Lucy and Joe entered and I shut the door behind them. Lucy glanced at Sam and Sky, still laughing and twirling around in their reunion. She narrowed her eyes at them and then glanced at me. I raised my eyebrows in confusion but shook it off. I walked past them to the living room and set the pizza down.

“Oi, we missed you,” Joe said and swallowed her in his arms as soon as Sam let go. Sam grinned at them and then said his greetings to everyone else. James went into the kitchen to grab plates and napkins and Dave assisted him with the drinks.

“Sky, this is my girlfriend Lucy,” Sam introduced them once she broke free of Joe’s embrace. She smiled and extended her hand.

Lucy plastered a fake smile on her face. “Nice to meet you.”

“You too. Sam, I didn’t know you had a girlfriend,” Sky elbowed him in the ribs, making him blush. He shrugged and Lucy glared at Sky again.

“I was gonna tell you,” he defended and shoved his hands in his pockets.

“I guess you forgot to bring it up since you were so busy getting your ass kicked in Call of Duty,” she lightly shoved him.

“Oh, fuck off! I beat you more times than not.”

“Whatever you say, Sammy boy,” she grinned and came over to me. The boys entered and handed out plates to everyone as we all started to situate ourselves on the furniture around the room.

“What movies are we watching?” Joe asked as he slapped a piece of pepperoni pizza onto his plate.

“Bad Seed first!” Sky yelled and clapped her hands together as I slid the DVD into the player. I grinned at how incredibly cute she is when she is excited.

“What’s that?” James asked while he poured himself, Dave, and Sky some Jack Daniel’s.

“It’s a really good movie,” she said. “It’s about this guy who finds out his wife is cheating on him. Then, she’s murdered and he seeks revenge. Plus, it has Norman Reedus in it.”

“Oh, so you’re one of those girls that thinks he’s really hot? That’s kind of basic, don’t you think?” Lucy chimed in. I turned away from the television to stare at her with my mouth agape. Tense silence fell over the room as Sam looked at Lucy confused, along with everyone else. Sky looked hurt, which made anger flood over me.

“I think he’s top notch,” Dave said finally, breaking the silence. “He plays Daryl really well.”

Skylar slowly averted her gaze from Lucy’s, nodding silently. James and Joe started chatting to ease the tension, while Sam continued to stare at Lucy who pretended she didn’t notice. I glared at the side of her head before returning my attention to the screen, getting the movie queued up. Once the opening credits filled the screen I sat down next to Sky and James. I nudged her with my knee and mouthed ‘are you okay’ to her. She nodded and handed me a plate full of pizza. I wrapped my arm around her and pressed my lips in her hair as the movie started.

Soon we were all engrossed in the movie. Right from the get go, it hooked me. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Sky sitting forward and eating the last piece of her pizza, squishing tomato sauce onto the edge of her perfectly pink lips. I smirked and connected my lips to the spot, getting the sauce on my lips instead. She turned to me as I licked the sauce off of my lips slowly. I gave her a wink and she blushed looking back to the screen as Jonathan shot the window out of Preston’s car. Sam had noticed our little encounter and rolled his eyes. I smirked and shoved the rest of my crust into my mouth.

As the movie progressed, Sky gradually got closer to me until she was practically on my lap and my hand rested on her thigh. Every now and again I’d slide my hand up further until she blushed and then retract my hand. I studied her face as the glow of the television flickered across it, accentuating her natural beauty. “Aw, this part is so sad,” she whispered to me and looked away from the screen. I looked up to see that Norman Reedus’s character was in the process of killing himself. I watched as he set himself on fire and frowned.

The screen went black and it was silent for a few seconds before Dave exclaimed, “That was bloody great!”

“That was such a great twist,” Joe commented and leant back into the chair he was sitting in. Sky perked up, proud of her movie choice. She turned to me and raised her eyebrows in question.

“I liked it,” I commented. She looked over to James and Sam.
“Yeah, it was good.”

“I really liked it, good choice, Sky,” Sam nodded.

Lucy shrugged and scrolled through her phone. “It was okay.” Sam glared at her again and I grit my teeth.

“It was a good movie,” I said. She shrugged again and I rolled my eyes.

“What’s next, then?” James asked.

“Either Assault on Wall Street or Paranormal Activity,” I stated, looking over at Sky to make sure she was holding up after Lucy’s second attack. She was taking a silly picture with Dave, much to my relief.

“I think we should watch Schindler’s List,” she smirked at me.

I rolled my eyes. “I don’t think anyone wants to see me cry.”

“Says you,” Joe grinned.

I smiled and shook my head, making him laugh. “What does everyone want to watch?”

“Paranormal Activity,” Sky, James, Joe, and Dave all said at the same time while Sam said, “Assault on Wall Street.” Everyone laughed and Sam blushed. I attempted to get up to put in the DVD, but Sky refused to move.

“I’ll put it in,” James rolled his eyes.

“Thanks, mate,” I grinned as he crossed the room. He placed the movie in and then turned. “Anyone want more liquor?” Sky raised her cup and Sam asked for more. He left the room and returned as the opening scene illuminated the room, pouring them all a sizeable amount. Sky thanked him and look a large gulp before turning to me, silently asking if I wanted any. I shrugged and took it from her, letting the liquid burn my throat. As the first jump scare popped out, Sky squeaked and threw her face into my arm. I smiled and hugged her closer. Throughout the movie Dave jumped with each scary moment, along with Joe a few times.

The final scene rolled across the screen and James turned to Sky. “A little jumpy there, eh?” She stuck her tongue out at him and I laughed. I glanced at the clock on the table and saw it was about nine.

“Shall we watch another or…?” I trailed off, leaving the night’s activities up for debate.

“I don’t care, but I want to take some shots,” Sam said. I agreed and stood up to go to the kitchen. I walked to the cupboard and dug at the back for some glasses. I heard something behind me and turned to see Lucy.

“What?” I asked, turning back to get the last few glasses.

“Are you really that blind that you can’t see it?” she questioned.

“What?”

“Sam and Skylar! They’re a little too flirty for my liking. I think there is something going on between them.”

I scoffed. “Yeah, they’re so flirty,” I replied sarcastically and went to side step around her. She stepped in front of me.

“They’re hooking up! Trust me!”

“I know her and I know him. Neither of them would do that. Maybe you have some insecurities you need to work out or maybe you have trust issues you need to address with Sam. But as for my relationship…there’s mutual trust and respect. I suggest you keep your accusations to yourself and leave my relationship out of it.” I side stepped her successfully this time and returned to the living room where Sky beamed at me and made my heart skip a beat.

“Who’s doing shots then?” Sam asked as I handed him the glasses. “Sky? Don’t wuss out on me now.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it,” she grinned as Lucy returned and huffed when she sat next to Sam.

“To Sky being here,” Sam exclaimed and held his glass up. He, James, and Sky all clinked their glasses together and then threw their heads back. I popped the last movie in the player and took my seat next to her as she and Sam took another shot.

“Don’t overdo it, honey,” Lucy set her hands on his bicep.

“I’m good,” Sam told her and poured another.

“This movie better be good,” Dave said and began eating another piece of pizza.

“It will be. It’s fucking awesome,” Sam defended.

“It is pretty good,” Sky agreed and rested her head on my shoulder. Lucy stared at us and then sank further into her cushion. I rolled my eyes and focused on the screen as the movie started.
