Don't Make This Easy

Chapter Four

After performing with Jenna, which was surprisingly fun despite my lack of experience and hatred of being in front of crowds, I went back to her us with her and the guys do have a few drinks before we got back on the road.

“So what's with you and Gaskarth? What's the history there” Jake asked. I rolled my eyes and took a big sip of my beer.

“We dated for like four years in high school, I moved to San Diego, went back to Baltimore to surprise him and caught him fucking someone else.” I explained as I swirled the beer around in its bottle.

“Ouch.” He said, cringing a bit.

“Is that why you went lesbian?” Whak laughed.

“I'm not a lesbian.” I said, laughing and shaking my head. “I just haven't dated a guy recently.”

“And by recently you mean in almost five years.” Jenna laughed. “Face it Jacie, you're basically a full blown lesbian.”

“I'm not though.” I laughed.

“So you'd actually date a guy again?” Jake asked. I shrugged and sipped my beer.

“I mean as long as he's not a douchebag, yeah.”

“You ever hook up with any of your guys?” Cam asked. I choked on my drink and shook my head.

“God no.” I said.

“I could see you hooking up with Tony.” Jenna said. The guys all agreed and I just raised an eyebrow at her.

“Uh, why?” I asked. She just shrugged.

“I don't know, you guys just seem like you'd be good together.” She said. “You have a cute friendship, you'd make a cute couple too.”

“Yeah that's not happening.” I Laughed. “He's my friend, and only my friend.”

“I give it a year before you guys are together.” Jake said.

“I'll put money on that.” Whak chimed in. I just laughed and shook my head.

“Have fun with that. Vic and Jaime have been saying that for five years now.” I said.

“We've been saying what for five years?” Vic said, he and Jaime suddenly appearing out of nowhere.

“That her and Tony are gonna end up together.” Jenna said, smiling up at Vic.

“Oh yeah. It's gonna happen eventually.” Jaime said.

“No it's not.” I said in a sing-song voice.

“Whatever you say, Jacie Rae.” Vic laughed.

“Wait, Jacie Rae?” Jake said.

“Uh, yeah. That's my name.” I laughed.

“See, if I had known that I wouldn't have even had to ask about you and Gaskarth. He wrote a damn song about you.” He said, finally putting two and two together. I sighed and rolled my eyes.

“Yeah we don't talk about that song.” I said.

“What, the song that's not so subtly about you and him doing the dirty?” Jaime laughed. I glared at him and tossed my bottle cap at him, hitting him in the chest. “What, it's true!”

“You can go away now.” I told him.

“No I can't, we've come to steal you back to the bus so the Australians can't steal you from us again.” He said.

“I don't know, I think I like the Australians better than the Mexicans right now.” I said with a cheeky smile.

“Those are fightin words little Irish girl.” Jaime said, holding his fists up, pretending he was ready to fight. I just laughed and shook my head as I got up.

“How much sugar did you give him today?” I asked Vic.

“None, which is already too much.” He laughed. “We’ll see you guys later.”

Jenna and the guys said goodbye, as did Jaime and I, then we headed back to the bus so we could get back on the road. When we got back to the bus, Mike and Tony were using my laptop. I stood in front of them, my hands on my hips and an eyebrow raised.

“Whatcha guys doing?” I asked.

“Looking at your pictures.” Tony said.

“I haven't edited them yet.” I whined.

“So?” He laughed.

I rolled my eyes and sat down on the couch next to him, resting my chin on his shoulder, watching as Mike clicked through the pictures I had taken over the past couple days. There were a few mixed in that Vic had taken too, since he likes to steal my camera from me.

I hadn't realized it until now, but I guess Vic had taken my camera and got some pictures of me and Jenna on stage earlier too, which I was kinda thankful for. It was nice to have someone around who would make sure I had memories to look back on. Sometimes being a photographer, you're so busy capturing memories for everyone else that you forget to capture them for yourself.

“Dude, people are going nuts over you singing with Jenna earlier.” Mike laughed as he clicked through the pictures some more.

“Oh jeez.” I sighed. “How bad was it?” I asked. Mike laughed and shook his head.

“It wasn't bad, it was fucking awesome. You totally rocked.” He said. “On a not so awesome note though, literally everyone is talking about what happened earlier during the soccer game.”

“Oh great.” I sighed. “How bad?”

“On our side, not bad. Alex was totally out of line and everyone knows that.” He said and then sighed. “On the fan side of things, well, someone caught a partial video of you guys fighting and you slapping him, and you can't really hear much of what you guys were saying, so they're all pretty pissed and think you punched him for no reason.”

“Well, I'm getting kicked off the tour.” I sighed as I leaned back on the couch. Kevin, the guy who founded and runs Warped, had no tolerance for stuff like this. I was done for if there was a video floating around of what happened. Especially if it looked like it was my fault.

“No you're safe.” Vic said. “We all talked with him and explained what went down. It just can't happen again.”

“If he starts shit like that again, getting kicked off tour will be the least of my worries.” I said with a slight laugh. “I'll probably end up in jail or something.”

“Yeah let's try to not let that happen.” Tony laughed.

“But if it does, don't worry, we got a secret stash of bail money just for you.” Jaime said, winking at me.

“No you don't.” I laughed.

“Oh but we do.” Vic said.

“You guys really think you're gonna have to bail me out of jail one of these days?” I asked, still laughing.

“No, we know we are.” Mike said. “You're tiny, violent and full of rage. It's inevitable.”

“Alright, what are the bets you guys have going for me going to jail?” I asked, rolling my eyes.

“I got $50 saying public intoxication and disorderly conduct.” Tony said.

“Yeah that could go for you too, or any of us for that matter.” I told him.

“I got $75 saying you get in a bar fight after you dance on the tables again.” Mike laughed.

“$50 on murder.” Jaime said.

“$100 on aggravated assault toward one of your exes.” Vic said with a shrug.

“I'm offended that you guys would think I would do any of those things.” I said, putting my hand on my chest in mock hurt.

“Eh, you still love us.” Jaime said with a smile. I laughed and nodded.

“That is very true.”
