Misadventures (A Vic Fuentes Fanfiction)

It was early in the morning on a Saturday when I heard my phone ring. I ignored it for a couple of seconds, hoping whoever it was would stop calling me so I can go back to a blissful sleep. The phone kept ringing and ringing, thinking of how it might wake up Skye in the next room I sighed and reached out my arm to pick it up.

With my eyes still closed, I blindly answered the phone. "Hello...?" I said in a really groggy voice.

"Damn you sound horrible..." I shook my head knowing the all too familiar voice in my ear.

"I'm sorry Axe, but that happens to people when they're sleeping at 7 in the morning. Now there has to be a really good reason why you called and woke me from my slumber." I said checking the time. Damn is it really this early? I'm gonna kill him the next time I see him.

"Wow someone's very touchy this morning...actually I think you're gonna be thanking me for calling you this early, but I have some really exciting news!" I could practically hear the excitement in his voice.

"You didn't score another guy did you? Cause if you did I'm literally going to kill you." I said in a sarcastic tone. He's always having one night stands with random guys he picks up at bars. I really don't know why he spends his free time there or at least gets a decent boyfriend.

"What? No! You know how we tried to get you guys on Warped but all the band slots were taken?" He said dragging it out.

I slowly sat up in my bed, "Yess....."

"Well, apparently one of the bands had to drop out and I pulled a few strings and let's just say Alongside is going to Warped Tour!" He practically screamed over the phone.

"Shut up! No way! You cannot be joking around with me right now! Because if you are Axe, we're gonna have a serious problem!" I was suddenly awake and basically on the edge of my bed with excitement. We've been trying for so long to play Warped Tour and now it's finally happening!

"Addy, why would I lie about Warped, we've been trying for like 2 years..."

"True, I just want to make sure this is real right now and not some dream." My heart was beating so fast in my chest I just couldn't believe it. Wait till I tell Skye.

"Ad, I can assure you, you aren't dreaming, trust me I could also be in bed right now with a hot guy..." He said giving me a little too much information.

"Axe, how many times do I need to tell you, no one but you needs to know that?" I said getting out of bed and pulling on some sweats and moccasins.

"A million times, but that's besides the point."

"Yeah, the point being we need to get you a boyfriend...and fast." I said under my breath.

"Shut up! I have no problem finding one....I just don't wanna be stuck in a committed relationship." He said defending his honor.

"Mhmm." I said as I rolled my eyes and walked into my bathroom to start brushing my teeth.

I could start to hear him flip through papers in the background, "Anyways...the touring date starts in San Diego on the 24th so we would need to leave by th-," I interrupted him.

"Wait....San Diego?" My heart started to race as my toothbrush fell out of my mouth and into the sink. I groaned at the mention of it, his face suddenly filling up my head. I can still hear the ice cold words echoing through my mind. I could feel slight anxiety starting to form in the pit of my stomach. "Oh no.." I said to myself.

"Addy, listen to me, listen to Axe," He said knowing my current situation.

"Do I really have a choice?' I asked sitting on the toilet trying to calm myself.

"Not really, but Addy everything's going to be fine...if it makes you feel any better I don't think that the 'band that shall not be named' will be playing. You won't even run into them there..." He said in a calming voice. I have to say from my entire time knowing Axel, he wasn't really known for 'comforting people'....just lonely men in bed.

I took a few deep breaths, "You're right, they're probably on some tour somewhere." Right? What are the chances they'll be there anyways...aren't they getting too big for Warped?

"Everything better?" I heard him ask over the phone.

"Uhm yeah...I just need to wrap my head around this...uhm can you just text me the details?"

"Sure, Ad." I could tell in his voice that he felt bad for bringing it up. It wasn't his fault..he was just doing his job as manager.

"Thanks Axe..I'll let Skye and Jess know." I said as I hung up the phone. Needing to get out of here and clear my mind as quickly as possible I decided to go on a coffee run.

I exited the bathroom and put some skinny jeans and a camo tee on along with some scraped up docs and a grey denim jacket. I brushed my messy blue hair and put on a little lipstick. I wrote a note to Skye and left it on the counter,

"Hey beautiful,
Went to go get the usual, I'll be back in 20!
-A
P.S I have some good news...."

I then grabbed my purse and my keys and booked it out of there. I drove to the nearest Starbucks and went inside to order.

After I ordered the usual along with some pastries, my mind kept bugging me about San Diego. Why couldn't I ever just let this go? Oh yeah because it was one of the best and the worst times in my life. I dug out my phone while I was waiting for my order and went through my contacts. I scrolled down far enough just to see his name still there. It took every fiber of my being not to press his name. He probably deleted mine when he broke my heart and I left, he probably even forgot about me...I know I haven't....I couldn't if I tried. I know I should've deleted his number a along time ago but I just could never gather enough courage to actually go through with it.

Trying to get rid of the growing pit in my stomach, I threw my phone back into my purse and waited. Around 5 minutes later the lady called my name and I hopped on out of there...or at least I thought I was, until I bumped into someone, luckily none of the coffee spilling.

"Oh shit, I'm sorry." I heard an all too familiar voice say.

I looked up to see someone I'd thought I'd never see again.

"No, no it's okay. None of it spilled anywa-....Kellin?" He just looked at me for a quick second and turned to leave through the door. What the hell? I knew Kellin pretty well and this wasn't like him. I quickly went after him trying not to bump into people and spill my coffee.

"Kellin! Kellin wait!" He still wouldn't let up.

He was about to get in his car when I finally caught up. With my free hand I stopped the door before he could close it.

"Kellin...what the hell was that?" I asked in confusion. I hadn't seen him in months and he shows up randomly out of the blue in a random Starbucks?

He rolled his eyes and sighed, "Addy....just...just stay the hell away from me, okay?" He said in a strict tone. I couldn't even respond to that so he just closed his door and drove away.
