A Flair for the Dramatic

Contract

Over the next two weeks Jaime and Tony managed to learn everything off the album with our help. I was really surprised by how quickly they caught on. Today Mike and I were taking to guys to Equal Vision to look over their contracts and meet our manager and booking agent. I had to admit I was really excited to start a new chapter with these guys and even more excited to get back on the road.

Michele met us outside of the building with open arms, “Well if it isn’t my favorite two Mexicans plus some.”

I returned Michele’s hug and introduced Tony and Jaime, “Yes, Michele, this is Tony Perry and Jaime Preciado. Tony, Jaime, Michele Abriam our manager.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet the both of you. No Keri today, I thought she was back in town?”

I wasn’t in the mood so I changed the subject.

“Have you looked over their contracts yet?”

“Oh yes, let’s head inside.”

Mike nudged me with a smile as we followed Michele inside.

“Good job there.”

“Yeah whatever.

We settled ourselves in one of the conference rooms and waited for Steve and Dave. It wasn’t long before they walked in and we started going over contracts and a few tours in the future. Our first tour was I’m a Mathlete, Not an Athlete with Chiodos, The Devil Wears Prada, Alesana, and Simcoe Street Mob from September 23rd to October 2nd. Then we would be jumping on The Blackout UK tour with the Blackout, and Flood of Red from October 4th to the 17th. Those were only two of the four tours we would be doing this year.

“This is so exciting! Aren’t you glad we did this Tony?” Jaime said full of excitement.

Tony gave a small chuckle, “Yeah, it is pretty exciting.”

“I have a feeling I’m going to really like you two,” Dave said with a smirk.

“You’ll get sucked into liking them, trust me.” I said. “Now that this is done why don’t we go back to my place and get some food.”

“I’m all for that.” Mike said.

We said our goodbye and went back to our place. There wasn’t much there so we decided to just make some sandwiches. The guys settled into the living room while I began to prep.

“Hey.”

I looked past the fridge to see Keri walk through the back door.

“What do you want?”

“Nothing, I just came to see how everything was going. Want some help?”

“Sure.”

Keri got a knife out and started to slice tomatoes.

“Listen, Keri, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking.”

“Yeah, what about?”

“Us.”

Keri sighed but didn’t say anything so I continued.

“Whether you like it or not, we’re supposed to be together. We’ve been through a lot together and I just think its weird if we continue our lives with other people. You can’t seem to really forgive me for all those years ago. You’re with someone else who seems love you the way you need to, the way you want to. I can see that you’re happy. And I get it. You’ll be okay. You’ll be fine. But what about me?”

“Who says that I’m happy or that I’m okay or even fine? If we were still supposed to be together Victor we would, but after Emma and everything… Simply put I can’t keep being your second choice, not when you were always my first. Do you understand? I don’t want to go through that heart break, not again.”

My heart hurt. I felt like shit. I never wanted to make her feel the way she does now. I knew she still loves me, but she could never trust me with her heart again.

“I’m sorry. I should have never brought this up, but whenever you’re around all of my feelings just..”

“You don’t think I feel the same way?”

“You don’t show it.”

“I know.”

“Maybe if you did it would help things out a bit.”

We looked at each other and laughed.

“Yeah, no I don’t think so.”

“So you really like Aaron?”

“Yeah.”

“Why?”

“He’s cute, sweet, kind, understanding. Did I mention that he’s cute?”

“Don’t rub it in.”

“He is so sexy.”

“Keri.”

“Oh don’t worry you are too, but I can’t look at you that way anymore.”

I reached over and took one of the tomato slice and ate it. Keri gave me a funny look.

“What?”

“Ew.”

“This is good.”

“Not raw.”

“Even better.”

I took another slice and took a bite right next to her ear.

“Stop,” she laughed pushing me away.

“Nom, nom, nom its sooo good.”

“Vic please that’s so annoying.”

I had her cornered now. I didn’t waste any time to steal a kiss. And then another and a few more. I’ve been waiting so long to have the feeling of her lips against mine. I pressed my body closer to Keri’s while she tightened her grip around my neck.

“You two are so busted.” Mike said with a smirk.

He just had to ruin the moment.
